Only just got home so made my picks. I was up til about 2 am last night (12 hours ago) and still couldn't make my changes on FIFA, so ended up doing it all in a bit of a rush.

Also doing like morvillz7z, majority of my squad is from 2 teams I hope will shake off group stage nonsense and make it big.

Alright guys I've finished setting up my line-up, I hope my midfield can get me more points. There is not much left until the start of the match Holland vs USA, I think I will get some points from De Jong.

Use those free transfers well since later on you will have to pay -3 points for each extra transfers. So if you pick a lot of players from teams that get eliminated you will be in trouble. Best to play safe and load up on France & Brazil

This means that the next periods will be more difficult if your players are out of the game. This means focusing on players from strong teams

I had at least 4 players who were eliminated for this second phase, but finally I was able to make my changes as well.

Against Germany, Ritsu Doan scored 75' and it only took him 4 minutes to score a goal after 71' replaced Ao Tanaka.
He start against CRC  and it was replaced
Against Spain, he enters for the second half replacing Takefusa Kubo.

So given the above if I had to bet I would say no, but if I had him in my Fantasy I would like him to start.

You forgot only the best one of us, he was even in first position for some time and hovering in the money every time I look at it. In general, I started to learn the rules of Fantasy Football only when registering for this competition, so it is not surprising that I did not do well here. Therefore, I wish all the participants good luck and I myself stop managing my team. Hopefully next time I'll be more prepared.

Hats off to those who kept Dumfries in their R16 teams! A goal and two assists is the near-perfect haul that everyone hoped for. It was painful to watch him get all those points knowing he's no longer on your team (and i've had him since day 1).      The Socceroos scoring after a ricochet to wipe Argentina's clean sheet capped what was a very disappointing fantasy day.

Anyways, looking forward for the next matches...my differentials for this round are Perisic and Gvardiol. I fancy the Croats to score from a set piece, and both Gvardiol and Lovren, with their massive frames, should pose a threat to Japan's undersized defenders/players....Perisic is simply due a goal.

Is anyone switching their armband from Messi to Mbappe, or are you content with those 14 points?

I'm going to stick with Messi as my captain, I initially didn't even have Mbappe on my team after the first draft, but I switched to him by replacing Lautaro Martinez some minutes before the deadline, my biggest flaw is the Netherlands concede, it would have been a big haul for me, or If I had went with Daley Blind, instead of Ake or Van Djik, It would have been complement, but since Argentina also conceded a goal, I felt it no team defense is actually safe right now or stands a better chances of keeping a clean sheet, perhaps just Brazil.

Dumfries in my team is I believe my first decision that got me net win over you and I finally managed to get a bit closer to the top positions in the league. Was about time for him to get something back. He is by far the most attacking defender in this WC.

Perišić is a great pick, he is our only nailed attacking player and he will play every minute for as long as he can stand on the pitch. Not so sure about Gvardiol, he is our best player in this WC but I don't see him getting many fantasy points. When it comes to set pieces, Lovren is usually the target. I've so far been very worried or rather curious about how I fallen so bad down the pecking order of the table without getting points significantly lower than others for the game week, but It's solely due to the fact that I never understood how the transfer and substitutions actually really works, but I think I've gotten a better understanding of the game play now, I only just hope it's not too late yet to catch up.

Yes, I totally agree with you, I understand his position very clearly but don't get me wrong. I only said that because I've watched him well and over again, over the years and I'm well aware that Perisic plays on the left flank for Croatia, but while at Inter and Bayern he played more down that left midfield and often dropping further back sometimes, that seemed to have affected he's goal scoring form/zeal, so he's been more of a provider than an actual goal scoring personnel, hence my sentiment of actually preferring outright midfielders with more goal intentions rather than being just a provider, Perisic is likely to have more assists to goals ratio, of something like 10:1 if not bigger, than getting goals for himself, so that's why I felt him being classified as defender who could be getting clean sheets as that would complement the deeper role he plays and he could still be providing those assists regardless, in FPL for instance I think he's racked up more points from Clean sheet than in goals and assist combined.

It's good to be recognised though, I don't feel so great at my current positioning in the FWC tournament. Round 3 games really got me good and it felt sick evn till now. Like, my entire team couldn't give me half the point I got from captaining K. Mbappe today!

Anyway, we've got a  few rounds, good enough i had the chance to revamp my team and some increased transfer chances by the day. I really really have a taste for that top 10 and am going for it. This won't be just about winning but, making a mark that would stay for the next 4years!

It's been interesting so far, just dont know why I left Saka on my bench only to miss 10points and played Rabiot that have been 1point. Rabiot wasn't fair to me today but, we good still. Good day today!

Given that we have manual substitutions available, you should always set (start) your lineup with the players who play first. If they blank or you are unhappy with their points total, you can then replace them with those on your bench (who are yet to play). I took a quick look at your lineup, and you're very likely to miss out on Acuna's six points unless Spain and Brazil both keep clean sheets. That's 16 points wasted for no good reason.

This world cup, Modrić was playing ok but he was nowhere near his usual levels and today he was among our worst players. I would have subbed him off even sooner. He did not have a good game and made a lot of uncharacteristic errors while we know we will need him in the next game. It is not easy for a guy of his age to play every minute of every game in world cup.

Brazil looks dangerous as hell, will be a though game against them but odds should be good. @buwaytress I expect some money on Croatia at least from you But not regular time, after penalties, Croatian way.

Count me in as another Saka on the bench (first MD I subbed him out, dumb, now he's left on the bench, what a waste of points!). Mbappe took me my haul but only because I used Boost (otherwise would have captained Messi).

My exact thoughts seeing him start the game... why start a guy who knows how to blaze down tired wings? Still, if he hadn't started, Japan might not have played as bravely as they did. I actually still thought my ticket had a great chance but once they took him out it was clear penalties were on everyone's mind.

You can count on it, immediately after Croatia went through, p2p markets on my p2p book gave 65/10 odds on Croatia (full game outcome) but some guy matched the entire market (only 0.1 BTC haha) immediately so odds wiped out to 56/10, which is still pretty good, so I already took it with winnings from Brazil last night.

Of course, FT result of 94/10 which is on Sportsbet now is my normal bet, but knowing the Vatreni way, I'm avoiding that haha.

Brazil are definitely going to have tough game vs Croatia, because of Croatia chemistry and style of play, disciplined decisive and very compactly organized as a team, but If any team has what it takes to oust Croatia, that'd be Brazil, they've got every assets that they can use to hurt just almost any team.

I'm just playing for fun now to pass the time because it's already impossible to make top 10, we only have a few games left, and the further we go, the fewer goals will be scored, so it would take a miracle to blow up 80+ from QF matches, is still possible but the chances are very slim. Has anyone ever gotten 25 points in a pool before?, or am I making history here? What happened to Woodie? did he run out of luck after MD1? I don't see him.

I actually like my chances in this one. I already made a couple of transfers in the last MD as the players I wanted to get rid of finished their games and now I am in very comfortable situation of having more or less 15 players I want and 5 free transfers to use them before the games if some of my choices get benched.

I still have that power captain booster so hopefully that one will come handy in the last MD of the competition. Main prize is going to someone from this forum I just feel it
