A lot of people don't know about Namibia, and that is the reason why they are so surprised about Sri Lanka getting destroyed in the inaugural match. But not me. I have always considered Namibia as one of the strongest associate nations, and a potential long term candidate for the test status. And a lot many thanks to CSA as well, who have invested a lot of time and effort in to providing support to the Namibian cricket board. If the BCCI could do something similar to Nepal, then who knows, we may witness such stellar performance from them as well.

Namibian players frequently visit South Africa to play domestic matches and many of them (especially the Dutch and German speaking players) have family connections there. On top of that South Africa has provided coaches and trainers since the past many decades to Namibia. And it is nice to see indigenous players (Ben Shikongo, Zane Green.etc) in the Namibian lineup. Hopefully in the coming years, they will be more diverse.

Yeah.. it is very unpredictable. Today. I didn't expected West Indies to lose to Scotland. West Indies is not in peak form at the moment, but I expected them to do well in T20 format. But Scotland was ruthless today and destroyed them without a trace. George Munsey was in exceptional form, although he received hardly any support from other batsmen. Calum MacLeod and Chris Greaves scored some significant runs towards the end, but ideally Scotland should have got a total of 175 plus, after the terrific start they had.

Thank you for the link, It was a really successful match for Zimbabwe. They have performed really well, especially since Sikandar Raza was the person to get Zimbabwe the win. His 82 runs from 48 balls were utterly devastating for the opponent. And Ireland was unable to recover from that beating of Sikandar Raza.

The target was very high, and Ireland did well to get even close to that. But in the end, the difference was really too big. Ireland actually needed someone to play an innings like Sikandar Raza. But no one could do that. And they also needed to score a lot faster to keep up with the required run rate. That also didn't happen.

I think that we are seeing some kind of pattern over here. Smaller teams are upsetting the comparatively bigger teams, which in my opinion indicates that bigger teams don't do their homework before playing a smaller team , or maybe they just simply underestimate them which is quite sad in my point of view.

Sri Lanka getting destroyed by Namibia and West Indies also losing to Scotland is a sign of the same thing I just mentioned. Maybe they got surprised by the new bowlers they are facing . But I have to say that especially Namibia has improved a lot in recent times. Hope that they will gain test status soon.

Why it is unacceptable?

The team that played better cricket won, and that is it. West Indies is a team that is going down the drain. There is no team bonding or cohesion among the players. On the other hand, Scotland worked very hard for this win. Ever since the 2021 T20 World Cup, they got an opportunity to play against a full member nation just twice. And despite all that, they managed to defeat West Indies.

BTW, today's match between Namibia and Netherlands is going to be crucial. If Namibia wins, then they will qualify to the next stage.

How is it fishy? No team should be underestimated in the T-20 format due to the unpredictability factor which you mentioned yourself. Sri Lanka and West Indies played like crap and deserved to lose at the end of the day.

Should have gone with my gut and spotted the money on a mild Zimbabwe upset instead of going for my ambitious betbuilder lol but anyway...

Now seems to be the time to back the better odds, in which case Netherlands should have been the regular choice too even though Namibia are really that good and with qualification on this game I don't think we needed to look far.

Too late for me to put a bet as not able to go online in morning but, that was so much value, they look like they are running away right now, such great bowling this Dutch!
