I do not know if anyone noticed it... but Preev.com is down. It just gives a message :

Hope someone is doing something about this.... because I use this site every day.

Did some little digging and I have found the bitcointalk account of the owner named fennec. Unfortunately, the account isn't active anymore.

Preev.com's website had previously gone offline multiple times in the past, however it eventually came back online after some time.

I'm guessing this case it's a temporary issue as well (or at least I hope). The last archived page[1] of Preev was in June 21, in which it was still online. So is seems that this issue was just recent.

They don't have an existence in twitter? I had a look at twitter and found preev.pro which looks like same as preev.com however, the price isn't updated there for a long time as I can see 1 BTC = ~$35000 there now lol.

Can't really blame them. Preev seems like a sort of "sideline" project of some dude, not necessarily a huge cashcow like CoinMarketCap/CoinGecko hence them having little to no incentive to actively do marketing on social media.

Hope someone is doing something about this.... because I use this site every day. 

Yeah, still down as of the moment, one of the most used website for me. About 24 hours ago, I saw the price of 1 BTC = 20,820 and I said to myself that the price looks good. However, I'm not seeing any chances in the last couple of hours and when I try to refresh the page it throw me some error. So I have to used CMC or coingecko for a quick glance.

All we can do is wait for the owner and hopefully he will renew it.

I remember that it stopped working several times from 2018 until today, so maybe wait a few days and the problem will be solved.

There is no way for Google to display the actual BTC/USD value at preev.com without accessing the site. We may be seeing a cached version of the data, so it might not be accurate.

I see preev is a thing before but how come people still care to use it while there are lots of alternatives?

Honestly speaking i always just go to google then type "btc to usd" and then something pre made converter show in the search page and input things there.

This is the same happen before I guess it's related to a hosting issue or hosting expired.

According to whois, you can able to contact the domain owner through this link below.

You are correct, a strange coincidence happened that the price of Bitcoin was around 21,200 and when I did a search I found this price, the price is still showing at 21,200 even though we are now at 21,700. 

At least now we can guess when the site stopped

Huge bummer, tried to access the website yesterday to calculate how much I'll get in BTC from my signature campaign, but it was down. At first, I thought (more like hoped) that it was something wrong from my side, but it was clear that it wasn't. It was the first site I used to check Bitcoin's price, since 2013, and it's sad to see it go. It was simple and convenient to use.

I appreciate the contributions of alternative options, but the convenience of typing a short URL (preev.com) to reach a very effective service to convert BTC value to Fiat currencies...has been one of the advantages of using this site. 

It also provided good source data from very large trading platforms to get a very accurate value for the Bitcoin price. Preev.com is a no nonsense service with all the basic features that you want. (No unnecessary bells and whistles and clutter)

How about https://btc2fiat.me/? It should meet most of your criteria. There's also discussion about that website at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5395520.0. Alternatively just bookmark one of website about bitcoin price on your browser.

I've used Preev a lot back then. You use it basically just to have a really light-weight page open and living on one of your tabs that you don't need to refresh. It's mostly just a convenience thing than a feature thing. (at least in my case)
