Solana is a VC-funded business, while Ethereum is more akin to a protocol, a la Bitcoin.

If you put any stock in Satoshi's vision of cryptocurrency supporting decentralization, censorship resistance, and freedom, etc., there is no comparison between Solana (or Ripple, Binance, etc.) and Ethereum

Solana is conventional finance with a "crypto" veneer. Ethereum was a good-faith, second step expanding upon Satoshi's vision.

It doenst go down because the cut of the pie of their tokens are mostly hold by big whales and Sam. Even a lot of retailers have sold solana,  the price wouldnt plummeted easily,  since of the bigger holders just chilling and let their shares double and increase with thr dumped.

If talking about product or network,  I assume you see solana gad multiple break down or crash network reason to halt it for long time which isnt good if I am an investors.  Showing how centralized it is and can be control by someone.

Venture capital who backed it is making it become hyped. Solana was an ordinary blockchain. No reason for this blockchain to be the next ethereum and you shall stop with this kind of gimmick. A blockchain will not kill another blockchain. You must know that if what you have been talking above was not even true. Solana has become alternative blockchain for ethereum and this is the fact that happened in the market. There's no need to call ethereum killer anymore.

Solana has become the best alternative blockchain for ethereum although if that was always getting shortage that makes the blockchaing gets down. Why are you looking for next ethereum if solana has reached a very big market cap as a blockchain?
I think that it's actually clueless. Solana was a major blockchain actively used by so many dapps and that's the same like ethereum. Solana was also first layer blockchain.

I used to think it could but the network has had so much interruption & too many problems. I just don’t think it’s possible now. Investor confidence must be at a huge low regarding SOL. I do own some @ I want to think it could be an ETH killer but no, not for me.

One of the reasons why I consider Solana a good buy was because of the fact that several projects were launched on the platform and that gave me a reason to hold some of it. Solana is a great project, but it's not to be compared with ethereum, owing to the fact that ethereum has come a long way as has the support of a larger community.

I don't think that will happen and the Solana network sometimes has this problem not sure it will precede Ethereum but as an alternative network there are still many who use this network but not only Solana there are many other networks that I think are more above Solana and still Ethereum is wrong one of the best because lots of coins are in this network Ethereum should still be on top.

Do you still believe in Solana and its ecosystem? I think this also needs to be supported but it doesn't need to be compared to the next Ethereum because it's not possible.

Solana, Polkadot, Near won't be a next Ethereum. It is like Ethereum won't be a next Bitcoin.

Technologies are different and they are blockchain-based projects that are created and grown at very different periods of blockchain industry and cryptocurrency market.

New projects will run marketing and their communities will shill their projects as next big things. Fact is bitterly different. Even a good project will have ups and downs, will be tested by market and hackers. Lot of challenge for any new project bht to conclude, Solana won't be a next Ethereum, never be.

Solana is now the choice of most of crypto fans, it is quickly expanding and is most of the popular coin these days. Investment in Solana is beneficial, because as compared to ethereum it has the lowest gas fees and is also desirable coin. Next Ethereum in what sense? It’s not possible If you are thinking about the marketcap or ranking alone but Ethereum might be the next Solana if being centralized is what you are thinking when creating this thread because of the merge which will convert pow to pos consensus mechanism.

Solana is already surrounded by many shady activities and failure blockchain. There centralized feature back fire to them when the problem starts to occur on there central system.

Without layer 2, no chance for Sol to complete with ETH or even try to mimic the next ETH. If you don't know the difference between layer 2 ETH and layer 1 Sol then I suggest you should research this topic to broaden your view on how Sol works. This isn't taking into account another thing that ETH has miles ahead of Sol in every category.

It's funny how people compare altcoins. Solana can't be the next Ethereum because we've seen instances where Solana turns off and on lol. Ethereum remains the number one altcoin, deal with it.

Solana has been crashing so often, it's not very robust and I'm still not sure, why Solana is still so famous because it's tech is not very good. Especially against Ethereum, Solana has not a chance.
Ethereum is huge and such a weak coin like Solana has not a change against Ethereum.

Does Ethereum have the opportunity to become the next Solana should be the question asked now a days because a major migration is coming up in ETH from POW to POS and will see whether it will have any network outages as well .

solana many times face same problem in this year and ofcourse their developtment team must do something to solved it, but i am not sure ethereum will face same problem after migrate to POW. the developtment was not about algorithm only , but as i know sharding will applied to . this feature will boost transaction speed due blocksize resize.

MIght say it was one of the favorites among altcoins but never put to the extent that it will be the next ETH. Solana still has a lot of things that need to prove its potentiality, not unlike ETH which has been so long in the market and people know how useful it was. But because of the market competition and fees, many projects are able to pop up and even compete with ETH. However, it was a design that ETH is hard to beat by any altcoins - it was still dominating altcoins.

Considering one of Ethereum's killers is Solana.  There are too many of them who compete with Ethereum but I think IMO, Ethereum is still a unique one.
It's far from its other Ethereum using PoW while Solana uses PoH, though when it comes to fee, those Ethereum killers including Solana really have an advantage.

When it comes to investment, I think it would be the best if you'll choose them all, Solana has been proven that shows significant growth last year and it could be next year but I don't it will surpass Ethereum.  There's should be more technical innovation on Ethereum than these Ethereum killers which I believe.
