That's right. If Bivol prioritized money, he could've accepted Canelo's offer to let the rematch happen at super-middleweight instead of light-heavyweight. Bivol could've agreed since he is a small light-heavyweight anyway. Bivol could've asked for more money guarantees.
But if the fight will happen at super middleweight, Canelo would risk all of his belts and Bivol actually become a challenger here. It doesn't make Canelo gain anything if he win against Bivol, so it doesn't make any sense for Canelo fight on super middleweight. I think it would be on the light heavyweight fight, since Canelo losses on that division. This will be a great fight tbh because both of them have different techniques to handle their opponents based on their previous fights . And that's why I'm not surprised why they own a great records in boxing history, wherein surely this will be a tough fight for both sides especially for the undefeated that needs to keep his belt and to maintain the good record.
Yeah both of them have difference stance, Bivol is an orthodox style (right handed) while Ramirez is southpaw style (left handed). In theory southpaw is better than orthodox since it's more flexible. But Bivol's left hand is strong too and he mostly combine left jab-hook then he will punch with his right hand. Southpaw being better than orthodox is just a myth . There are lots of southpaw boxers being trashed by the orthodox boxer. It is that southpaw has the advantage because of the number of orthodox boxers swarming the boxing industry. Meaning Southpaw boxers has more chance of being exposed to Orthodox boxer so they get used to the orthodox boxer while orthodox seldom face southpaw boxer making them feel a bit awkward when they met one.

Yes, Canelo and Hearn doesn't have much choice but to agree with Bivol's decision as he already earned the right to demand in case a rematch will happen even if the fight will be contested at 168 pounds. But before that, we know Canelo's camp are still observing what will happen on Bivol's upcoming match as that will determine if they will activate the rematch or not. We will know about it more soon, just like what you've said.
Agree to that, Canelo's camp might change direction once Bivol got upset with Ramirez. As far as I remember, he said that he's not willing to fight to any of his countrymen, but the chance of seeing a rematch is possible. Pride and money I guess Alvarez knew that if the rematch takes place, his fans will surely support him and it will generate a decent amount of money. Win or lose both fighters will be secured by huge amount, but like what we mostly said, Bivol will be wiser now. He's the belt holder if, in case he also beats Ramirez, money should be flowing for him this time.

After Ramirez, there's only the Beterbiev-Bivol undisputed fight that is supposed to happen at 175. Other than Beterbiev which is difficult to negotiate due to its different promoter and network, pretty sure small Bivol would be willing to drop to 168 for more money and the chance to become undisputed if this is the weight Canelo wants for the rematch.

Bivol and Ramirez are both undefeated but the pressure is on Bivol because fans are still going crazy from that upset he gave to Canelo Alvarez recently and because he is the defending champion while Ramirez is just a challenger for the title. The expectation is high for Bivol here but judging Ramirez's record, he is not an easy opponent and had a much higher KO ratio than Bivol. Nonetheless, I expect a good entertaining fight given that both fighters are undefeated.

I agree that it will be the fight the we have been waiting for the 175. I mean we have seen this year a lot of unification fight and so this is the right move for the division. However, as you have said, negotiation could be hard because of the promoter and Network. So it will be hard decision for Bivol, whether stay at 175 or go down to challenge Canelo at 168.

It was stated on one of the articles released that Bivol is more inclined toward a title fight than having a rematch against Canelo. If the match between Bivol and Ramirez goes the way we expected then there is more chance of Beterbiev-Bivol if both parties agreed. If ever Canelo and Bivol had a rematch it is more likely on Bivol's comfortable weight class since it is where the first fight happens. If both party is eager for that rematch but cannot agree on the weight Division then a possible catch-weight fight might happen.

That really Bivol's goal instead of going in a rematch with Canelo. It's clear and he mentioned it before that he is chasing more titles rather than putting up a fight in a non-title just for money. A good plan to chase more titles as the more he is recognized, the more money will flow on him.

But if ever Bivol stops Ramirez, Canelo might activate the rematch but I'm not sure if there will be a difference and I don't seriously think that he'd be willing to host Bivol in his comfortable division knowing that his chances is not that much, he'll be stripped of his title and belts if Bivol will defeat him in 168 pounds. It's still much better for Canelo to contest the fight at 175 pounds as there is nothing to lose in his side anymore, it won't be his first time too if he'll get defeated. Second scenario is that Canelo will have to wait first until Bivol and Beterbiev will have the undisputed fight as Bivol is not prioritizing Canelo. But it got me thinking, what if Bivol will get the undisputed crown? Will Canelo chase him still? A Bivol-Beterbiev fight is not that too impossible as Bob Arum already said that he'll be willing to give Beterbiev his chance to unify the belts after his title defense against Yarde this January 2023, but with a condition, the fight will be hosted by ESPN and not by Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing.

Well, it's not new anymore that people wanted some spices before the actual fight to somehow make the fight more interesting. I know Zurdo is one of a kind but he needs to prove himself first against Bivol before starts boasting and saying lines like that.
Well, you are right about that, what happens is that boxers have a lot of that fame of doing and saying things to make them have more rivalry, in part it is also part of the show and taking into account how the business model is, this is something common, Of course, one thing is that he can carry out those orders and another very different thing is that he himself does it by his own incentive to make him angry, in reality I do not know why he would have said it, however it cannot be denied that this puts him a lot of picnate and makes the match much more interesting, the emotions heat up even more and they can make decisions that can have repercussions inside the ring. It was stated on one of the articles released that Bivol is more inclined toward a title fight than having a rematch against Canelo. A good plan to chase more titles as the more he is recognized, the more money will flow on him. In part I understand Bivol's strategy, the Russian still knows how to play his cards very well, he is a very intelligent person, we all know that he is chasing more money, but it is much more profitable to become more famous so that his reputation grows more, the fans acclaim him and make fights with much more scope, that have much more publicity, by winning more titles he knows very well that he can have multiplied money, and he will also have titles that are so infallible in boxers, obviously the case of Canelo is something that he sees as something inferior, Bivol wants to go far beyond a simple rematch, he doesn't want a little, he wants it all, the Russian really has all my respect. Yes, Canelo and Hearn doesn't have much choice but to agree with Bivol's decision as he already earned the right to demand in case a rematch will happen even if the fight will be contested at 168 pounds. For everything that has been said, in context it can be said that the one with the least chance despite his recent triumph is Canelo, I think the worst mistake is that Canelo has let the RUSSIAN win, now the Russian has had more commitments what he wants to achieve, more titles, and fights that can really elevate him, clearly Canelo at this moment is not in the best position, however he advocates that his fight be prioritized and that some results be given that can facilitate the path to rematch, but it is good as they have said, the priority right now is not the rematch against Canelo, it is the growth of the Russian to higher standards, for now I think that the best thing Canelo can do is prepare, if the fight with Bivol does not take place, he has to win against all the boxers that come to him.
A little more about their fight:
Dmitry Bivol vs. Gilberto Ramirez – fast approachingTwitter: https://twitter.com/MatchroomBoxing/status/1578713064102207488“It’s a very complicated fight with Ramirez being a southpaw. He’s long, he’s rangy, and he’s going to want to come and box Bivol,” said Alexis Rocha to K.O. Artist Sports.
“Bivol is a boxer as well. If Ramirez comes to change up his style, I think Bivol is going to want to box him and counter-punch him, so it’s going to be an interesting fight to see.
“I’d give the edge to Ramirez in that. The longer fighter, not the fresher fighter, but the longer and more skilled fighter, I would say,” said Alexis. Source: https://www.boxingnews24.com/2022/10/dmitry-bivol-vs-gilberto-ramirez-fast-approaching/This really itches and spreads, things are getting very interesting, this fight is getting into one of the most interesting and that little by little the bettors are putting more pressure on it, currently I would not know who to go for, I still have many doubts.

Canelo may have the power to activate the rematch but seriously, he cannot demand Bivol to fight him in super-middleweight as in the first place, Canelo lost the fight in light-heavy so if he wishes to fight Bivol once again, it should be in the same division. Speaking of Bivol, Beterbiev and Ramirez, these three undefeated boxers is not avoiding any fight and they are the main reasons why the light-heavyweight division is now interesting. Forget Crawford and Spence, I do believe that one of them is really avoiding the fight to protect their record, and one of them is playing Mayweather's book.

It was stated on one of the articles released that Bivol is more inclined toward a title fight than having a rematch against Canelo. If the match between Bivol and Ramirez goes the way we expected then there is more chance of Beterbiev-Bivol if both parties agreed. That really Bivol's goal instead of going in a rematch with Canelo. It's clear and he mentioned it before that he is chasing more titles rather than putting up a fight in a non-title just for money. A good plan to chase more titles as the more he is recognized, the more money will flow on him. Good foundation if you wanted to earn a huge amount of money, Having more titles means a big weight to your name, if he established his goal and win more belts, it will be those known challenger that will bring you millions, I'm sure it will be another interesting fight if he win this upcoming fight and have a talk with Beterbiev camps. A title match that will allow him to gain more popularities. Imagine beating Alvarez then afterwards if luck fate permits, he also beats Beterbiev. That would be great for his entire career. Expect huge money will flow in each title to defend that he will fight.

A good plan to chase more titles as the more he is recognized, the more money will flow on him. Ok that is good if he really wanted to have more belts or unify the LHW division. Nevertheless, if his advisors are going to tell him the right way, it will be better to go for Canelo. Money will flow and will be on the table, and he will solidify his legacy if he ever beat Canelo again. And chances are he can do it again because he dominated him in the first fight. But he had his hands full in Ramirez, another rugged Mexican that might suit Bivol's style and so it will be a war between this two. But as motivated to win because of the possible fight for Canelo or Beterviev.

Since it's already clear that Dmitry Bivol's goal, priority, and purpose is to achieve more belts or to make it short, unified all the titles in the Light Heavyweight Division, a rematch with Canelo Alvarez might probably not happen even if the stake money is big. If ever he will win against Zurdo Ramirez and Beterviev will also wins in his upcoming match, there's no reason now for Bivol and Beterviev to meet now at the top for a unification match. Let's wait for the result first of this fight and also for Beterviev's fight. After that, we can now make speculations on what fight will be close to happening next.

Most of us are expecting Bivol to beat Ramirez. So what if Bivol stops Ramirez? Do you guys think that Canelo is brave enough to activate the rematch clause? Or maybe Canelo will ask Bivol to rematch him at 168 which is the more comfortable weight for Canelo? Depends on what is written on the rematch clause, for sure this might have been included whether 168 or 175 will be the weight in the rematch. I believe the rematch clause is at 175 otherwise people won't be asking about Bivol's willingness to drop in weight. If ever Canelo and Bivol had a rematch it is more likely on Bivol's comfortable weight class since it is where the first fight happens. If both party is eager for that rematch but cannot agree on the weight Division then a possible catch-weight fight might happen. Yeah, the rematch clause should be at 175. But if Canelo, Matchroom, and DAZN pay more then maybe Bivol would drop to 168 for that and for Canelo's undisputed belts. I guess Bivol won't agree to a catchweight which is the same light-heavyweight division. So it's either 175 or 168 only. At this stage of Canelo's career, he is not scared of fighting anyone. He is already the biggest star in this sport. So I think he is very willing to face the challenge of becoming an undisputed champion at 175. But what remains to be seen here is the expiry of the rematch clause. Was it valid for 1 year only or it could be at a maximum of 2 years? I think it is only good for 1 year or 1 year and 6 months. 2 years is way too long, maybe Bivol is at cruiserweight by that time.

Even 168 seems to be few for Dmitry. He is a big guy by nature. I just cant imagine him being 168. Dmitry seems to be +85kg in off season and 79.4 (or 175lbs) on the scales. Dropping almost 10kg just to have a rematch? It is Canelo, who needs to gain weight and fight in 175, to rebuild reputation. Canelo needs to beat Dmitry "on Dmitry's field", to gain confidence and respect back. What is the point for Dmitry to cut, when it was Canelo who wanted to test himself in light heavyweight.

Yes, I think if there will be a rematch between Dmitry and Saul Alvarez it will be 175 lbs. Alvarez can definitely made 175 lbs easy, but Bivol will have problems making that weight. And if I'm not mistaken, the first fight is 175 lbs so not sure why they need to change in the rematch unless Alvarez wants to take advantage of making Bivol life very difficult because he will have to squeeze his body to super middleweight.

On the one hand, I agree that these are Canelo's problems, since he needs a revenge to restore his reputation. But we must also not forget that if Bivol loses weight, then this will not give Canelo any advantage - on the contrary, Bivol will gain an advantage. Most athletes use methods to cut weight to the desired numbers through various procedures, as a result of which weight is lost due to dehydration and fat burning. Muscles remain in place. Thus, when fighting in a lower weight class, Bivol will be just as strong and perhaps even a little faster. Therefore, I think that Canelo will try to gain weight himself in order to fight in the Bivol weight category.

After Ramirez, there's only the Beterbiev-Bivol undisputed fight that is supposed to happen at 175. Other than Beterbiev which is difficult to negotiate due to its different promoter and network, pretty sure small Bivol would be willing to drop to 168 for more money and the chance to become undisputed if this is the weight Canelo wants for the rematch. I'm not that sure if Bivol can really dominate Ramirez because the latter is not an easy foe, in my opinion.
Yes, so true! Defeating the one and only Canelo Alvarez definitely lifts up a boxer's career, and in this case it's Bivol, it gave the latter more opportunities and hype from being a "not-so-known" kind of boxer to a famous one. Canelo may talk all he want and I understand his frustrations but he got to understand that, like what have you said, giving a win to Bivol means he can't be the priority anymore as Bivol will look for more accomplisment. I understand you mate, this is an interesting fight to see and it is really hard to choose whom we put our bet as both of them is outstanding in their own unique skills.

And Canelo might be left hanging if he will suddenly decide to contest the fight at 168 lbs. because Bivol won't surely agree with that as in the first place, Canelo lost in 175 so it's expected to contest the rematch at the same weight. I'm not sure what is in their contract but I think Bivol has a right to deny a rematch if Canelo will active the rematch in super-middle.
