it is all about on how you look at gambling here. anyone can be addicted to this industry if he doesn't know when to stop. remember, just take for example those games, how people are getting addicted to it once they start playing. so same here with gambling games, esp that money is at stake. the thought of winning adds the excitement here.

I guess it up to the players themselves, maybe there could be some who gamble to have some fun (and willing to lose money that they can afford), or the second set of individuals who wants to win big.

maybe depending in the character or personality of the person involve , this is the reason why some claims that gambling is profitable when they are engaging in gambling all their life.
I have also read some people here that tells they are living solely coming from gambling wins and while I doubt this is true yet its been happening for years now so maybe they are truly making its way to win than losing.

Thinking on the back of their minds. I did win massive amount on gambling in the past, I can do it again for sure. It's a mindset that commonly makes gamblers about winning and becoming gambling in it. It is the same as bad comeback mindset. "I have comeback this before, I can do it now. Perhaps gamblers may have a feeling of "false win", and for him to """fix""" this, he will try to win everything back by betting, but at the same time he can lose everything again and with that he will be inserted in a vicious cycle.

well armed with that experience, someone should limit their excessive activities to gambling, addiction doesn't only happen to someone who doesn't have a job but can happen to anyone, it can happen to you or me, we have many experiences of winning and losing in gambling.

That's why we have odds on sports betting. If it's pure luck then there should have been no odds on each team at all, just flat out 50/50 for them since it's each match is a game of chance. Compared to casino games, sports betting gives people a lot more 'control' on how would they approach their wins. They are given options to choose on where to place their bet, thus in the end they can win pretty easily as opposed to luck-based games out there (dice, slots, roulette).

Greed at its finest.  Even though the person isn't addicted to gambling, greed might have taken over his brain cells.  Greed can vague our thoughts especially when we are aiming too much and if ever that person is a gambling addict, he could have spent all the money on gambling instead of saving the rest so I wouldn't count him as addicted to gambling.

I think everyone has their own principles in gambling, regardless of whether they are addicted, stressed, emotional, anxious, stressed and so on, I often see how people get involved in repeated losing gambles which stress them out and so on.

I'm sure anyone who has had bad luck in betting, they will have a negative effect on themselves, regardless of addiction.

I think what the OP mentioned is more towards crime and character, my understanding is that addiction doesn't harm other people, tend to be more addicted to themselves in making gambling bets, maybe they will sell theirs to bet.
