Did the forum stop using cloudflare and instead opt for an alternative?

Today I noticed when loading a page that it was not the common Cloudflare page we had got accustomed to but instead a new layout of possibly another DDoS attack protection tool that I personally don't know about as you can see in the screenshot



Did the forum decide to use another DDoS attack protection tool?
If yes, what's the name of the new alternative?

To check it yourself using your browser: Right on this page, open "inspect" ("F12" or "Right-click->Inspect") and go to 'Network' tab
Next, do some activity like clicking Bitcointalk's homepage and the Network's 'name' tab should be populated,
click on "index.php?...." and click the "Headers" tab at the right side, the server should under "Response Headers".

Check if it's still Cloudflare.

I noticed exact same page on few different websites that also use cloudflare service, so I can confirm that bitcointalk forum is still using cloudflare and that can be confirmed with their certificate.
It would be great if there was better alternative for cloudflare but I don't think something like this exist or at least it's not as effective as cloudflare for DDOS attacks.
If I was in charge of bitcointalk I would also remove google search and replace it with some better alternative that respect privacy.

Cloudflare does its job pretty well. Not to mention their CDN coverage is pretty wide.

If you're a website owner, it offers analytics and security, decent enough on their Free plan.

I noticed it accidentally few days ago, but forgot to post about it. I was almost sure that they moved from Cloudflare and I even thought that Bitcointalk developped their own anti DDOS protection.
I remember that when theymos enabled Cloudflare, he was very sceptical about for privacy issues and that it may be potentially owned US intelligence agencies, but he had no other choice. But after all, Cloudflare is doing their job well.

Forums operate globally, forums are included in websites with a global server network controlled by Cloudflare, situations like this often occur in global traffic networks.

So, when an unsafe situation is detected or a dangerous attack such as DDoS by Cloudflare, Cloudflare automatically secures the website or internet application under its control, Not only website forums or other internet applications are the same, the aim is to optimize, secure and speed up the website again without harmful attacks.
In essence, Cloudflare does a good job of protecting websites or internet applications so, there is no need to worry about that, if the situation is safe and optimal everything will return to normal.

Likewise myself, I was away but I recieved about two different phone calls asking me why the forum was down. Even without checking to know, I told them it was cloudflare and that it will return to normalcy in a short time. I was also informed that even X was affected.
So, with my age in this forum, I already know the circumstances that will make the forum inaccessible.
A few other threads about this attack have been bumped and they dated years back, which means this has been a re-occurring event. Unfortunately, we don't have an alternative.

I saw it earlier when it happened but I refused to panic like I knew everything is going to normalize just a matter of time, of course is nice having the forum working back again in it's usually way without interruptions, this was not the first time is happening but i observed that the one that occurred today took much more longer time to be restored compared to the previous happenings. A big pity to newbies that maybe happens to be experiencing this for the first time it will definitely raise panicking.

Plenty of websites that use Cloudflare were temporarily down, including x.com and ChatGPT. I just do hope people were not affected when opening and closing positions when trading, in case some exchanges use the service as well.

I think this is a second large scale case after AWS outage last month

However, the big issue is how powerful these services have turned into in away that once they sneeze, a big percentage of the internet catches a cold. Where in for dangerous times ahead.

I was replying someone and when I was done writing I now wanted to post and that was how I was not able to in fact I tried logging in but I was unable to have access to the forum, I refreshed my chrome browser over and over again but I couldn't have access to the forum and at some point I gain access and I quickly write again and posted, one thing I notice was that it was going and coming, you can login now and before you know it you can't anymore you won't have access to the forum again it was really frustrating yesterday, it was later I know it was not only on this forum that had that issue, it was an issue associated with sites that used Cloudflare so it was not a forum problem it was Cloudflare issues, I even saw a statement by Cloudflare apologizing for the inconvenience I really don't know how true that statement was but I'm happy forum is back to normal.

TLDR: The issue was caused by a change to one of their database systems' permissions, which caused their software to fail.

They all have the same problem. You choose one, and it goes offline for any reason, and your website is toast.

I wish there was a way to combine CDNs. But I'm not sure whether that is even possible, unless you can have multiple nameservers pointing to different CDNs at the same times.
