I have never seen where a woman stopped someone from drinking alcohol, I have not seen also where a woman stopped someone from smoking. So, I also doubt that girlfriend can stop someone from gambling. What women do is to make the victim to minimise how they gamble or so, or do it without her knowledge. That means a girlfriend will not totally stop a gambler but can make a gambler not to be an addict.
