How the Poll is to be Run
Poll will run for 7 days.  1 vote per user (you are NOT allowed to use your alt account to vote twice). You can change your vote, of course only up until the contest ends.  

IMPORTANT NOTES:
Once the 7 days is up, the voting will end, but the final results will possibly not be the actual tallies/winners until Theymos comes in and implements a few things to make the voting more fair.  Those things are, as stated by Theymos..“ 1) only Member+ votes will count, where copper membership does not on its own count as Member; and 2) users who haven't made a post in the year between the time of this post and 1 year ago will not be counted".

In the unlikely case of a tie, we'll run another poll which will be set to run for 3 days.

Lastly, and most importantly..guys, lets have fun with this. It's not perfect, and never will be. First year doing this, I'll learn from the mistakes I made for next year, if we decide to do it again.

@ChiBitCTy I don't think @sorryfor should be on that list, the pumpkin he submitted for the contest wasn't his it was just some image he downloaded from the internet he didn't carve it himself so I don't think it would be fair for him to be contesting with other users who made theirs themselves.
Looks like he downloaded the first pumpkin image from here^{compare the date}  while the second has already been reported by @John Abraham here, my guess is that you missed it.

I don't think you should worry about it. My pumpkin shouldn't be taken as part of a contest, either. Therefore, of course, people are not blind and will make the right choice, especially since, I think, you should not take the contest very seriously, since it was invented for entertainment. I will remove sorryfor 's photo as soon as I learn how without messing up the code as I just did a moment ago (and ask no one vote for them), but them being in there isn't going to make a difference.  I can't remove them from the poll as it can't be edited, but again, it's not going to make a difference in the end even though as whomever actually did create it did a good job, it's not going to be in the running with so many other more detailed ones that have been created by members here, lets be honest).


 Secondly, the rules are the rules and were stated before I even opened this poll up.  Unfortunately some wont be able to vote on theirs and others more senior members will.  This single vote is not going to make a difference in the end I'm confident of that.  Also If I disallow candidates from voting then that means more work for Theymos as well as a published list of who voted for which pumpkin, and I think most of us would prefer this remain anonymous.  Next year I'll keep this in mind but I'm not going to change the rules at this point.  Again, I'm doing this for fun, everything has been donated, this is free for contestants, and as I said before being my first time, it's not going to be perfect.

It don't matter if the candidate chooses him, it's the same as the election for president and other regional heads. They have the right to vote as long as they meet the requirements, all who have participated in the Pumpkin Carving Contest have the right to make choices for their efforts.

Which rule do you mean, I can't find any rule in Thread 🎃 [ANN] Bitcointalk Bitcoin Pumpkin Carving Contest 🎃 about who is eligible to vote and who is excluded, there I only found this.

How will the winner be picked?: There will be a poll ran from Oct 31st to Nov 3rd.  I'm not 100% sure how I will run it, but will try and get some feedback from the community on how to most fairly do so.  Please chime in if you have any ideas!

Op is very open to running the vote, if you have any ideas on the fairest way to do it can leave feedback here.

Honestly so many of you guys did such an amazing job!  It's hard to see some of these that haven't gotten votes that are VERY deserving.  There's about 10 entries I really love.  I would list them out, but I don't want to do any unfair promoting or make others feel bad.  Just know that all of you did a great job, and if you did a more detailed pumpkin with no votes yet,  know that many of us love your work, know you deserve some recognition etc etc.

I'm not going to change anything at this point.  It would be kind of nice to have multiple votes, theymos even proposed some ideas in this realm but for the first time doing this I wanted to keep it simple.  I'm not sure having the extra votes will really do anything anyhow, in terms of selecting the winners. 

Again, as I've stated a few times, this is my first time and a bit of a test run.  Next year I'll take the feedback that seems to make sense once I look back at how everything ended up.

I understand the prizes where collectibles but the content itself wasn't, these type of events can be sponsored by makers and held on other boards (such as games and rounds) to bring more attention to the collectibles section in the long run likely bringing more revenue to makers, sponsors and active members that frequent collectibles.

Man, I'm touched. It was made wholeheartedly, haha...
Tbh, was the first time I've carved a pumpkin especially how to create a gradient effect in the carving when it is illuminated.
Luckily I used to carve fruit years ago, it wasn't difficult to guess the thickness and texture of the pumpkin which was almost the same as the fruit in general, so it only needed one type of cutter.

Yep, you know the wedding tradition in my country, decorations are made this way (called "kembang mayang"). A fun profession before it finally came out completely as it was considered old-fashioned and replaced with a new and instant model. This event is nostalgic for me. Unfortunately, the Halloween tradition in my country isn't as lively as in other countries. Anyway, thanksfor your vote @ChiBitCTy and good luck to all contestant. Let's have fun...

The pumpkin is thicker than other fruits to carve. It was also the first time in my life to carve fruit, after previously I only carved in wood for some furniture decoration.
It seems that we are in the same country which is full of traditions.

Where I live the Halloween tradition doesn't exist, I only see it on television shows and in family movies. But this time I was able to participate in the Halloween special pumpkin carving contest it was an amazing experience.

My expectations at first would not be as lively as this, but after a few days I posted many new participants had started entering, although there were some who did not use pumpkins (there were any pumpkins available in some places or regions) so they used other fruits.

The inspiration for the carving that I applied to the Pumpkin Fruit was the carving that I found on the "Gomu-Gomu" Fruit (Demon Fruit in the Anime Movie "One Piece"). simple doodles but good enough for a pumpkin.


Thank you to all participants and everyone involved, this is a great contest.

These comments about what you were inspired by when carving a pumpkin add charm to the result of your creativity. Frankly, at first I did not immediately pay attention to these swirling patterns on your pumpkin, but the result turned out to be very interesting in its own way. It's one thing when it's just a carved pumpkin, and quite another when the author explains such important nuances. This afterword adds "the right spice to your dish", but it would be even better if you communicated it right away by posting the first photo with a pumpkin. I would never have guessed that your pumpkin is related to a demon from an anime, but I confess that the combination of these two themes turned out to be excellent. Halloween demon pumpkin - what could be more terrible. What would it be called? Demon Pumpk-pumpk?

at the beginning of the entry, I forgot to include my imagination on the devil fruit "Gomu-Gomu" which I fully poured into the pumpkin carving work.
this is indeed the right seasoning and will make it even more delicious.

I always have a guideline that every work I make must have a philosophy on the theme being contested. Creating a work without something unique and interesting and without a story will look bland and unimpressive.

We all here, have amazing work especially you @LFC_Bitcoin with a very good seeded pumpkin variety.

This contest once again proves that many forum members have good work and some of them are talented.
I just carved the pumpkin with my imagination, giving it a unique touch, and each participant had their own unique thing applied to the pumpkin.

What I can/will say for right now, STOP IT.  Do not randomly bug people to vote for you.  It's against the rules of the contest as well as against forum rules.

The more and more I look at all of these pumpkins the more difficult it becomes trying to decide which are mj favorite. Next year (if we decide to do this again) I will certainly make sure to allow for maybe 3 votes per person, or something like that.  All the talent that went in to so many of the pumpkins makes me feel pretty bad about myself lol.

Sweet Pumpkin Carving Competition was organized on the occasion of Halloween festival last October 31 with the efforts of some wise and knowledgeable members of our forum.  Which is very colorfully done.  Today the best contestants of that carving competition will be selected.  Those who have done the best work will be selected today.  With only a little time left, 166 voters have cast their votes so far.  

Below is the short list of those leading the polls.

Thank you Theymos and ChiBitCTy for taking the time to organize and manage this contest. and thanks for everything. Each work certainly has its own uniqueness and becomes an extraordinary work. My work is also not perfect. This contest became the first pumpkin contest which was extraordinary, this will be the beginning of the next pumpkin contests.

Winning or losing doesn't matter, I'm amazed by all the work that was made. So many members are enthusiastic about participating in this contest. although at the beginning it was not so attractive.

Heads up to the winners- as I mentioned I’m in the middle of a move as we speak. It’s pretty much been a disaster so it’s going to take me a little longer to ship all the prizes out, but rest assured they are coming (I’m hoping to do so within about a week).

As I can see, peoples are not much interested in the result, and almost no one congratulates the winners except theymos and the Host. Come on, guys. You have voted for the winners. Maybe the prizes is already in its packaging or on its way, @Chibit asked me to resend the destination yesterday. The host explained the situation (maybe it's a bit private, can't mention it), and I accepted it.

It doesn't matter to me if even my prize is sent by next year, you'll be the first to hear from me. Don't worry.

Buddy, You are just twisting my words. It seems like you took it negatively. No, I haven't won anything from the contest, and I am not worried. I was curious, and that's it. Usually, winners post feedback and others congratulate them. I was expecting a celebration of winners and posts from others (it always doesn't happen). I was just following and curious about it. I am not sure if it looks like I am creating drama. Also, I don't know why you are in Attacking mode. You judged me too early, buddy. Never mind.
