The most unique topic you found on the bitcointalk forum? (effective, funny, horror, dramatic, smartest , heroic and other) Wink

I can't stop staring at this unique thread. this is new to me. but maybe outdated for those of you who have been on bitcointalk for a long time. This really makes my heart, which was originally wrinkled, become neat again like a shirt finished in an iron. and didn't expect this to be a historic thread hahahaha. and I think this thread is also the thread with the shortest but fun set of replies as far as I've found.

found a thread that you find your version unique?

let go of the burden of the mind for a moment and let's have fun

I thought there was already a thread here.

Best excerpts you heard on bitcointalk?

You can do expressions there with threads or their quotes that you look unique.

Lol, this one easily:

Topic: KYC now required https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5124947.0

It was an April fools joke about Bitcointalk suddenly requiring KYC for all users. So naturally, a lot of users ended up doxing themselves left and right. (dox replies seems to be deleted now)

Haha 😂, Really would have been interesting if KYC was a mandatory criteria of being part of this great community of bitcoin and cryptocurrency lovers, maybe we wouldn't have such an enormous amount of scammers and shitcoins in the altcoin section claiming they are the real bitcoin.

But this would have truncated one of the ideas which lead to the development of bitcoin, which is Freedom and anonymity.
All thanks to Satoshi for leading by example and setting the standards which have brought this forum to great heights today.

And also the new rank requirements which includes karma that is also an April fools joke. I'm sure many are shock to see that there is a new rank requirements in Bitcointalk forum and doesn't like it (for others). Having KYC in the forum defeats the purpose of anonymity and freedom to prefer being anonymous. I can't imagine what others might think that KYC is mandatory.

Seconded, couldn't agree more! A great piece from the Hal Finney.
Rest on ( In the blessed memory ). As nothing beats real life experience, I think he got paralyzed at some point. (Painful)
But, the most important thing is that, he's children are in unity and technically minded to keep those Bitcoins safe.

I like to read different topics on bitcointalk, but there is a topic that amazes me till date. That topic makes me think about many things such as;
  • How committed some users are to the forum
  • How long a user can nurse a topic idea and accomplish it, maybe years.
  • Do people recieve extra pay for some efforts in this forum

Ratimov  Beginners and Help Encyclopedia is very effective, educative and documentary. When touring the topic, you will feel as if you are in a separate board in the forum and not a thread.

One of the most unique threads on the forum for me is one that was created as far back as November 2016, was last edited June, 2020. It is reverenced and often referred to weekly in users comment as a form of advice to others. It's one of the threads that have helped many to be here in this forum and as well, saw some others out. Sadly, it's a thread that somehow we often neglect despite its visibility and has got zero comment on it! I'm hoping we are already taking a guess on the thread I'm talking about but it's no other thread than, the infamous;

Created by Lauda of blessed memory with regards to the forum. One of the bitcointalk unsung hero's but, we've still got his guide to help users stay the path of the forum and prosecute defaulters. Do well to get acquinted with the thread. Am done here!

Even with AML/KYC going against Bitcoin's ethos aside, AML/KYC on a community forum is way too much of an overkill lol. Though I'm also not for it, there are other far better solutions than KYC like having sort of monthly "premium membership".

The threads I've seen listed here (at least by members I don't have on my ignore list) are more iconic than unique....though obviously a thread can be both.  But there's already a thread about iconic threads, so I wanted to share a few bizarre/funny ones from the past.  Maybe they're not unique, but the members who started them were either absolute ball busters or raving lunatics.

Haven't seen many members in either of those categories in a while, have we?

Calling out the premier scam on Havelock at the moment by MPOE-PR.
MPOE-PR was banned by the time I registered on the forum, but I remember his/her posts from my lurking days of 2014.  I think he's a "he" but that profile pic kind of confuses things.  Anyway, he had a talent for writing as well as taking other members down several notches, which I consider to be a rare talent around here.

Petition to have Spoetnik banned. by Fwdxlsh.
He was a member who appeared like a thundering troll storm in 2015 and got banned (or disappeared) not long after.  The thread above is just one of his insane ramblings, and personally I find it nostalgic that it's about Spoetnik, a member who haunted the altcoin section for a looong time and who had an ongoing--and serious--feud with Vod.  Probably not as serious as the one Vod had with OgNasty, but I remember being astonished at how heated their arguments got.  OK, I popped a boner, but that was years ago and I came here for the lulz, drama, and uncensored bad words.

Runner up from Fwdxlsh is this gem: Dear BitcoinTalk: PLEASE LEAVE MRKLYE ALONE. Heh heh.

And his final thread before he sailed off the flat edge of Earth:

Coinman1 real thread. Erasing posts to make him look like a freaking saint! by mixan.
Mixan used to be just a normal member as far as I could tell, and then something happened (and I don't remember the details and didn't look it up before posting this) and he just snapped.  And when I say "snapped" I mean other members were concerned about his mental health and were trying to figure out what his beef was.  He mentioned me in the OP of the thread above, but I just don't recall the details.  Ah...I do remember that he wanted to give me his account before he signed off the forum for good, but I demurred.  I was actively tagging anyone involved in account buying/selling/trading, and there was no way in hell I was going to take possession of his.

None of the members who started the threads above or who were referenced in them are around anymore (MRKLYE for instance, who ran a porn site IIRC), but all of them added their own flavor of spice to bitcointalk.  Not everyone liked the various flavors, but it did make for an interesting broth--much more so than we have currently.

In the past I have come across many unique topics in the reputation section written on emotional expressions, this section is suitable for starting a dramatic story about the feud of two users because of different thoughts. But strangely, from all the years this forum was created, not a single user wrote a story about their love journey with another user starting from this forum. Most just start conflict.

When you're tired of learning real facts in all parts of this forum, occasionally go to that section to be a spectator. Grin

Mine probably this one
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5247383.0 by @cyrus

Everyone got stunned when there will be a social media channel for bitcointalk forum and its a discord. There are some who wishes this and now its been granted last 2020. Great hub too for bitcoiners.

That is historical post youve chosen aside from the Bitcoin Pizza. The creation of hodl is something epic in the bitcoin community and even altcoin community.

The most unique topic on the forum? For me it is the: Wall Observer BTC / USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion.
As far as I know, WO is the only forum topic that has different rules than the rest of the forum.

We certainly will never be able to forget the historic digital footprint right? Yes, we won't forget it and this is one of the most historic thread for bitcointalk which is the 5th topic (maybe the first because id 1-4 is no longer available) on the bitcointalk.org forum created by satoshi.

This topic has been viewed more than 70k times to date, so this should be forum history that we should all remember. OP did you find it before?

Welcome to the new Bitcoin forum!

The old forum can still be reached here:

I'll repost some selected threads here and add updated answers to questions where I can.

The most unique topics are::: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning

Being one of the second best coins to date still standing, it was not surprising that the Ethereum project started an announcement from the bitcointalk forum.

But unfortunately Vitalik Buterin account has long left the forum since 2016.
