Choices: Gamble or Help the poor ?

In order to understand the psychology of gamblers, i have decided to come up few questions for discussions, and here is the first one.

Suppose that you are a responsible gambler who have allocated a certain portion of money to gamble each month. Now you came across a poor person/family who is in urgent need of money. Will you quit the gambling for that month and give the allocated money to the poor family or will you prefer to gamble as you can't live without gambling ?

In my case, I can do that I have similar situation in the past and it's for my relatives, but it will depend on my relationship with that poor family if they are just acquaintances I just give a portion and ask them to ask for help to their relatives if they have relatives but if there is none I could give them my allocation it's ok to help but we should not deprive ourselves of something that we've allocated or else some people will abuse you, it's ok to help your relatives because it's your family and family should help each other.

Helping is a good deed but you should still know your limitations. Some poor people are used to relying on other people's help and they don't have the motivation to strive and work to survive. They are already contented on having at least a single meal a day.
I think the best help that we could be is to help them find a source of income just like the livelihood programs offered by the government so they would know how to strive for a better life. If we will just feed them without teaching them how to find ways to earn, we are just tolerating them to be lazy.

Personally I will make a sacrifice by allocating my monthly gambling money to the poor who are/is urgently in need of it, afterall it's an extra money which is not part of my money allocated for my domestic expenses, of course it's might hurt but who knows maybe that money might even be used to save a life, though I would have to endure not gambling for a whole month it's a personal sacrifice that worth taking, it's bad to be in a state of penury and abject poverty thus I will always endeavor to help or assist whosoever is in that state apart from using my gambling money.

I think if you decide to help a poor family, first of all you need to know who exactly you are helping and what the money will be spent on. Most of the street beggars in my country work in collaboration with the criminal world, so I prefer to help churches, orphanages, old people who can no longer work for various reasons.

Humanizing humans is an obligation in my opinion, and helping people in need is one of them. It doesn't even have to be in such a situation, in everyday life we have to be like that. While gambling is a self-satisfying process, yes there is a certain satisfaction in us when we play gambling, that's what I feel. So this is not a difficult choice for me personally, because there is something that satisfies me more when I help others. Although I am not satisfied in gambling, but I sacrifice for something more important for one's survival.

The question you asked is very technical and it takes someone with a good understanding to be able to make a proper decision based on the needful answer that OP is expecting. PS, as a responsible gambler that I am, I will not take the allocated amount of money for gambling to sort out the urgent need of the poor rather I will gamble with the allocated amount because with gambling I can multiply that amount to ×2 or ×3 then use part of it to help more poor people around. If the need of the poor is something that has to do with saving a life or payment of hospital bills, I can decide to split the money into two parts one for gambling and the other for helping them.

If there's many poor people around me, I will reduce my gambling activity, but I didn't stop to gamble because it's already become a part of my life. I think it's fair enough since I wouldn't donate if I think it's too much for me.

We have to care about the people around us, especially those who are poor people who need help why not do it and it's better to give gambling money to those in need because for me gambling whenever we can as long as we can set aside the results of the work, but yeah, I think that's what The importance of helping them is something to start because God loves the way people do good to humans again.

It doesn't need to be an option, we must realize that it is important for humanity, because they will be happy when loved by someone especially when they are in trouble.

Well, it usually depends on people if they have the heart or conscience to give something for the poor especially if that allocated money is just for gambling purposes and not for the things that are somewhat more important. I won't talk about other people as I don't really know what's their take on this but for me, I'd help that person or family that I will come across because I know the feeling if you have nothing and can't even put proper food on the table for your family to eat as much as 3x a day, and as a responsible gambler, I bet I can still live for days without engaging myself in gambling activities as long as I know that money that I allocated was spent for someone who is more needed.
