When you buy your eth, dont you expect the price can drop further and it might take time to recover? Even the merge didnt happen we should not have high hopes if we invest. Eth is an established coin and good to hold for long period. But if you cant stand seeing the price decreasing and you're too worried then it's up to you if you want to sell already to cut loss. But keep in mind that you'll never get back what you have lost if you already give up. Anyway it's not surprising if eth is turning downward since we're still in bearish season, Bitcoin and other major alts are not performing well too so dont think it's just eth.

It is people like you who will comeback crying of missing out when the market has fully recovered. It is up to you to do the right thing with your investment,  but one thing you should take note of is, no matter how low market goes it will get back up at some point, bear market won't last forever.

I'm not expecting too much in the merge, people know what might happen and everyone seems to expect that prices will soar up. I have some ethereum right now but I honestly don't expect too much in the merge to affect the ETH price immediatly, Just like bitcoin halving, the effect might come sooner or later. I'm also holding my ETH for the future, selling at low price will be an immediate loss.

This should be the thinking of many, I don’t know why many are expecting that much where it fact, we cannot see the result of the merge days after that, it usually take time. With the current situation of market we cannot expect ETH to rise, let’s just see this price level as an opportunity to accumulate because ETH is still a good coin and it will pump once the market enters the bull market, for now let’s wait for that patiently.

Those investors that can wait have to be paid off later. Though the merge hasn't given positive results. Yes, this couldn't make ETH lose its market potential as its still remains just like before. I was buying ETH and I was still holding it believing that this never disappoints me 2-3 years from now as the bull season comes.

If I were the OP, I have to keep my faith with ETH because for many crises and market dumps, we still see this project surviving and even growing high together with Bitcoin.

This is why we are advised to be mentally prepared so that we are ready when those situations occur and it won't easily trigger us to panic or sell. This is hard at first but in the meantime we can prevent worrying by avoiding the charts and the news. One of the cause of panic attacks is like you said when people doubt about their coin choices but why would they pick those coins in the first place? Are they rushing by the time they invest?

It seems to me that you were expecting for ethereum to go up in value after the merger and maybe even an altcoin season, and if that is the case the only thing I can say to you is that your expectations were out of place as this is something that it could not possibly happen, also I think there is a real possibility that we have not seen the bottom yet and this would mean another drop in the price during the next months or years, so if you are worried about holding your coins maybe it is a good idea to sell them now and avoid those potential losses.
