I'm sure the result will be 31-35, 35-40 years of age will get the maximum votes. The same is being recorded in the thread where the voting is done for average age of bitcoiners. This time we can see a good number of youngsters, which means the freshers/beginners with few years of experience in a job. Because during the pandemic these people got into cryptocurrency and now they make a good contribution.

Seems like at least the assumption that there are more Gen Z entering bitcoin is not quiete correct.

A forum poll might not be accurate enough to reveal the reality, because many people don't answer them and a higher percentage of crypto adopters should participate in order to collect enough data to reach a conclusion.
Despite this, it's well known most crypto enthusiasts are from millennials' generation (1981 – 1996 birth date). Youngest generation isn't too interested in investing money, it seems. At least for now.

I don't have any statistical data report but based on my assumption usually ages 18 to 35 are people who have open-minded when it comes to crypto.
Based on this article, half of the young men in the US it seems showing more interest on cryptocurrencies like trading and investing which is calculated almost half of the population, it's 43%.

Maybe old people might didn't have an interest in technology or even using computers.
And most of us now in our age are more fluent on gadgets, so I think that's the reason.

I would say maximum number of Bitcoiners on this forum are from 2013-2015. So, Age of Bitcoiners above 30 is going to be the maximum (atleast in this part of the forum) as most of the young ones are still wandering in Altcoins section. People do stupid stuff in young age and be more gentle as they mature, Bitcoin is that maturity which they will get after some years.

Curious to see what the results are in the above quiz over the course of time. From what I’ve gathered just with personal experience is that most of the earlier “coiners” tended to be male and relatively younger (under 50 years old). I don’t think that’s changed much of the course of time but it would be nice to see it do so.

I don't really think that are so many women involved with bitcoin or any kind of cryptocurrency. But anyway, I think that is a nice statistic.

When I learned about bitcoin there were very few people younger than me that were also interested about it. I am happy to see new generations buying bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

I found this website with some different stats based on Google Analytics:

I've made my vote. My guess is that the largest population of Bitcoin owners belongs to the Millennials, those who were born from 1981 to 1996. The second largest which might have a huge size gap from the largest is probably coming from Generation X or those who were born from 1965 to 1980. But there is probably a growing population of Generation Z as they are getting more mature and more responsible in terms of their finances. And since they are the ones who are most exposed to rising technologies, they could more easily embrace Bitcoin.

You can read my topic and see the trend

What trend? The trend is average age of Bitcoiners is lower and lower. It is very natural trend. Because the old people will hardly to accept new things, new technologies, etc. The younger people are more keen on adoption to new things. It is applicable for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency too.

That's just the beginning they have given up on how they will be able to trust and embrace bitcoin at a time like this if they are mentally weak.
Maybe they just want to feel success without wanting to feel failure first.
There are also many other young people who have a strong support for the development of krito like in my area and they also will not give up whatever happens in the future because they know that whatever is expected, there are risks first.

Another reason why most bitcoiners will be between 30-40 years age is that for investment and trading in bitcoin requires capital and usually teenagers do not have that capital to invest. I have also selected my age in the poll but i don't think it is important for me to write about it here.  Smiley  As most people will not like to tell their age publicly on the forum.

Since your question is age of Bitcoiners/Bitcoin enthusiast, then the poll is mostly not accurate since not everyone here are Bitcoin holders, this is more like "Age of Bitcointalk users". @Uneng's graph also not really correct since cryptocurrency isn't only Bitcoin, but any coins listed on CMC is also cryptocurrency. I'd say @bitmover's graph is the most accurate so far. It's just interesting if old people with 65+ ages are still interested with Bitcoin while they're mostly doesn't know much about technology.

There may be that those who are Bitcoiners for 6-8 years no longer hang out here, instead they have their own business already.
So the poll made today here may not be so much relevant, not alone.

Also many people who have bitcoin may not even know that this forum exist, especially older generations who don't do everything on the internet.

Back in 2016 most of the friends that I met in crypto are around 16-20,
So most of us are 20-30 now and I am thankful for crypto because I met so many friends and made some great memories with them.

Maybe old people might didn't have an interest in technology or even using computers.
And most of us now in our age are more fluent on gadgets, so I think that's the reason.
Which as of right now, is probably the contributing factor to younger ages generally being more involved with Bitcoin. It's a currency, the only real difference is it requires a certain knowledge of computers to secure effectively, which is harder the older you're because you haven't grown up with computers. Unless, you have a specific interest, you've likely steered clear of them.

Although, computers are becoming more common in older people now, I imagine in the next twenty years this won't be an issue at all. As pretty much every generation will have some sort of familiarity with computers, and I imagine most will depend on one whether it's for personal usage or within their working environment. I mean phones are pretty much owned by everyone these days, and the majority of them being smart phones.

People that are 50yrs old above won't pay interest that much learning bitcoin, even using digital wallets to ease their life is difficult for them. My parents are at those age and they don't know how to transact online. They are even skeptic when I pay some of our utility bill using my phone only. The technology on their generation is not advance making it difficult for them to adapt. While us who are below 30's where technology has been a necessity to our daily lives and we are more open-minded with these type of innovations.

We need thousands of votes to have a somewhat reliable and bulkier statistic to work with.  With one or two hundred votes it is hard to make a reliable assumption.  Also, how many people use forums nowadays?

Also many people who have bitcoin may not even know that this forum exist, especially older generations who don't do everything on the internet.
I would argue it might be the opposite way.  Younger generations seem to prefer videos over text and social media over forums due to more pleasant UI experience and more comfort.  I rather see older generations searching for a forum than young ones.

But maybe I am just wrong.

You may be right with what the so far (limited) data shows. There is nobody under 18 and also just one person from 18-22 so far. I would have thought there were many more pople in this age group here and also there should be many more people here since the usage/understanding of computers and phones is way higher. So my assumption would be that most of them are at reddit or similar sites, maybe also telegram.

Yes 30-35 would be my guess which will be the most popular, It kind of makes
sense really, back in 2009 the current 30-35's would have been around 17-22, college
goers, potentially science or computer students so Bitcoin would have appealed to
that cohort of people back then, obviously others outside that age bracket got involved too.

Maybe old people might didn't have an interest in technology or even using computers.
And most of us now in our age are more fluent on gadgets, so I think that's the reason.

My parents are in their 70's and they have Bitcoin, they have a laptop but they wont
transact with Bitcoin, We are holding it in our wallets for them, they understand the
concept though and have moved some of their FIAT savings into Bitcoin.

Its true that every generation will become more computer literate.

I think the data you are gathering is the age of Bitcoiners and not members of this prestigious forum. This data would be affected by geographical location. The level of Bitcoin awareness would be relative because some countries would have more access to Bitcoin information than others. We all know that the internet gives everybody equal opportunity to access information but most countries lack internet facilities. In Europe, America and some part of Asia the age of Bitcoiners might me from 18 and above because of high Bitcoin awareness and access to internet. While in most developing countries that lacks Bitcoin information and internet facilities the age of Bitcoiners would range from 30 and above.

To be honest, I am very pleased that bitcoin is more of an investment for a younger generation. I think this is a really important aspect.

I remember back in 2014 when I start using bitcoin, there were a lot of users under 18 trying to get bitcoins in the casinos and getting banned for their age.

And this makes me ask myself if underage users should be allowed to use bitcoin. They are not welcome in the casinos or the exchanges, so, what can do with bitcoin someone who is still young?

I don't really think that are so many women involved with bitcoin or any kind of cryptocurrency. But anyway, I think that is a nice statistic.

When I learned about bitcoin there were very few people younger than me that were also interested about it. I am happy to see new generations buying bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

I found this website with some different stats based on Google Analytics:

Quote
Yes, it's curious to imagine the percentage of women involved with cryptocurrency is similar to the percentage of men, since we don't see it daily for real. And the difference between GWI research and Google Analytics research's data is huge.

Some hypothesis I've though:

  • GWI appealed to the gender equality policy when doing their research, consequently manipulating results, at some degree;
  • Google Analytics is outdated, because the article containing those informations is from 3 years ago.

People who get into bitcoin and are over 60 have my respect
Kevin O'Leary -67
Max Keiser -62
Mark Cuban -63
Robert Kiyosaki -75

There's a lot of older people involved in bitcoin. Age doesn't say much about your knowledge and ability to learn. It's actually amazing how sharp some people are in their 60s and 70s. They can put youngsters to shame. Not all people though. Bill Gates is 66 and he's becoming more and more disconnected from reality.

I am old enough to be able to have started staking from the beginning, but I was not even close to the scene by then, unfortunatelly. But it's like they say: it's never late to onboard! We need to embrace the revolution that is going on!

The funny part is this age stats study might only be accurate if you do it on a much bigger version which also means that, you might have to publish on various sites and evaluate the results I have seen so many rich people in their 70-60's going for Bitcoins, everyone who is essentially and investor is honestly into it since this is something that you cannot seperate from the society at the moment. For me I started out when I was 17 I guess and now am 25, still going strong and it's amazing to see the growth, it does not matter what age you are bitcoins is for everyone , every generation for that matters, it's very wrong to assume that only young people are attracted towards it.

An the ones that are constantly denying it, when the time comes, it will hit them hard and then they will regret they didn't onboared on due time! Well, we will use the short HFSP for them! It's a shame, but it is what it is! Same for the shitcoiners that insist in a very long time preference instead a short time preference! This is a concept that everyone should be aware of! Time preference!

I think it totally makes sense that the millennials are the most invested generation: the majority already works, so they have funds to buy cryptos, and they're not too old to understand and appreciate the technology behind bitcoin. Gen Z is probably too you for having enough money and also the experience to study finance at that age. Personally I got involved in bitcoin when I was 28 (I know it's late), finding a 20-something year old interested more in investing rather than traveling and enjoying life is quite hard.

I think a lot of the Generation Z (Aged 10 to 25) are still too young to really grasp the concept of having money that are not controlled by any government. (Honestly, I do not know if they really care about that... )

The Millennials (Aged 26 – 41) and Generation X (Aged 42 – 57) on the other hand, has lived in a world where they have experienced the Banking crisis and all the wrong things that these Banks were doing, so they will understand what "evil" relationship there is between Banks and governments ....and how important "Bitcoin" is....as an alternative payment option. (Be your own Bank)

We may not get the real data just through this polls alone. Many users just read and don't notice threads and are not voting as well. But If someone who is in the internet forums since 2010, then most probably we are in the 30's and up.

A forum poll might not be accurate enough to reveal the reality, because many people don't answer them and a higher percentage of crypto adopters should participate in order to collect enough data to reach a conclusion.

This result however is not all Bitcoiners. People in crypto is a growing population. There are kids as early as 14 playing Axie Infinity, its a good age to start learning crypto.

In my opinion, joining forums and becoming a bitcoiner doesn't need to look at age, yes although sometimes 18 is the limit for someone to make money, but I think many of us here may have been familiar with bitcoin and forums since we were under 18 years old, because the development of information that is easily accessible today by anyone including teenagers

I only know Bitcoins when I was 20+ yrs old, now that I'm 30, there are lots of things that I can share with the next generations especially some experiences for investing in the right project. But I say to the newbies that are hoping to enter the market, they need to give some time to read the basics and avoid YouTubers who are promoting shitcoins because those are the people who only want to steal money from you with their mouths. They are also an investor in the project they are promoting and they might be about to sell the coins they just needed some small talks to lure you to invest in their pump and dump coins so that they can pull their money out and leave you as a loser.

Looks like the golden age for bitcoin is in the age group 30-45, glad to be in that group myself. It makes sense in my opinion to be interested in crypto currencies at that age. It's the age were we worked for several years already, paid back our student loans and finally can afford to save and invest some money. During the years before we might be interested in trading but don't have the capital to be really successful, and at an older age we have a lot of more expenses to worry about and the free money will be spend more on family. What I also noticed when talking to my niece and nephew is that they are not so concerned anymore about financial independence. Maybe it for us the time we lived through the big financial crisis in 2008 that we want more freedom and be independent from the government.

Well, we can say that the age of Bitcoiners is basically between 16 and 60 years old:

* We could say as a matter of perspective that those who should have the most activity are those between 25 and 35 years old, so they are people who are possibly with Bitcoin since its inception, people who should have a broader knowledge of the subject, currently . generating capital for the consumption of these (Investments) and since they have sufficient maturity for the correct use of these.

* then come the 16 At 25 we could say that it is the young people who have been learning about the subject, since currently everyone knows Bitcoin but I feel that they do not have enough experience (perhaps I speak too much but it is my point of view).

* and finally there are the elderly who are between 40 and 60 years old... I recently saw a post on this subject in which they say that these characters have "hindered the issue of economic development" and because there are very few who apply this technology and understands that they are people who come from a time when there was no internet and are used to traditional means of payment, so understanding this new economy is complicated.

I think most Bitcoin investors are older folks and younger investors are into things like NFTs and smart contract chains like FTM and ICP.

It is certain that the young generation between 25-40 is the most open and owns cryptocurrency, young people in these ages are fond of technology and certainly they are very passionate about cryptocurrency because it combines technology and the economy, meaning by working in cryptocurrencies you are inside the world of technology and at the same time earn Money and this is what young people like, but young people of the younger generation are usually fond of games and do not care much about building their economic life because they do not have enough awareness and are not able to take responsibility yet.

It depends on the individual want because are some older folks who are also into NFTs but I have a reason to believe the graph was showing the real information about the age of Bitcoiners because most of the crypto investors are between the age of 15 to the 50s.
Mind you, most Bitcoin early miners are within the again of 20 to 40 when it all started. An example is Laszlo Hanyecz.

I beg to differ I have personally met people of the gen Z which been involved in crypto in a way or another, both online and face-to-face, being myself part of the gen Z.  Wink

Perhaps it has to do with the fact that in my country we are learning to embrace payment methods that are not dependant on our banks, we have developed some distrust towards our government with the years.

next year I will also be in the 30-35 area and that age is the age where everyone starts working seriously, working for their family so it's not surprising that at that age many bitcoiners are active.
Currently the younger generation is still starting to learn cryptocurrencies and has not really entered this forum. They are still engrossed in their own world and do not think that financial knowledge is very important. Those who join this forum at the age of 18-22 are those who are aware of how important crypto knowledge is. and for the age of 55 and over you are extraordinary, you still have the enthusiasm to continue to be in this forum and equip yourself with extensive knowledge.

I wouldn't say "not too interested" but more like they do not have the money for it. Consider it this way, the older you get, the more money you get because of career being better salary plus whatever you family has will be passed on to you. Hence why youngest generation would not have it, they neither worked enough to earn a good salary, and usually their parents and even maybe grandparents are still alive.

But, people who are 40 or there about, may have higher salary, plus a good chunk of them may have lost their parents and inherited some stuff as well. This is why people who are 30-40 range could have a lot of interest in investment, and people who are 25 or under may be just looking to survive.

It depends on the individual want because are some older folks who are also into NFTs but I have a reason to believe the graph was showing the real information about the age of Bitcoiners because most of the crypto investors are between the age of 15 to the 50s.

Wow, little bit surprised that 30-45 years old are the most ages here in this voting, although it may be still many more members here. and I am part of that age  Grin

This statistic may be different in each country. I am not sure this is also the same in my country. commonly, those under 20 years old will still not focus on investing. they will only focus on earning money and cashing out it to fulfill their own needs, not even care about the investment or savings.

A young boy of early 20s will be interesting and ready to invest in anything or any opportunity given him because he has no much need for money, except for up keep and some unnecessary luxuries.
Then between 25-30 will be willing to invest the more to become a millionaire while planning to marry to trying to prosper with his family.
From 30 -35 is very much willing to invest, but this time around only to invest in something that is not looking like a scam. Probably he is tired of successive scams. They struggle to establish and still remember to invest.
35 - 40 are die hard investors and they believe bitcoin so much because they have tested many and trusted bitcoin.

40 above upto 80 are probably investing for their children  and they are so cool about it because they are investing at their pace. $20  - $50 weekly investment plan is ok for this set.
But bitcoiners are young people. Bitcoin is money for the young, the old don't have much time for all the technicalities.

This poll actually made me happy- it is refreshing to see that majority of 'bitcoiners' are in the age group of 20-26, which makes the exposure of BTC high compared to when it first released and been operational for the first 5 years.

Though this may be the case, I hope that more people would be able to discover the existence of cryptocurrencies which may spark their curiosity in the process. The more people that utilizes cryptocurrencies in their payment, the more that the government would support it being implemented in their finance and economy.

I agree that Gen Z is being seen as a major force in this market, but they are not targeting bitcoin but altcoins and shitcoins instead. They love to hunt for hidden gems and are willing to take any risks. After the recent market crash by Luna and some lending protocols, a lot of GEN Z lost a lot of money and they slowly started to realize only bitcoin is eternal and nothing else can be compared to it.

Could be that this forum is a little bit to oldschool for Gen Z people, since here everything is more regulated and also the layout is more 2000-2010 Grin . But I don't find this necessarily a bad thing, since this forum has also a lot of influence in the development of bitcoin and a serous talk about that would be way harder on a forum like reddit where everything is more of a mess.

Nobody under the age of 18 in here?  I sort of doubt that.  Given a majority of the responses and ridiculous opinions here, I assumed that a majority of users were in the 15-17 range.  Reading some of my trust feedbacks from trolls, I honestly doubt these people are adults.  Look at this feedback from owlcatz:

Sorry, your cunty feedback is rubbish and mine is the truth. Do your trust network a favor and add this cunt ~ognasty to your trust settings to avoid this cunt on bitcointalk.

You can't convince me that a grown adult male actually wrote that about me in good faith after more than a decade of helping users here in various ways.  I think it's far more likely that it's a child lashing out at those he views as authority in an attempt to elevate himself somehow (a.k.a. showing off for the other trolls).  This just isn't adult behavior.  At least not someone with an IQ above 100.

I am only 27 years old .and I am using cryptocurrency & I am using this forum from 2013 . When I was 16 years old . But I was folish then I see Bitcoin price $60-70 but I didn't hold Bitcoin then. If I was bought and  keep holding 10-12 btc. Now I could make a huge profit and get rich

I have the same experience as you. I was 19 years old when I first heard about Bitcoin but since I was still unstable at that time, I was afraid to invest in it, and even thought of it as a scam. I ignored it but regret it later on. I'm in my 30's now and still putting up a good investment in Bitcoin because of the opportunities that I missed due to fear so I advise the younger generation to invest as early as possible because the price of Bitcoin is actually striking higher every bull run.

You have a point about people who invested in cryptocurrency at the time they feel like but the graph I was talking about didn't express people investing in crypto at a specific time of time.
Meanwhile, it was a graph created based on research about the age bracket of people who are into Bitcoin and the information may not be accurate but i believe it provides 90% correct pieces of information.

I am not surprised by the results so far. It's the demographic that has some money to invest and is open to new ideas. The older generations are slowly warming to crypto, but it's not even close to younger generations who in turn are not even close to what older generations can put into investing (money wise).

The ideal young age as a potential bitcoin adopter still conveys the purpose of Bitcoin as it should be. intact and there is no change from the aspect of excellence. Regardless of how the younger generation perceives Bitcoin if you look at it today, it is very easy for them to accept the existence of Bitcoin and quickly become familiar with making Bitcoin the right investment vehicle. They realize many things that Bitcoin is the freedom to control their finances.

I am not surprised by the results so far. It's the demographic that has some money to invest and is open to new ideas. The older generations are slowly warming to crypto, but it's not even close to younger generations who in turn are not even close to what older generations can put into investing (money wise).
from what I'm seeing right now the younger generation is seeing money and also invest wisely than the older generation, because this generation is cryptocurrency minded which i know and also observe from the rate of cryptocurrency investment and campaign of cryptocurrency before now. The factor now is that both oldest people is investing wisely without the concernment of youths or Young adults. and also youths now is even pushing more money for cryptocurrency without listening to elders as

I rarely meet investors at an already respectful age - more than 45. I think that people at this age either no longer think about such investments, or I just don’t know such investments.

Subject: Age of bitcoiners
...//...:::
hi ,OP...

It gives me a remembrance blow with your thread title and the Age of Empires 1997 game, in which version are we going...? I tell you I didn't even remember that game and I think I lost the thread in the 21st century.

But what does it matter at that time I was young today not so much, but here we are, the important thing with bitcoin is to belong at some point or remain forever, you just have to know that it exists.
Age is only a temporary "relative"_ of the price at which I bought my first bitcoins  Smiley

You probably just haven't met one. But in real life, I've met usually from 20-40 and a few from 45 and above when I've attended those gatherings that are related to cryptocurrencies. At that age, they should be more into investments and mostly, they're still a working class that has a lot of it expanded and scattered in many investments which includes bitcoin.

at the age of more than 45, I think many of them seem to want to develop assets that they already have. by choosing cryptocurrencies and they use cold money, most of them are more prepared to deal with crypto volatility than people aged 20-30 years. I think psychology is the main obstacle for young people, because they are developing assets, and not infrequently they use money from anywhere to multiply their assets.

In my experience the age group form 20-40 is also way more in the mood to show off and talk about their investments, since many of them are actively investing or searching for something to invest in that moment. If you are 45 or older you have already chosen on what to invest and only put in a percentage of your income in that asset. For many people this is not as exiting anymore and just party of daily business, so they are not really talking that much about it anymore.

Most likely, they've got tons of cash that they can invest or they're cash broke but with hefty investments. For the younger ones, it's all about fear. They want to be assured of something that they want to invest but honestly, they're the best shape to take risks because they can just take it again with higher chance of success unlike the older ones.

In my experience the age group form 20-40 is also way more in the mood to show off and talk about their investments, since many of them are actively investing or searching for something to invest in that moment. For many people this is not as exiting anymore and just party of daily business, so they are not really talking that much about it anymore.
Based on stats, that's much likely it is but still can't ignore the fact that many of the older ones are still unsure of which path to go because not all of them are open for investments.

I agree that Gen Z is being seen as a major force in this market, but they are not targeting bitcoin but altcoins and shitcoins instead.
"little bit too old school" is a very gentle way to put it Grin I'm used to visit it so it's not a big deal but other people used to new forums of course wouldn't like this layout/graphic.

Anyway talking about Gen Z "investments" probably it's also because they follow a lot of shitty influencers on TikTok who make a lot of money out of these naive people, that's why they prefer to buy Shiba instead of BTC.

I did not think that there would be such a small number of people between the ages of 18-22. This result actually surprised me. Actually, when I think about it, most of the bitcoin interested people you meet on the forum or social life were over 40 years old. I see that people with more life experience are more knowledgeable and profitable about bitcoin. People of that age are usually more courageous than the younger ones. And unfortunately, the people who hold the most bitcoins are not young people.

In regards to those threads about age: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5396058.0 and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1529447.0;viewResults I wondered how this changed over time and if the assumptions are correct.
I want to point out that as far as I know nobody (including me) is able to see for what option you have voted if you are concerned about your data.
On this second link, the thread was posted on the year of 2016 so 6 years have passed already. I think changes are already noticeable on that span of time. Not only the age that were added to those bitcoin users but also the wisdom and experience. They are now more confident and they can now decide properly if what to do on different situations.

It's not a big deal if someone can see the results on the poll because it was just an age anyway. This is something that we must be proud of. It is a not a kyc that is very important and should be hidden, but on the result, I can see that most users here are now 40 plus. That's interesting, I thought most users here are still young like 30's and below.

To be honest, the data and survey results doesn't really surprised me as each bracket of age has it's own reason as to why the amount or percentage of crypto/bitcoin holders are that amount. I mean, on the age bracket of 18-22, there's not many people who are willing to risk their allowance or their salary on cryptocurrency. However if you look on the bracket of 25-40 years old, more people are currently holders with these age as most of them are looking for investments other than stocks, and real states.

I can also not really believe that the average age is that old. Especially since we are here on an Internet forum which will not at the same time represent the overall adoption of bitcoin. One reason I can think of, is that here are many difficult technical topics and it is not easy for many young people to respond to such topics.
Maybe we can get some more people to vote, to have a more detailed statistic!

I think the best age for holding bitcoin will be round about 25 to 34. A young man knows how to deal with bulls and bears.

There is no best age for holding bitcoin. One can invest in bitcoin as soon as he understands the market irrespective of age. Maximum of the bitcoin holders range from age 25 to 35.

I think that those people who learn and use Bitcoin at 18 years old must be in a special circumstance what pushed them to do so. For example, in most of developed countries the youth have no "need" to use Bitcoin beyond speculation, since in those nations the access to banking and financial instruments is widespread, they would likely just settle and use Paypal, for exmaple.

On the other hand, in developing countries there is a real need and demand for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrrencies as a payment method, since the access to US dollars and Euros is rectricted by the state itself, Venezuela and Argentina are good examples of this and the reason exchanges are commonly used to adquire stablecoins and Bitcoin.

People between the ages of 18 to 45 are generally more addicted to Bitcoin and another cryptocurrency. But in this modern world even boys and girls below 18 years of age are now leaning towards Bitcoin. But in my opinion 25-40 year old people use Bitcoin the most. Be it boys or girls

I agree bit O wouldn't say these are people addicted to Bitcoin. Age 25-40 are people who probably have steady job or other sources of income to invest and these over 30 and closer to 40 are very likely involved in Bitcoin for longer period of time and therefore quite experienced and so far witnessed all phases that Bitcoin went through. So, to my opinion one who is investing in Bitcoin for longer period of time and it's patient and aware of all risks but also benefits of long term loyalty to Bitcoin is definitely not a teenager.

~
To be honest, I am not surprised with this considering that NFTs became like a trend around here in my country especially those play to earn games stuffs that I am not really a fan of.
Although that is not Bitcoin, I can see people leaning towards it since it is the dominant crypto of all and you would not fail to see it nor hear it at least once for sure.
Bitcoin has been here for so long, so.... we should expect a lot of "elders".

Thanks for the poll OP! Was expecting more investors to be between 20-30 as has been the case in previous years, or the previous bull/bear market. It's interesting to see from this poll that there are more users between 30-40 these days, even if it's just Bitcoin holders getting older! I think this also shows how Bitcoin itself is maturing, if the age of investors/traders is increasing, it's heading in the right direction.

Interesting to see so few users are under 22, personally I would of expected a lot more.

That's clear, the long term holders and the cryptocurrency users have turned to age above 30 years of age. This makes the age group of 30-40 to be the high volume cryptocurrency holders. The people who came into cryptocurrency for the first time seems to be more into cryptocurrency.

I have to agree with you. These age range are most likely the individuals that who go extra mile and take investments since working alone do not bring big changes in their lives. This was also my age range when i started here, since our mindset is now more open and would likely to get out from our comfort zones and try taking investments. Although there are also beginners that have entered into bitcoining at an early ages, maybe because they have been influenced by some early adopters here, aside from the pandemic that still leaves a huge impact these days.

There are indeed some of younger people who do get engage with bitcoin and example for this one which is 18 years old and already a millionaire.
Erik Finman became a bitcoin millionaire at 18- now he’s thinking about life beyond crypto
https://www.businessofbusiness.com/articles/erik-finman-bitcoin-millionaire-interview/

Honestly, it doesnt really require a specific age for someone to engage on bitcoin or crypto as a whole as long you are aware and knowledgeable and able to take
a good grasp into this market then its somewhat impossible that you wont able to understand and also there's no age restriction or somewhat like this.

I would come in the age group 16-21 in that first poll, and now it's 22-24. I am sure there are a lot more zoomers in the cryptosphere now than before. But they don't use bitcointalk. For them, it's reddit,discord and 4chan.

Unlike before, when most of the neophytes would register on bitcointalk as well. Maybe because due to the hierarchy here based on how old(older=more post &activity=higher rank) your account is. So newbies don't really feel like staying  Huh

So far, according to current vote results, most bitcoiner ages are around 30 - 45. It means most bitcoiners are mature people who probably have enough knowledge about digital investment. I'm not surprised with the current result since mature people who probably brave enough to spend their money on holding Bitcoin. While for young people, it seems a bit risky for them, so they are not brave enough.

This time we can see a good number of youngsters, which means the freshers/beginners with few years of experience in a job.
Yep. Since Bitcoin is more popular and having Bitcoin becomes a usual thing, more young people are interested to join Bitcoin investment. It is a good sign that we will have the young generation of bitcoiners.

This could be a problem but it is the same on other platforms where older more known users are more respected. Maybe it is because reddit for example has also a lot of other communities so many people have already an account that has some trust to it. Also it is just that reddit has a very good design that bitcointalk will never be able to archive with standard forum software. I think in the next bullmarket we see many new users. In the end it is about content and thats where you can't compete with bitcointalk. Even if we maybe should advertise bitcointalk a little more on reddit.

Yep and I think majority or at least those who have at least join in 2017 would be between 30-40 years old by now. And we could say that it is maturing, but nevertheless it will be a cycle. As we graduated and see our first full cycle (bear/bull), we will see a new batch coming along in 2020-2021 and it goes on and goes. And maybe for those younger generations, perhaps it is by chance that they have discovered bitcoin during the pandemic or those age bracket have different mindset, to look for investment and grow their money at a young age.

With all the inflation I see people having less and less money to put in speculative things like crypto. Especially young people can struggle with that even more, since they already only have small amounts. I think what it would need is some kind of marketing in social media, but that is mainly done by scammers that want to sell you trading strategy crap etc.. This actually only scares away smart people and attracts the not so smart  Cheesy

Agree with what you say because sometimes young people are more open-minded, even though it's not like that now.
But maybe in the area I live in, most people who are new to Crypto and who have been in the Crypto world are relatively young on average.
As for maybe people who are already old can only be counted on the fingers because sometimes it is quite difficult to direct people who are more mature to something new.

Some old age hags arent really that open minded on things which are new or been developed on this year or future where they do tend to believe and stick into those old traditional ways where they do only

care but not all old people would be like that since there are ones who do welcome such changes and being that open minded on such new things around thats why its really situational because not all people do have the same mindset and beliefs on particular things in life.Some do stick into those old things and some do welcome new ones.

Age doesnt really matter as long you are able to make yourself learn into this one and pretty much aware on how it works then it would surely count
and wont really be that an issue whether you are 5 years old or 90 years of age.  Cheesy

Well, in this case indeed we also cannot forget old age because indeed not a few of them are also still very active and still like Crypto and their views are clearly very broad.
One example might be Jet Cash which now can be said that he is a senior who is quite experienced in this matter (in my opinion).
He may be one of the members who are not young anymore because he is 80 years old now if you look at his post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5405027.0

Regardless of age, it doesn't make someone narrow-minded, but it's very rare to see parents here and it's an honor for me to know there are old people who are still active and contributing to Crypto.

We know that this is a decentralized and anonymous market or place on where you cant really able to determine on whose old and whose young unless if it was been said or mentioned by someone about
their age or something in related to that but its true that it is really that amazing that some members of this forum which had that old age but still that active and have big contributions in the community.
I wasnt aware of Jetcash age and thanks for mentioning it out which does proves out that people on this forum arent only in mid 30s or 50s but rather having those 80 and above.
Just like i said that age wont really matter as long you do know on how to deal up with crypto despite of the age you do have then i dont see anything wrong.There's no such restriction
or prohibitions.

I don’t think that it is really their fault if they aren’t believing in bitcoin. This generate has seen enormous advanced development and also many of the biggest scams ever. Though some are able to adapt and incorporate advancements in their real life, many aren’t.

Present media talk about Bitcoin collapse will make especially young people nervous. This will lift the average Bitcoin owners age. Bitcoin is now 12 mo low but will raise quickly and rapidly, which brings young ones back.

The image in the above was quite good and clear to me Sir where I could say that the age of bitcoiners are really growing more
and more in the future.

Quote
Cryptocurrencies are particularly popular across developing economies, especially in countries where conventional currencies are more prone to fluctuations in exchange rates.

this is true and correct, fluctuation most of the time happened in the market at the moment
and we all know that because of the volatility the bitcoiners had a chance to have profit in the future
as well.

Lol I include myself, although I'm not in my 30s I'm very close to that age, but I think that all of this those who are between 30 and 40 are the ones who have lived the longest eras of bitcoin, because taking an average, the majority who knew Bitcoin they did from 2014 onwards, and I would have liked to know bitcoin in 2009, but in the place where it was there was almost no internet and there was almost no interest in the forums, everything was more focused on MSN, and it was very difficult to find things like bitcoin over there.

There is no age bracket for the buying and holding of bitcoin, because in the history of bitcoin it is possible to see a good number of youngsters below 18 made their buy when the price was low and have turned millionaires.

What is being discussed in the thread is all about the age of bitcoin users. This means which age bracket people use cryptocurrency much. What the poll states is true, because most of the users who is entered the market when they were in their 24+ years of age have now turned 30+ and this have made the 30-35 choice lead the poll.

But maybe I am just wrong.

i cut my teeth on dial up BBSs in the 70s and 80s, which were very like the forums today.. which because basically internet forums pretty much just emulated the BBS forums that existed back then.

discord.. videos.. bleh. gimme a straight up no nonsense linear forum anyday. easy to read (im pretty much a speed reader anyway), old info can be easily searched for. and old info is kept (usually). bitcointalk has some amazing threads from back in the day if you want a good romp through the early days of btc history.

btw im in the "over 55" club... way over

Looks like you are correct mate ,  because the votes stands to that range of ages and also there are several changes over time  and looks like it is the middle ages in which investors in bitcoin are.
But I must be honest that I am one of those .

but the question only stands here in forum and what about those outside the forum in which there are much more people .

Mostly the people I know are? ages from 40 to 45k as those are the people that i meet either in real life and in groups  though there are also younger but mostly are in this ages.
But it doesn't matter which ages/ the important things is who are the people that truly trusted bitcoin and who will keep their coins on hold for long term.

Why is there a "k" beside 45? Don't confuse age with price mate Cheesy. But, the age group that you mentioned was ranked as second in terms of votes while the age group that takes the lead are ages 30 to 35. Kinda close somehow.

Younger generations are involved late and I think they only came mainly for the profit while those who are much older are involved in bitcoin because of its technology but even if those younger people tend to sell more than hodling, they still have their own contributions here because they can also buy btc especially when the price is dipping and they can also recommend bitcoin to the people that they know.

It might be just some typo or misclicked and hadnt been noticed out but it is really just understandable because it would be no sense if you would really be putting much attention to it.
Age wont really matter honestly as long you are aware on what you are dealing with whether you do come for the money or into its utility then its up to someones choice.
Thing here is that we do able to see its benefits and that what makes support and recognition do even increase as we do go ahead on future years to come.
Age wont be an issue which had been said as long you are aware then neither aged 10 or 100 then it wont really be a hindrance or prohibited thing.

The people or parents who buy Bitcoin for their children and the future are intelligent people, who are clear about what can happen, they know very well that bitcoin in the future will reach a very good price and that the prices right now are a bargain. for the prices that bitcoin will have in about 20 years this is something that few people see but you can't open your mind to everyone there will always be resistance in not wanting to make money or maybe those who say bitcoin will make them lose money, for me they still have a lot to learn.

Yes, the 30-35 year olds who have been simulated the most so far have done it, is it likely to change again? could happen.
that those aged 30-55 are very likely to be the most active, perhaps because they are already well-established in their work, so they are able to manage time, want to know and know what they can do.
while at the age below it is likely to be happier still looking for identity by continuing to communicate directly with their age and still prefer to gather.
only those who want to make a profit and already know the benefits of bitcoin may indeed care more.

It's understandable that most people at the age of 30 will have to find another income generating gigs or investments. Because this is where you get to have a family and will realize you're not just working to earn for yourself but for your family.  So, yeah I am speaking base on my experience. Saving money from banks may not be enough. It's always better to have an invest/asset which would potentially double or triple your savings.

Age 30 is a productive age for us to accumulate as much savings as possible and also wealth in life, because with sufficient savings we can enjoy life easily when we are old or cant work again and I think it's not only for those who are already married, whoever we are should think about the future from an early age and at least between the ages of 30-50 we should already have savings in the form of money or investment.

Actually, I think general data as well as feedback shows that most Bitcoin investors are from the past 1-2 years. So really, it's not investors from 2014 getting older, but more so investors maturing. Which in turn shows that Bitcoin is maturing if the age of investors are, or at least in my mind. No longer is it a fringe currency that only attracts youthful gamblers, but a speculative investment for middle aged folk.

When satoshi released bitcoin in 2009, I thought I was too young to understand bitcoin and all about it and maybe I wasn't ready for it. At that time I didn't think about having an investment because I was still focused on education but after 5-6 years I felt ready and since then I really think bitcoin has opened up many opportunities to get more profit from investing and trading it.

Age probably won't be a debate about whether someone wants to get to know bitcoin, and gender won't be a barrier either. Bitcoin is for all age groups, economic status, education and culture.

DIGITAL 2022: BIG RISE IN CRYPTOCURRENCY OWNERSHIP

wow, is this true? most young age now own btc  Shocked

Anyone can access and invest to crypto world, it only depends of your interest and how will you manage your funds. There's always time for anyone and even though they'll discover it very late, as long as it will give you satisfaction and guarantee, you will always have the great side of it. Crypto is always open for any ages because how will you see digitial world will depend on yout strategy.
I always emphasis on this particular point. So that someone who is interested into cryptocurrency will not be backslide via cryptocurrency investment. I believe from my reasoning that no time someone know or adventure into cryptocurrency that is wrong time of coming to cryptocurrency. What i believe is someone who wants to venture into cryptocurrency should know the rudiments of cryptocurrency at first. Because understanding the basic strategies of cryptocurrency investment, you won't find it difficult to understand the remaining important part of it.

I think as bitcoin matures more and more this is true. There are more and more user friendly solutions, but that was not true when bitcoin came out. There was for example no simple seed phrase that you could write down to back up your wallet which I’m very shure made many people loose bitcoins. All this stuff was very complicated for somebody maybe under 18 years. So as there is more development like phone wallets etc. I think we will see also more young people, even if so far the poll doesn’t reflect it.

Actually this can be the basis when people get to know bitcoin, and that person starts to invest either by mining or by buying it, then he can take action to be ready to participate in the future of bitcoin, of course it is more advisable to know more about the risks and benefits beforehand.

Wow! Time flies so fast. It's unbelievable. I'm getting out of topic a little. It's just that I randomly found this topic while listening to Alphaville's song Forever Young. I nearly voted for the younger age bracket and then I realized that I'm getting older. I'm not going to mention my age though as I made a lot of friends here and most of them although already inactive only know my forum name, the rest remains a mystery.

I also have to agree with you that even if someone has bank savings and an income from their job, this is still not enough for someone who is married and has children. Especially, you will realize when you become a father that we work hard not just for ourselves but for the future of our children as well.

Married people tend to have to generate a lot of money from a variety of sources, so it is not surprising that they look to financial investment channels such as forex, stocks and cryptocurrencies.

I agree with you, because many people at this stage has a good experience to make a good choice to any particular project that will bring in a good profit at the end of the year. Any body above this 30 age has a responsibility he or she is handling in the community to ensure there is no failure that will make people to look at them that they don't have a bright future. Now that the price of Bitcoin has decreased to $23,000 in the market, which is the best time for those that understood how mature people make a good profits from the market not to joke with this bearish season to buy more of bitcoins and hold for the price to increase higher before they can earn well from their investment.

I know some of the traders on social media, and I believe they are no more than 35 years old. Their age range is still very productive and so far I have very rarely found anyone under 18 involved in bitcoin. Young people are starting to be interested in investing, this is the development of a good mindset when they face an unfavorable economic situation. So of course we expect more of their participation because with that this foundation will be even stronger.

~~~
of course it is more advisable to know more about the risks and benefits beforehand.
I'm sure they will learn, but it may take some time to really understand it. Risk management is important, so every investor or trader should understand it.
Cryptocurrency is a business of choice and mind. In actual sense this cryptocurrency stuff don't have anything to do with age. Anyone who want to buy cryptocurrency should you buy it because it does not have an age bracket for investment of cryptocurrency so they are for I support every individual in any time they want to buy Bitcoin for long investment or short investment it depends on the interest as you said above or the person depending on what they want to use it to generate.
The results are turned out to be exactly like how I imagined. If you are "too" young then you are not going to get a good result, because in the end we are talking about people who do not have enough money, if you are "too" old, not in a life span way but more like tech levels, because 55 may not be too old because you may still live another 40 years if you are healthy, but you would be already too late to most new technologies.
But, somewhere in between of 25 to 35 is the peak of both being involved in tech very much, but also making enough money to invest as well. That's where the majority seems and I believe that it will stay that way for a while longer as well even though we would grow old, because new ones will take over.
The very young people in this forum are not very dangerous because the newbies are not that experienced about Bitcoin even though the modern age little currency is quite familiar. But it is best if you are between 30 to 35 years of age You are very experienced about Bitcoin.
Currently the younger generation people are 30 to 35 years old Related to advanced technology. The people of the present age are quite skilled as the current crypto currency is widely used by the younger generation.
You cant say so because even if you are 30-35 years old wont really be automatically considered to be experienced since we know that there are people on this age arent aware on bitcoins existence or
shall we say crypto as a whole and if we do compare to those 20 below or something like that but fully aware on whats happening in this market then there's really a significant difference in between two
which it does really vary on someones experience and knowledge because not all would really be that knowledgeable  and you do really need information at least
for you to be aware.
I may be an old person who joined here at the age of 45 years and maybe one of the women who had time to taste a job as a bounty hunter in the midst of being busy being a housewife and those who are young, many don't join this forum maybe they prefer to jump directly into the crypto world on the grounds that it is faster to make money and scientifically they can easily learn it from various sources because of the large amount of time and less busyness and in addition their brain power is more energetic
Married people tend to have to generate a lot of money from a variety of sources, so it is not surprising that they look to financial investment channels such as forex, stocks and cryptocurrencies.
It's not even necessary you get married first before you find various alternatives to generate resources. But I will disagree to agree with you on the part of crypto currency as a financial investment. Physical and tangibles assets are more reliable than virtual assets when it comes to investments. The volatility of crypto is too high which make it investment too risky.
The volatility may seem high when you start to invest in bitcoin, but after a few years you will be so much in the profit area that you will see that the volatility is not an issue anymore. Still I would imagine that young people are more willing to take the higher risk of crypto since they can take a loss more easily, because they don't have to feed a family. In reality this poll shows, that there are more or less no people under 20 in the crypto space. This surprises me a lot actually.
The lack of younger generation does not surprise me. Only few from a hundred (just a random example) think about the next day. Only few realize that they should start building their future today or even should have started yesterday, but not after they graduate from college. Somehow I am sure that current teenager, instead of investing money, would spend most of them in one day. In fact, a pack of chips, a can of coke or candies today are more valuable then, lets say, having own car in 5 years.
I've noticed that parents care to much about their children. A lot of kids at the age of 20+ still live with parents, while a tens years ago, a lot preferred to leave the house when they hit 18 and start their own life. When you get a lot for nothing, by bother about investment, earning, developing.
Besides, it is summer now. If you would have created this poll in winter, I think results would be a bit different.
I am in this age range and indeed I have enough knowledge about bitcoin for now. The younger generation now sees technology as an opportunity to further develop their abilities in any field, including the economics of Bitcoin or others. I also have many references to learn about bitcoin and its technology, one of which is this forum which is my main source.
But, bitcoiners in their teens today are certainly a great opportunity, because they are the successors. Bitcoin knowledge is easy to get, the earlier they know about bitcoin and its technology, the more prepared they will be to manage it.
As with any financial investment, there is always a risk involved, and I am aware of the risks that may be associated with investing in cryptocurrencies for myself and my family when I make such a decision. I have many different sources of income so investing in bitcoin if I'm not lucky I can manage it and it doesn't affect my life too much.
I myself am quite sure and confident when investing in bitcoin, I don't think this will be a failed investment, on the contrary this investment gives my family many things that I cannot get from my main job outside.
I am very happy to be able to experience pump in early 2017 when I studied bitcoin and not very happy with pump in 2021 because I ran out of capital. At that time I was married, and my age was in the 27-30 range. There is no standard to determine a person's productivity, the truth is trying.
The age between 30-45 years is called the working years or building years in most cultures. This is the age when most families are formed and it is very much about security/financial and health. The money that is saved will then be invested by risk-taking families, and in recent years more and more have been thinking about Bitcoin. After the age of 50-60 years, it is then mostly only health that is important, the money comes after that and many families are financially stable.
I think that is right and these types of investments should be the goal for bitcoin and should be advertised. If people in that age group do invest, it is long term and that will make bitcoin stable. Younger people tend to jump on to trends and do very short term investments, no matter if they win or loose.
If you are above the age of 40 years and over, I think it is no longer an investment for yourself, but for an investment for your family or children, and certainly has a qualified experience, in contrast to those aged 30 years and under, of course there will be a lot of emotion that might have been for you. in control and passion, and it is impossible to think long term investment..
In regards to those threads about age: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5396058.0 and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1529447.0;viewResults I wondered how this changed over time and if the assumptions are correct.
I want to point out that as far as I know nobody (including me) is able to see for what option you have voted if you are concerned about your data.
I voted from age 26 to age 30. At this age people are the most bitcoin earners. If I calculate the age of all the people I have seen working in this bitcoin as an average, I can see that the age of all the people is around 26 years to 30 years old. Then from 30 to 35 and 40 to 45 years There are many people who love Bitcoin. Among them, people aged 26 to 30 years are slightly more.
It's a little difficult to explain about Bitcoin to people, some people just think it's useless and some people just think from the conversations they hear from other people, why do I say that? . Because I'm one of those people who suffer the same fate as you, those people I educate about Bitcoin never think that it's a very good thing to do.
Finally a few years ago Bitcoin proved it, that they were wrong about valuing Bitcoin, and Bitcoin at that time was very popular with the general public. from here I conclude the same thing as you " That age is not the main problem for Bitcoiners and especially for those who believe in it " .
I think it's true man, age is not that big of a problem for Bitcoiners and believers, and with what you said above it's really hard to explain Bitcoin to the general public, many of them don't like it.
Op didnt at least put that  70-90 age bracket considering that there are still people on this age which are actively dealing up with Bitcoin or entire crypto space.  Cheesy
This poll wont really be giving out precise numbers but this would be only isolated for the forum on where most people on that age bracket which is on hanging up into this place
but to consider that this forum isnt everything in terms of engagement then numbers wont really be that precise.
The real thing on here that this doesnt limit out on what age as long you could make yourself engage then it does count.
If we will see years of high interest rates, bitcoin will be more and more unattractive since you will not earn any interest. So maybe the next 10 years or so we will not see a bullmarket again and many here would be to old to not touch their bitcoins for that long of a time it seems.
In the next 10 years we would see a significant rise of younger Bitcoiners as well. Also, coming from this community, as being part of the age bracket 30-35, a significant rise of age bracket 40-45 as well (if some of us are lucky enough to reach that age lol).
 Bull market in a 10 year span, that's for sure.
And yeah, some of us here might want to reap their Bitcoin during that time as ages won't roll back lol.
I am afraid I am much older than many of you guys. I voted the last option as there wasn't any higher class to fall into.
Way more baskets are needed in my case.
Op didnt at least put that  70-90 age bracket considering that there are still people on this age which are actively dealing up with Bitcoin or entire crypto space.  Cheesy
but to consider that this forum isnt everything in terms of engagement then numbers wont really be that precise.
The real thing on here that this doesnt limit out on what age as long you could make yourself engage then it does count.
Also I think there is another aspect to be considered: users on this forum might tend to have an higher age because of the media format. I know many many young kids who don’t really fit into the forum scheme. Thy want discord chat and videos only.
So they could never answer the above poll.
If you are above the age of 40 years and over, I think it is no longer an investment for yourself, but for an investment for your family or children, and certainly has a qualified experience, in contrast to those aged 30 years and under, of course there will be a lot of emotion that might have been for you. in control and passion, and it is impossible to think long term investment..
You cannot judge someone's goals in investment based on age only. Even if you are below 30 years old, if you are a married man/woman, your investment goals are for your family (kids, wife), not only for your own purpose. I think there are no people that have investment goals for an individual purpose, it should be for their family as well.
Anyway, people who are under 30 years old can't be called inexperienced. You are wrong about this. There are many people who are below 30 years old that have much experience in investment. It is because they begin to invest earlier, there are people who started their investment journey when they are 20-22 years old.
Over time, the number of Bitcoins since it was first created until now continues to decrease and time will continue, just as our age continues to grow and as we age means our age decreases. So people I assume are on this forum and who have bought Bitcoin on average 30 - 35 and 35 - 45 because they already understand how Bitcoin will develop in the future.
Woah, surprised that you returned to the thread OP after 3 weeks. Thought that this thread will just die out.
We're still not sure about that, OP since not all the new users would stumble upon this forum. There may be those that just bought their Bitcoin and never touched it ever since and never had the thoughts of having discussion with other people regarding Bitcoin. I would have a rough assumption that there are waaaay more new users than we would think or what the poll is saying. During NFT craze, surely there would be also people that had bought Bitcoin regardless of its price.
most people are buying it because they think it's going to appreciate in the future or they're and they're not transacting with it in their daily lives they're
holding it for the long term and because of that type of price speculation there are a lot of people, especially day traders who use tools or use what's happening on
futures markets to determine the sentiment of where the price is going to go, everyone, wants to have a crystal ball of what the future price of anything is going to be and futures prices you know the last Friday of every month always volatile because that's when the futures expire and people are basing what's going to happen in the next month on that this particular day so on the short term.
Younger people have a lot of interest in technology and investing or creating their own apps.
They learn quickly so it's no surprise these are well represented.
Older people take a long time before decisions to invest in something. They are more wise about money and it's value.
I am currently above 30 years old but when I first entered bitcoin discussions I was like just younger than 25. After 25 I started heavy accumulation and made some money through it. I am suggestion people to learn more and more about Bitcoin, crypto exchanges, blockchain technologies etc. I think people who are like me around early 30s are really lucky. We live good life thanks to Bitcoin in our lives. Long live Bitcoin!
As you said by joining this forum, we can all learn many things and have additional income, there are many things we can do, especially participating in the bounty signature campaign, the pay is quite large compared to other bounties. I've been here for about 6 years and it's really fun meeting new people.
I don't really think that are so many women involved with bitcoin or any kind of cryptocurrency. But anyway, I think that is a nice statistic.
because today's women, have thought investing in crypto could be better and give good returns. compared to investing in a bank that has a period for taking profits
This wouldn't be accurate. I won't expect a non tech-savvy kid (<18 year old) to use an online forums nowadays. Especially a forums with a 2000s layout and a lot of restriction. I am pretty sure there are plenty of teens that uses and invest into Bitcoin. And they are mostly scattered across other social media platform like Youtube and Instagram. Hell, maybe even TikTok.
But it's a good topic. This poll allows us, "older generation" to see the mindset of the people that we communicate with on a daily basis; assuming you use this forums daily.
So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.
Time to be active on the crypto forums again? Proud to be one of the few Legendary members of the Sparkie Red Dot!
Gonna put this on my resume if I ever join a cryptocurrency/blockchain industry!
I wondered how this changed over time ...
Well, we get older over time, that's for sure.   Cheesy
Decades come and go.
When I first heard about and started to use bitcoin I was in my 30s, now I'm way too close to 50s.
So, I'm not sure what to "vote" for.
In regards to those threads about age: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5396058.0 and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1529447.0;viewResults I wondered how this changed over time and if the assumptions are correct.
I want to point out that as far as I know nobody (including me) is able to see for what option you have voted if you are concerned about your data.
bitcoiners must be mostly people aged 30-40
because if you look at the users on this forum, many have joined from 2015 and below.
They must have been around 20-30 years old at that time.
A forum poll might not be accurate enough to reveal the reality, because many people don't answer them and a higher percentage of crypto adopters should participate in order to collect enough data to reach a conclusion.
Despite this, it's well known most crypto enthusiasts are from millennials' generation (1981 – 1996 birth date). Youngest generation isn't too interested in investing money, it seems. At least for now.
There is no limit in terms of age, we often see nowadays many people of various ages have made investments, but almost generally around 20-50 years, this age is more dominant than 60 years and over, maybe that age is more productive in mastering technology, so make it easier for them to invest using this pattern. There is no specific aspect that limits the age, but the age range is more productive as I stated above.
I'm sure the result will be 31-35, 35-40 years of age will get the maximum votes. The same is being recorded in the thread where the voting is done for average age of bitcoiners. This time we can see a good number of youngsters, which means the freshers/beginners with few years of experience in a job. Because during the pandemic these people got into cryptocurrency and now they make a good contribution.
There are more and more friends engaged in and participating in the crypto world, and the age range is also very large. I passed by a national park one day, and there were several elderly people on the park bench, and I sat next to it to rest. I thought their chat was more about children or what kind of activities a certain supermarket is doing, but what they were talking about was: how hardware wallets are used.
It is true that age will not stop people from investing in bitcoin. Even a child whose parents have become investors or the like is very likely to be involved in this investment if his parents have given him the right understanding of bitcoin.
The productive age of learning something technology is also not limited to educational background, in fact many of us do not have a high education background for us to invest. In fact knowledge and learning will give us a lot of experience, this will be useful.
It is crystal-clear that people of all ages are interested in it. Yes, it is true that 30 - 40 year old people are more interested in it.
This poll should be restarted again. I expected that there would be many teens into bitcoin, but now it is coming from 20 and up. Since the pandemic, many teens have been interested in bitcoins and cryptocurrency. Also, I am shocked that there are still older ones here; I am sure they are high-ranking and have made many contributions to the forum. I would not be surprised if people aged 60+ are interested in bitcoin. Overall, this is not a one-sided poll, as people of all ages are present, and many more will be interested in bitcoin in the future.
The seniors I meet don't understand what cryptocurrencies are, or even digital currencies, they just trust the money in their hands or the money in their cards.
The perception of cryptocurrencies also depends on local policies. If it is banned locally, many young people may not know about cryptocurrencies.
I'm over 80, and it annoys me that all these age surveys shut off at 50 or 60. I can remember the sound of doodlebugs flying over London in WWII and gold sovereigns being used as currency. I also own Bitcoin, and run a node.
I can also understand how Bitcoin (a virtual asset) can be a hard asset, and why it is the only crypto with this virtue. It seems that very few of the younger Bitcoiners can understand this
It is true that age will not stop people from investing in bitcoin. Even a child whose parents have become investors or the like is very likely to be involved in this investment if his parents have given him the right understanding of bitcoin.
Now children aged 20 years and over have mastered investing in various aspects, one of which is crypto-related investments, age does not limit one's space to invest, technology has taught anyone to take a role, because the most important thing is one's willingness to invest.
Quote
The productive age of learning something technology is also not limited to educational background, in fact many of us do not have a high education background for us to invest. In fact knowledge and learning will give us a lot of experience, this will be useful.
Technology is not limited to learning, but unfortunately the time frame affects the cycle of the ability to accept technology. People over 50 years old will find it difficult to learn technology, in addition to the sight factor which is no longer normal and too difficult to teach regarding technology, because memory is also another factor for people who are old.
I think the productive age for introducing technology is around 15 to 30 years, they tend to easily understand developing technological systems.
One of the leading researchers into the development of photonic chips, which will replace the silicone chips that are nearing the end of their development possibilities, is an 86 year old woman in China. Age is not a disease, and it only slows your intellectual abilities if you give up or lose interest in innovation.
It is crystal-clear that people of all ages are interested in it.
This is correct, i don't believe that age matters too much, but the interest of the individual. A 20 year old may not be interested in Bitcoin or modern technological stuffs, but someone that is over 75 may be relentless in understanding all about it and even making contributions and developmental suggestions to it; i believe people of all ages are interested in BTC, and their interests may be affected by things like their level of education & knowledge, standard of living, level of income, etc, all of these things with a lot more will affect their interest first before their age.
