Assuming my country banned gambling but the Casino does not restrict my country from playing on their site.  I think I will carry on with my gambling activity.  I can always use a VPN to hide my gambling activity from the watchful eyes of the government.  The government need to contact gambling casinos to restrict our country's to access their service, else the government's ban on gambling is half-baked and they are not serious about it.

It happens in our country I used to bet on online cockfighting until the many irregularities and killings that happens and our government banned it, I support the ban but if they will totally ban gambling which I doubt our government can because they need taxes coming from casinos and lotteries, I will support a ban on gambling that are harmful to people but not other online gambling that is offshore, you just can't kill your desire to gamble when its already part of your life, sites like Stake, Duelbits are not harmful as long as you moderate how you play on these casinos.

If the government places a ban on open gambling I will still have no problems gambling online since there is no restrictions for it but if there is a total ban on all forms of gambling it will be difficult not to gamble secretly as a core or addicted gambler so in this case, it will be difficult for me especially if  my source of income is generated through gambling.

On the other hand, the government can place a ban on gambling but addicted gamblers can still find others means to  gamble because the government will not have the time to monitor the activities of all her citizens. This is interesting, in my country gambling is something that goes against the norms of belief and applicable laws.
There are several legal consequences for those found to be involved in gambling activities. I do not recommend that you ignore the regulations in your country.
However, on the other hand, the prohibition of gambling will not necessarily stop people from obeying the rules.
I don't think a country's gambling ban regulations will be effective at all, as is the case in our country, for example. Gambling in my country is controversial, some are pro to legalize it, some are always associated with belief norms.

but for sure, personally, gambling is a matter of one's privacy, as long as it doesn't harm people, it's all fine.

There are lots of online casinos out there so any government who will decide to ban gambling is only limiting the revenue the state will generate. A law abiding citizen even if he's got the addiction, I think he'll have hard time resisting his addiction and eventually will have to gamble.

Before online gambling was a thing, our community in our country prohibits playing cards on houses. Gambling is illegal but that does not stop gamblers from finding ways to do it. And officials will sometimes do some raids to discourage gamblers from gambling. For some time, gamblers will stop but they are just laying low. After a while, they are back doing it.

Now that we have online gambling, it is easier to go gambling and you can easily hide it also. Even if the government tries, it will not be able to stop it. That is why we have casinos so at least they get taxes from it.

Personally, I won't break the law just to satisfy my urge to gamble. Even if I turn to gamble whenever I seek entertainment, I know that it isn't permanent and there will come a time wherein I have to let go of it. I would rather sacrifice my happiness than to face charges for not abiding by the law. There are still other ways to feel entertained. Yes, I'm a law-abiding citizen and I believe that discipline and self-control are too important for us to live life comfortably.

There is always a way for the gambler to continue to channel his passion even though the state has banned it. The state is only limited to issuing prohibitions, the community remains in principle.
Just look at some of the cases that occur in the life around you, the sale of illegal drugs, rape, murder and theft is still happening even though the state has issued a ban that is strengthened by law.
There is no 100% guarantee to make people obey the rules issued by the state, in fact prisons are never empty.

I am not addicted to gambling. I play for fun. If the current government in my country prohibits gambling, i will continue to gamble. I just quit online gambling. The problem come in when your country ban gambling and the casino adds your country to the restricted list, then you will have to access that casino via a VPN and if the casino find out that you are bypassing their control measures, they might not pay out your winnings when you want to withdraw.

The casinos will not look into your "secret" ....until you hit something big and you want to withdraw.... then they will ask for KYC verification and when they check that, they will see you are from a restricted country and they will not payout the winnings. I think I will comply with the new law and even though it's tough for me, I don't want to get caught breaking the rules. But will that also apply to online casinos where we can find online casino sites easily? In addition, maybe its citizens can still visit the casino site by using an IP from their country or a VPN later because there may still be some online casinos that allow users from that country. And hopefully, the new regulation can allow users to play gambling at online casinos because online casinos are not bound by legal cooperation with that country. That will enable gamblers from that country to continue to gamble but with responsibility so that they will not get into trouble later.

I live in a country where gambling laws and regulations are illegal, many cukong/gambling addicts are caught and imprisoned, but the government only makes laws, gambling is illegal if caught in law and in prison, If.

The fact: they are not too serious about the rules, the proof is that online gambling sites can be accessed anytime and easily, to be honest I still gamble even though the state law says so, it doesn't mean I'm against the law, but gambling sites can actually be accessed online without the government's knowledge, there are exceptions if the government is serious about the law and the gambling site is closed, of course I have to stop it.

But the law is still the law, online gambling sites can still be accessed, of course I keep playing.

It depends on how specific the law is and how they're going to implement it because like what the others have also mentioned it's not easy to stop people from gambling online, they might block a bunch of well known online casinos but still, there are countless casinos that others could go to. If the law is targeted at physical casinos then that's easy to follow but when it comes to online i'd probably ignore it since online gambling can also appear in other places aside from casinos.

I'm just a small-time gambler and still know my limits so I believe that I can quit from gambling if it's necessary or even asked by the law. You would definitely be doing gambling despite of the ban or prohibition.Why? In todays era, where accessibility is easy as 1,2,3 or few clicks or taps on your phone.Then, there's no way that the government could catch
you up specially when using up some VPN where it cant be easy for someone to trace you up and since there are casinos which do really still accepts players who do make use of VPN then it would

Gambling is a phenomenon as old as the history of humanity. If you want to ban gambling, you have to ban human history. First, if you are going to be a law-abiding citizen, there is no doubt that you will comply with anything prohibited by the government that you have in the country you are in. Although we have what is called free will, it is up to us whether we follow it or not. But let's just remember that whatever we do, we will surely reap what we sow, good or bad, forbidden or not, it's that simple.

Then sometimes we think it's just a hobby for us as a gambler, we don't realize that it actually causes a bad effect on our personality and sometimes even leads to our finances and our loved ones being affected.
