I imagine several variables need to be analyzed, if in a way, gambling is harming you, your personal and professional life, it is totally valid for you to think about these acts and realize that it is harming you.

But if the person is not addicted to gambling, manages to perform their tasks in their day and in general it doesn't harm them, I don't see this as a critical reason for you to stop gambling.

Depends on the situation because there are some girlfriends who doesnt really like for other things to get the attention of their boyfriends.  Even though spending money isnt that much

If my girlfriend is being reasonable in making me quit gambling because she is seeing massive changes in me that negatively affects my well-being, our relationship, the people around me, and financial aspect, then I will listen to her. Depends on the situation, if she thinks that I'm doing really bad gambling habit then I might consider to stop as it means that she cares about me.
However, if I think that I'm not doing something wrong because I know how to gamble responsible then there is no reason for me to stop because I like it.
