I don't think it was a mystery because after all Real Madrid is still a very strong team and we have seen that in the beginning of the second half against Manchester City. That was some of the best soccer they have played this season and you could literally see how Manchester City had trouble to defend against it and regain control over the game. That was only possible because De Bruyne scored that spectacular goal.

But until then Real Madrid eliminated Liverpool in the round of 16 with a total of 6-2 goals. Afterwards they took on Chelsea with 4-0 goals. One difference compared to other seasons was that both Liverpool and Chelsea haven't been in good shape, but still the way Real Madrid solved both those problems was very convincing. They also demonstrated their strength in the second leg against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey. But they found their masters with Manchester City in the second leg and that was not surprising. You could feel that Manchester City would confidently finish them off.

Nothing is a mystery when a team is not optimal in the local league, but has good results in other competitions. I can understand why Real is better in CL they have some older players which can not keep up to play so many games so they focus on more important games. Well they were successful last season, they won both the CL and the la liga, thus i don't think the hierarchy at Real Madrid would be annoyed with how things panned out this season, at least they didn't end the season trophyless, they won the Copa del rey. Real Madrid would definitely be back next season, they are a giant club, thus they are always there every season competing for trophies. Ancelotti has confirmed that he will be their manager next season, and with the potential arrival of Jude Bellingham and other players they'll get, i am pretty sure they'll be very competitive next season.

Real Madrid have struggled this season because they still relied almost entirely on last season's squad. Los Blancos setbacks began to show in the middle of the season and some of its players like Benzema have been struggling with injuries very often. Madrid's management should have bought new players in the mid-season transfer market to refresh themselves, but in fact they were adamant not to carry out any activity during the transfer window. I also agree with you, one of the factors for the success of Manchester City is because it is managed by a great coach who has a lot of experience. Guardiola has previously achieved success with Barcelona and Bayern Munich, he has also managed to change the playing style of his team as desired. The success that Manchester City achieved was because Guardiola was on the sidelines. It is impossible for every club to have such long dominance in the Champions League and for Real Madrid I think their dominance is over for now and in the future it is not certain that Real Madrid will again reach its peak of glory in the Champions League, because after all they have to fix some weak points who are in the main squad. As a coach he has no doubts about his ability to make the club he leads organized in many ways. Especially if the club he leads has stable financial capabilities, it will make it easier for him to do something related to money. CL isn't over yet so I still can't say that Guardiola has been a perfect success even though Manchester city has won the English league trophy this season, but we don't know who will be the CL champion this season, Manchester city still has to deal with Intermilan and this is where Guardiola has to be able to convince everyone that he really succeeded in making Manchester City a club that should be respected by opponents.

I know some people might think that Manchester City can easily win the CL by beating Intermilan, but don't underestimate Intermilan's opponents either because they might surprise Manchester City. My hope is that Guardiola is really successful in bringing Manchester City to a treble winner

Without a player transfer it is impossible. At the moment Real Madrid are in a difficult position, they have good players with a young age. The best move is to start regenerating players. If they are still passive like last year, it will make them bad. They won't be able to compete without player updates. Bringing in experienced young players with a long period of time is certainly profitable. Maybe Mbaape can make them different. Coupled with Beligham, it is certainly good enough to replace Kroos and Modric.
