Portugal was an easy pick in QF, but did not delivered
not that I am that into this fantasy, but will use my wildcard to improve chances in Semi-final matches

Brasil out is also a nightmare for many teams, but wildcard will do for that as well

who to score, expecting two goalless draws in SF

Never expected this many surprises in quarter finals. Should have kept my wildcard, but it is easy to be smart in retrospective. What were the odds of both Brazil and Portugal dropping out. I have seen a screen shot from one guy in a private league I am also playing that has 0 players in his team that are still left in the tournament.

There is also talk about some penalty for Martinez/Messi cause of throwing insults to the dutch players but I somehow doubt that FIFA would have guts to suspend Messi in semi final of his last world cup. If there is a penalty it will probably be under revision until the WC finishes.

If Portugal is to lose the 1/4 final tomorrow, i'm in the realm of taking multiple hits to field 11/15 for the semi-finals, fun... (advantage to those who have their wildcard available, i guess).

Same here and to make things worse I was out of the house and did not manage to use all the transfers from previous MD. I wanted to make them late and take 2 France/England players depending on who passes and then the game crashed for me.

With 5 free transfers I will have 10 players, so I will either field that or make one minus transfer to field full 11. I don't think hits are needed. Not so many players I really want for these 2 games. At the moment only Giroud is a certain transfer in for me.

On second thought, i might not take any hits at all, but that depends on the outcome of the first semi-final. What worries me the most is how much rotation will occur in the two teams that will not advance to the final (3rd/4th place match).

As for the third striker spot, it's a toss-up between Alvarez and Giroud. However, Croatia's high xGC is concerning and currently tips the scales in favor of Alvarez.

It really goes down to 2 last matchdays to make the real difference. At this point, it ain't just about picking the players that could get you the points but, predicting what team that would advance so you dont have to get negative points on transfers just to be able to reset your team. I can tell you, its not a time for me to get any unproductive players if I need to make it to the 10 at all. Wih it was more of a maintaining of stance but, it goes down to making up some lost match days.
You guys have been pretty competitive I give you that. It ain't over yet though.

It all comes down to Croatia and Argentina. Sort of make a huge error in picking from these guys but, I hope it counts in favour though. Hope we get a fill tea reset in the finals. That would be nice.

I have put my players for SF, almost all team changed, and it could be called France with Messi and Modric now

missed changes before R16 and that basically ruined my chances to compete, but never give up

Giroud all the way for me, I wanted him from the day Benzema was confirmed out but couldn't justify it while Brazil was still in the tournament. I also wanted Alvarez but that 3 forward slots are way to precious and I never got a chance to even seriously consider him.

Still contemplating if taking any extra transfers for minus three points is worth it. As it stands now I will probably take one extra transfer to field full 11.

Power captain was reserved for 3rd place play off match from the moment I read what it does. My initial plan was to go for Juranović but when I sow the line ups, Gvardiol was the best choice for Croatian defender. What a beautiful action for his goal as well That shot me trough the rankings mainly because of captain points but everybody will have one of the Messi/Mbappe today and there is high chance I will lose a lot of the advantage power captain has given me so far.

After seeing VAR in action yesterday I think I am putting a hefty bet on penalty for Argentina today. If there isn't a real one or Argetnina is not leading at least 2:0 they will produce one. I used mine in Matchday 3 and got 18 points from Tadic, with very low ownership. That's the trick with this specific booster, to not have any of the popular names score, otherwise, it just goes to waste, negated. If Messi and Mbappe stayed quiet you should have at least kept the 4th place.

That big boss from Qatar said that it would be their dream that Messi (GOAT) lifts the trophy in his last World Cup and that it all happens in Qatar. After seeing VAR in action yesterday I think I am putting a hefty bet on penalty for Argentina today. If there isn't a real one or Argetnina is not leading at least 2:0 they will produce one. The only reason why I feel bad is literally because I didn't understand how the transfers and substitution works way sooner, I had all my chip planned out for specific stages perfectly, and almost all worked out pretty well for me except the 12th Man on Ronaldo, I also had one nap to early and didn't bring on Gvardiol to my starting lineup right on time.

But it was still all a very decent experience, and congratulations mate!

I got screwed with final match, never thought it will have more than 2 goals in it. Plan was also to bring in DiMaria for final if he plays but in last minute I decided he isn't worth going -3 since there will not be goals anyway.

I agree about power captain boost and that is why I decided to target 3rd place play off game with it. I brought a couple of differentials like Gvardiol and Majer and hoped for the best. Again I expected very low scoring final.

Cashed out Argenitna nice though, there was that penalty ticket and I had them to win outright from beginning.

Coming into the game, i had very low expectations since it had largely different rules and structure than what im used to with FPL, more casual-oriented if you will. Knowing when to use your boosters was crucial, as was getting lucky on a few differentials in each round.

Anyway, it appears that those who made the top10 have been paid out, and i can confirm that i received my winnings....also, from what i could pick from the clubtalk chat, there were 1 or 2 players disqualified within the top10 (probably multi-accounting), so perhaps someone just outside the prize spots from the forum got in last minute? Check your accounts!

Unironically it's not the first time someone has tried to impersonate me on the Sb site. Back when they had poker tables, i had a doppelganger...but that's a long story and also off-topic.

The truth of the matter is, when there are decent prizes/something nice going on, bad actors will always try to take advantage of/ruin the fun for everyone else.

Nothing big or sofisticated, just tried to connect his spottsbet account with your fantasy username through that form we all had to enter to join. Of course there is timestamp for entries and we know you so it wouldn't be a problem even if there isn't.

But one more argument in favor of using the same nick for leagues like these.
