That is the best way to promote , but of course Handling events will also carry your advertising , but most important thing is Which Manager will you hire to do the Job, we have seen many casinos that managed by their Own team that gets no success , until they pass to legit and trustworthy manager .
so best to choose better one and never keep small budget for the advertising because this will be your weapon in luring players, the more you spend in Ads is the more gamblers will trust your team , because this involves money and the more you can spend is the more you can be trusted.
and also never expect  fast return , sometimes this will take long before you get what you wanted so please don't be like those who advertise for 2 months and expect thousands of players instantly .

If you are planning to create your gambling platform too I guess you need to have a large scale of money for the marketing, front end and back end developer at the same time for the QA tester and the people who will need to train for managing the live support of your platform, if you already have and want to promote one of the most effective is to create an event and run a signature campaign like the other platforms. Also, hire of a reputable manager to prevent scams and not ruin your credibility.

I don't think the coinmarketcap do accept ads for gambling but instead for tokens and newly projects and I think that is not the right site to advertise a gambling site but maybe to gambling related forum or gambling review websites.

I m not a casino owner - but I am a social media manager and a marketing person. Hardly seen any gambling promotions on social media. Just read some interesting info - will be following the posts for more detail maybe I can plan a strategy as well.

One of the most underrated promotion strategy that people miss these days is TikTok. You can advertise literally EVERYTHING on that platform. Games, casinos, scams, dumb people are present daily on my For You page. You can try making some dummy accounts and create your own strategy to promote it there, who knows... maybe you will go viral with one of your videos. Good luck!
