I agree about the hypocrisy. And if we continue the reasoning in this direction, then there are many jobs that are harmful to health, but still they exist. It is rather strange to make a fuss about the (presumably) high mortality rate of racehorses against such a backdrop. It's probably good that gradually people are more and more worried about animals - this indicates a growing standard of living, but I would say that those who have already raised their standard of living should first worry about people who have not yet grown up than about animals.

Not only horse racing but all events like that which involve animals must be banned. There is camel racing still going on in UAE despite so much criticism on it since they involve child as camel jockey. Since elite class including government bodies are involved in such sports gambling, its very hard to ban that.

Yes correct, animals has their own feelings to and they can be hurt as well. For me this can be considered as animal cruelty, people enjoy watching their horses, camels etc races to be on the 1st place but then they didn't even know the practice that these animals are doing before their fight, they are suppose to be in the farm and other things not ont the track.

Not all horse breeds are fit on the farm. There's a right breed for farming and racing. What you see on the farm aren't those that use for racing.

Sorry but horse racing is a part of the ecosystem. It benefits humans too. If you are concerned about animal cruelty then be a vegetarian and don't eat meats. There are benefits that horse racing gives. Those cruelties are isolated cases that were punishable by law. If caught, these people will face the law.

There's no perfect industry in the first place that's why instead of banning those, strict regulations should be imposed.

Racing horses are well conditioned and wouldn't let be in the race if not since it will be a losing horse so I think it might be just a coincidence that the horse died but for me I think it's alright if they don't banned horse racing since what harm does it cause to the horses? They love running don't they?

This is why animals racing and other fight are getting banned to discourage the abuse of animals, animal right is gradually gaining publicity and most of those who use animals fir gambling and betting on them may get jailed in some cases. Subjecting animals to extremely dangerous conditions is no longer permitted and I kick against such practice.

As you have already been told, these are not horses that graze in the pastures and are caught and forced to race. These are horses that are bred under special conditions, constantly trained and valued by their owners. They are more hardy to race than other horses.

Every creature that inhabits the planet is not perfect and therefore we can all die at any time. The same applies to animals, so I believe that the death of a horse during a race is nothing more than an accident.

Everything in this world has both positive and negative aspects. There is nothing in world that has only positive aspect or only negative aspects. Likewise horse racing has both aspects. Man is an animal, only that he is a higher animal. All big mammals have the same internal organs like man and this organs carry out the same functions in both man and animals. Anything that causes a horse stroke will also cause a man stroke long ago because horses are stronger than man.

It should be backed by science stroke on human is very much different in some way from horses, human develop it over time because of abuse on what he eats and what he thinks, horses are made to run, if it's a different animal race where the nature of them is not to run like monkey or turtle then it can develop depression on these animals.

I will like to read the research done by science on this as you claim. Please do put the link. From the little I know it is over stress that causes stroke in humans and not necessary what we eat. If animals are stressed too they can develop it. That horses can run does not mean they can do that without stress when they have loads on them. Carrying a human and running for a horse is load. It is not the same thing when they have to run without anything on their backs. That is what am saying.

There is no way we can ban it since it widely watched and popular among gambling community also. With so much animal abuse already going on in the world, I don't think someone will pay any attention to horse abuse. Similar type of things going on in Spain with bulls for centuries.

Thoroughbred horses if I am not wrong. Those are the ones that race as well as possible, along with Arabian horses as well. Horses were used by people for many years, I mean they have been used in wars as well, which saw thousands dead at a time on each battle. The problem here is not that horses are used for something, of course they could be used, it is how they are raced that is the problem.

If you look at how racing horses are looked for in the farms, I am pretty sure there are millions, maybe even a billion people who are not living that greatly, horses are treated like amazingly because they make the owners money so they are looked after very carefully. However during the races the whip should be gone, and shouldn't be used, that is number one problem. Just all around race itself could be arranged a bit better instead.

The game is very old and this is not going to stop. People have strong heart to support and bet on the game.

There will be a problem if let say government instantly put a ban on those old games because people are attached to them already and they will always find a way to continue betting again. They might consider looking for alternatives online. It's rare to see a footballer die in the field and footballers are not being forced to play but they can always stop if they feel something bad.
