That’s a free money already and to avoid conflict, I will go and split the prize. My partner can decide if he will continue to bet or just walk away like me. Though some bonuses or giveaways have a require wage amount, if they allow you to withdraw it then better but if not, I think you still need to follow their instructions until you get that free money. That's the thing, we don't have any idea of the condition for the giveaway which is for me the logical thing to do is to reroll as it seems that the closest number will be the winner in which OP has a very high chances of getting.

Indeed low amount is better than nothing. It is a simple matter to decide in my judgement as I will want a split than roll again. We must know that gambling is a big risk of chance and may have a single winner after every 100 attempt. I would split the prize if the other winner also agrees to it. Winning on a giveaway with a mechanics like that has very low odds and is almost similar in winning on a lottery so I don't think there is someone that might want to reroll again if it will also happen to them unless he's really a greedy type of person. You would just lose an opportunity of making some quick bucks if you plan to roll again.

This can be a difficult decision and can cause regret if we are not that careful of the step we are taking to win the overall amount of the price. For me, I will prefer sharing the fund 50 50 so that I can have the share of the money which can go a long way entirely. I am not a greedy person which will want a replay so he can be lucky if possible taking a big risk of 50 50 win or lose. I think a re-roll is the right call in that case, in the best case scenario we will be able to plan ahead of any scenario which presents itself, but in the case you are presenting both players seemed to have agreed on a game in which they needed to exactly hit the number in order to win, so at least to me it makes no difference if one of them selected the number 1 while the other selected the number 9 and the actual number which comes out is 10, even if 9 is closer to 10 since that was not really part of the agreed rules then a re-roll is the fairest decision for both parties.

Actually if the closest number will win the full amount then the most ideal choice is to re-roll. Imagine if you roll number from 1-7, you'll be able to win the whole amount since you'll be the closest number to it. Also, if you roll another 8, you can still receive a half prize. The only way you'll lose if you re-roll is when 9 or 10 will be rolled on and that's like 8/10 or 80% winning rate on you.

But still, without knowing the full context as well as the condition of the giveaway, we cannot fully decide wether to split it or to re-roll.

Let's me ask, if you decide to Reroll if the number you select is not close to the winning number will you be given opptunity to Reroll again or that's the last opportunity? Another question is that after the Reroll if the number that I chose is not close to the winning number will I be given 0.05 or I won't receive any amount? That's true and even though you are a risk taker, you also have to be wise and be able to see the situation before making a decision. Splitting the reward would be the best decision even for a risk taker because 0.05BTC is already the biggest reward he can get. If that person continues thinking that the reward is not very big, that person is greedy

In this case I will choose to split the price and walk away with 0.05 since it's a decent amount already and a sure money, im just being wise. I'd like to enjoy the prize because it's from giveaway and would not ask for more since I might regret it. But of course it depends for each of us because those who like to take risk for a possible better result might choose to reroll again. So it depends if you're contented already or greedy to try your luck.

If you look at this question with a mathematical approach, there is no difference between the first and second options - on average they will give the same prize distribution. Naturally, if you make a sufficiently large number of attempts. Therefore, in my opinion, there is no "greed/riskiness" or "reliability" option here. Both options are the same and differ only in perception, which is individual for all people. I am confused, would you mind elaborating? I mean, why would they split the price when none of them chose the winning number? wouldn't they have to do a reroll by default since no one won? was there a rule stating that if no one picked the winning number then whichever number is closest to the winning number will win? then, if so, picking to split the prize is a great choice but if the participants cannot change the number they have picked then, I'd go for a reroll since I picked 7 and have more chance of winning than the other guy who picked 9.

I think the matter is simple, it is a kind of gift, so the point is that you leave with something or you leave with nothing, a betting paradox from the social point of view, based on the free bet, then socially you criticize the who loses by not dividing. The conditions can be varied but specifically it is about that, dividing the prize, yes or no.

Interesting question- it is either you go big or you go home.

I think this would depend on the circumstances of a person. If a gambler wants to receive a winning prize no matter what, then going with the safe choice of splitting might be the ideal answer. But if the gambler wants to gamble for entertainment, adrenaline, and for the money, then experiencing the "go big or go home" choice of reroll is the answer.

Personally, I am a safe guy where I always choose the safest option. I would prefer to split the prize and call it a day and use the proceeds to gamble again in my designated gambling website of choice.

it is better to choose to divide the prize so that it can be fair than to have to repeat when it is not certain that victory will be on our side later.  This reflects the nature of a person in gambling, if he decides to replay, it means that the person's habit is always playing greedily and always being selfish in gambling because he expects a big win that does not necessarily have a chance to win it again.
