He needs to win here, but if he losses, there's no other way but to move up in weight, though it will not hype him but IMO, that's the right thing to do for him to be comfortable in maintaining his weight. He will have to start his journey in a new division and hopefully we will continue to support him.

Let's say Jerwin Ancajas will lose here, does it really a good decision to just left that division and moved up?

How can he even get good fights at Super Bantamweight if he is struggling with some of the best fighters in Junior Bantamweight?

If he loses, moving up for me is not a good decision. Start from scratch and have a goal to become a champion again at Junior Bantamweight which is his comfort zone at most points of his career. He dominates that division for several years and I'm sure he can repeat it.

But of course, that was just speculation as I believed he will win here in this rematch against Martinez and then finally move up.

If the problem is weight then definitely he will have to move up because his body can't adapt to this lower weight anymore. And just like what Teo Lopez did, cherry pick a fighter, a boxer that has a good record, but he can easily beat in the fight because he has far more superior skills. It's up to his manager and promotions MP and Sean Gibbons to find him that target in the next weight and work his way up, put up a good string of wins and maybe he will have a crack at the belt again. Jerwin is young so the future is still bright for this kid.

I got the point but isn't it a bad decision to just moved up a weight after losing a match instead of moving up weight coming from a win?

It will be hard for Ancajas to pick a fight in the new division if he came from a loss as promoters might not be bothered to arrange fights involving him.

He is still a former champion, and he could get a favorable rankings from the organizations that he previously held the belt. He still a good name even if he moves to the next division.

So it's bad to stay in a weight division wherein you can't really make weight, another example is Casimero. he wanted to fight Inoue so he stayed in that division and in the first scheduled fight against Butler, he fell ill. And in the second one, he was caught with the Sauna thingy.

He was already struggling to keep the required weight, it's just too bad for Casimero as he was caught cheating, he could have just move up and be the number 1 contender to fight the champion. For Ancajas here, there's still one more chance for him to avenge his loss, if he wins here, people will stop doubting him, if he losses, then no choice for him but to move up.

In the recent article I have posted, it's clear that Ancajas is having difficulty maintaining his weight that's why they hired a new nutritionist to help him be in good shape for this rematch. The camp stated that because of how Ancajas struggles to catch the required weight, he becomes not 100% on the fight which should not be a reason why they end up losing.

We need to trust his team as no choice after all but to support him.

If that's the case then he really needs to work things out just for this fight and he might consider moving to the upper division where he is more comfortable and with some worthy opponents waiting for him. of course, it is completely different and if he can adopt in that weight class as soon as possible, he can also be one of the top boxers there. All he needs to do right now is to train and dedicate this fight for his dream so that he will have a strong motivation to never give up.
Ancajas should give his focus and determination first to win this rematch so he can win back his title too. If he has difficulty in reaching the required weight, for sure the team is already working on it so he will be totally fit for the upcoming fight. I want to bet on Ancajas this time because I know his boxing potentials is high and he has still a lot of rooms to grow.

He was the champion, this fight is just his chance for him to get back the belt, so nothing new here, he just have to make an improvement and beat Martinez. However, if the outcome will be the same as in the previous fight, then there's no room for him to grow anymore in this division, the next step should be leaving the division by going up.

this is indeed a challenge on ancajas to get his title back. the required weight should not be a problem at all, because it needs work from himself and his camp. it should not be a problem at all but should focus on their strategies how to win his title back. as he already knew the possible weaknesses and strengths of his opponent, should not be too difficult for him to identify what areas he needs to take care of.

A challenge that he must overcome at all cost because he will be just like his fellow Filipino boxer, Casimero, if that weight issues will keeps on surfacing especially now that the schedule is near. I guess that would be the toughest challenge a boxer could face in his career because his enemy is also his own self as it is preventing him to fight in his comfortable division.

It's not what we want to see because it will only reflect that Jerwin Ancajas lacks the discipline of maintaining his weight, he was the champion, it's better if he will win here before moving up in weight so he can still carry the hype in the new division. It's just unfortunate that he gassed out in the previous fight, you can tell he wasn't throwing powerful punches anymore, he was just fighting looking for a miracle shot to KO his opponent while trying to keep his legs standing.

Enough for the talking, all I know is that he has another chance to correct his mistake and take the championship again. Let's just hope that he will be fully prepared to go to the fight and he won't be injured while in the ring. I know it's not an easy fight for him as he might be affected mentally, but he has to beat that to beat Martinez.

Anyway, let's just move on and focus on this championship fight.

It's good to see him more comfortable and not that exhausted due to heavy training and diet to meet the weight.

Now that he is trying to reclaim his belt, it would be nice for him to showcase his talent and not to let his fans from this rematch.

More training is important, and the most important thing is that he will be fit in the fight so in the end he won't be exhausted.

It's not that Inoue delayed the fight, it is supposed to happen, Casimero will just have to win his fight against Butler. Unfortunately, he lost everything even before the actual fight happen. So now Inoue proceeded to fight Butler for all the belts. It's really on the side of Casimero, he was going full retard on social media sharing everything even before the actual fight including the sauna that violated BBBoC rules regarding losing weight days before a fight.

Ancajas is surely making a lot of preparations before the fight while the boxing organizers are still giving him another chance to show his skills and confidence. And the fact that winning this title will be his key to move up in division, then losing again should be out in the picture. After all, we have witnessed how Ancajas played in his previous games, he has the gut and skills, and improving his performance in the ring will make him another champion in the making.

Let's just give Ancajas the benefit of the doubt too because having a sudden exchange of opponent will of course make him struggle or any boxer in the industry as Ancajas himself didn't prepared for Martinez.

We should not point out that Ancajas is not prepared for Martinez where the result didn't not favor the former. Either way, he still prepared since he has an upcoming match. The only difference is he didn't know how Martinez fight but still he prepared. As mentioned by others, Ancajas being not 100% in the fight is because of his struggle to catch the required weight.

We can't conclude that even there's no replacement happened and Ancajas able to push a fight against Kazuto Ioka, he will win on that fight. It's really hard to be at 100% on the day of the fight if the training is just focus on maintaining his weight most of the time.

Ancajas needs to win the rematch really badly and mandatorily in order to get a ticket in fighting Ioka next. If he will lose here, he will surely still struggle if he moved up weight as there are lots of good fighters too at the Bantamweight division that he will face.

Well, I also agree with that motion, we cannot say that Martinez has already won the fight, except in boxing, which is a sport where anything can happen, even if a fighter comes from a failure with another, this is changeable, because a boxer who has lost to another I think it is much more dangerous than one who has been winning, because the one who always wins is sure of the level he has while the other trains very hard so that he can be at the level and surpass him, this is what What I like the most about boxing, however, there are boxers who get it into their heads that they will box with champions and fight with respect and that is where everything fails.
He needs to win here, but if he losses, there's no other way but to move up in weight, though it will not hype him but IMO, that's the right thing to do for him to be comfortable in maintaining his weight. After all, we have witnessed how Ancajas played in his previous games, he has the gut and skills, and improving his performance in the ring will make him another champion in the making.
Well, here Martinez wants to show that he has not had any kind of luck, but that he is a complete boxer who does not need more than his own strength and technique to get his fights in Victoria, of course Ancajas is a boxer who knows how to what goes, that they have nothing else but to win, honestly, Puma Martinez wants to destroy everyone who gets in his way, but now I have seen a very positive attitude from him, and this is something that gives me a lot confidence to see this fight, because I know that it promises and that it will not disappoint us, for me Ancajas if he wants to show that he is the best he must win this fight.

Yes and it boils down to his preparation in this fight whether he can get back his belt or not. So he invoke this rematch clause to fight Martinez once again. It's a big risk on his part, because he is claiming that he lost because he can't make the weight anymore or at least his body has difficulty making the required weight. So whether he wins or lose in this fight, the best options is go up another weight class so that he won't put pressure on his body to cut weight because it is going to be very hard.

I wouldn't directly say that he Casimero is cheating though, probably most boxers are doing that sauna thing to lose more liquid in their body prior to the fight and it could be the norm. What hurts Casimero is that he still has a lot of weight to lose days before the fight. So the issue is that him or someone from his team didn't monitor his weight and didn't do their assignment as far as safety is concern regarding losing that extra pound. But the focus now is Inoue vs Butler, but I'm not sure if the door is close between Inoue and Casimero. Maybe in the next weight class we will see them fight.

That could be cheating but it's not worst, he was just trying to pass the minimum weight requirement, the biggest cheating actually happened in the ring, either coming from the boxers or the judges, but on the judges, it's more common.

Speaking of Casimero, I wonder what is he up to now because he should at least make some statement that he will climb through the next weight class because it was already clear that bantamweight is not for him anymore and fight this year too because he was already 1 year inactive last August. Anyway back to this fight, I think it's time for Ancajas to move too if he is truly struggling to make the required weight in this division but for now, he should try and settle his score first against Martinez before deciding what he should do next.

That kind of plan might need to wait, because Ancajas needs to focus on this upcoming rematch. It will give him a chance to hype his career and reclaim his former title before he decides to move up. If he's really struggling with maintaining his weight. We know how important a title is for every fighter. They need to carry a good name to make sure that they will have another money fight and secured their future finances.

So far, Ancajas is already working with his weight and as far as I remember, he already has dietarian to take care of his health while working with his usual trainings and sparring drills.

Well, from the point of view of betting, it's something else, but I think that this time Martinez really wants to stand out and from what I've read the boxer has very good technique, at a professional level I'm sure he won't do badly, so I have seen, some give Ancajas the winner, but in my personal opinion Martinez is a clear winner for me, obviously without going through Ancajas's abilities, Martinez is a boxer who for now will be measured with a higher degree of demand, here he can discovering that there is a business model that is impressive, and the statistics are supporting it, I wonder if it goes 3:1 how it will be in less time, will the ratio increase?

On the first fight it was obvious that Martinez was the clear winner, it was not a controversial fight as even the fans of Ancajas believe that Martinez won. Well, we are now in the rematch, I'm just hoping that Ancajas will make the right adjustment so it will not again result in a one sided fight.

No debate on that, Ancajas looks exhausted in that fight, so it's time for him to bounce back by winning the fight. I know it's easier said than done but I still believe that Ancajas is capable of doing that, he work his way to become a champion, he would not give up that easily, and winning here means him becoming a champion once again.

He cannot make another excuse if he will lose in the rematch (this fight), he has to give everything he has in order to get back the belt and be declared as a champion again. He is the hope of the Philippines because we only have few champions, and if there's a Filipino champions, people are more eager to watch the fight which could create unity to the people.

That fact alone will be one of the reasons why Ancajas should be more eager to get the belt that was once safe in his possession before he got lost by a first time title challenger, Martinez. Let's just give Ancajas the benefit of the doubt too because having a sudden exchange of opponent will of course make him struggle or any boxer in the industry as Ancajas himself didn't prepared for Martinez.

Well everything revolves around Ancajas for now, I know that many know Ancjajas better, but for now Martinez is doing everything possible to stand out and take the wins, for now if Martinez gets this win it will undoubtedly open all the doors for that he can have great fights, he will also discover that fighting professionally will bring him a lot of money, which is something that can be a great motivation, with all that I think that the boxer will not want to contemplate a defeat for anything in the world and when he sees that the model of business is very profitable, he will always want to look for the best fights, and the more famous boxers the more money for him.

I really wouldn't have much faith in Ancajas, although at one point he was very good, I think he has lowered his performance, and when I say performance I mean his physical condition, in his fights he manages to show a clear fatigue, but of course he is very remarkable, I know that everyone gets tired, but it is more noticeable to him, and on the other hand Martinez is in great shape, he is gaining much more fame and I think he has much more motivation than ever, I think these things help a lot and it is something to be taken into account.

Now I don't know, I think that the capacities that Ancajas can develop in the last few months that he has prepared should be taken into account, this can be very decisive.

I guess we can call it that way, it's a faith that he can redeem what he lost in their first encounter while also supporting Ancajas regardless of the result because he is a fellow countrymen.

I think that fatigue we saw on Ancajas is a result after he met the required weight because days before the fight, he's still struggling to meet the weight needed while he is training in double as there's a last minute replacement which is Martinez. That's why he looks like he didn't have enough energy. But we'll see it this time as things could be much more different than their first fight.

Well, I think that this mistake of tiredness must be working on him even more Ancajas, this fight will have less tiredness for him, so I imagine that his training must be to resist much more, and that is one of the most difficult to train, some boxers have great stamina just because of pure genetics, but in his case he has to work hard because if he makes the same mistake again, one of the things that Ancajas will have the most for this match will be a lot of stamina, but this is well, because Martinez will also go all out, he won't want to miss out on the golden opportunity he has to make himself known even more.

So it's bad to stay in a weight division wherein you can't really make weight, another example is Casimero. he wanted to fight Inoue so he stayed in that division and in the first scheduled fight against Butler, he fell ill. And in the second one, he was caught with the Sauna thingy.

So far, Ancajas is already working with his weight and as far as I remember, he already has dietarian to take care of his health while working with his usual trainings and sparring drills.

That is very interesting, from what I see Ancajas needs much more for things to go well for him and he can recover many things, I don't know but I think he should do everything possible to win, and the way Martinez describes it he is clear and will not make it easy for him, Martinez's preparation has been very strong and he has made a lot of effort, nothing more than the fact that he can score a victory over Ancajas is something that can boost his career, for me Martinez has found in boxing the professional path that life is showing him, is something that not everyone sees and some give up, I see that Martinez has a lot of spirit in his fights.

It's been a while that we are not hearing from him, maybe he is just preparing for a big fight in his comeback, not a championship fight but everytime he is in the ring, it's always entertaining as long as his opponent is willing to fight. He should move on from his mistake, he cannot go back in bantamweight again as he cannot control his weight, so it's time for him to move on by moving up.

There's no news about him, but you can follow his youtube channel to get some information from him.
Quadro Alas it’s my boy

I'm sure he will not quit boxing, he is still a good contender, he just has to continue working out to prepare for his next fight.

About the fight of Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas, are the betting odds already available?

^ Last time I checked the odds are still not listed on our favorite crypto sport bookies.

And like fights that are lesser known, or like the first one, the odds were just released days before the fight itself, so I'm expecting the same. Nevertheless, the fight is just less than a month, and I'm speculating that training for both camps are in full swing and hopefully Ancajas weight issues could have been approached differently by his camps in this rematch so that there will be no excuses, win or lose on his side.

If Martinez wants to maintain the hypes in his career, winning is the only option, while in the other side it's also what Ancajas trying t achieved bringing back his belt and a possible to move up and challenge much bigger fighters in the next division. I like that idea if both fighters are doing everything to have that edge over another, the winner here most likely will be the fans that will enjoy the fight inside the ring.

He needs to maintain his weight while doing extra trainings and sparrings, if he wanted to win over Martinez he needs to condition and make sure that he really prepared both physically and mentally, he's still young and if the goal is to win more titles or have a much better life like Pacquiao and Donaire, he needs to win this fight and reclaimed his belt.
