There's no specific amount of the rate you rant in complaining about price that makes it come down or things work out to your favour just because you demanded, the world economy is so broad such a way that your little inference may not be felt in making a change regardless of how you convey it, the question now is that are you talking now about price with respect to crypto or which currency? you can't because of the current situation fail to pay for the required amount from you for settling your bills except you seek to find more alternatives to your level of income.

You are very correct, everybody wants to buy commodities at a very cheap rate but have you ever considered if the cost of production is cheap. We are in a period were there is inflation, high cost of power and fuel and everybody including manufacturers are also feeling the pains. The best thing to do for now is to seek for cheaper alternative of any product you consume. My children are now consuming locally produced food instead of expensive company manufactured baby-food/cereals.I had to move out of my bigger accommodation to a smaller place because I could no longer comfortably afford it. But this doesn't write-off the fact that we should bargain for the best prices.

Most people who are into business, especially those who sell some sort of commodity are often selling a product that they don't produce themselves. Maybe a few of these merchants actually produces what they sell but, looking at the raw materials and the fact that, they've got to buy other products for them to use. They've got to get there price right and that means, selling at a profit that would allow them not just to refill but to he able to purchase other goods.

At times you just don't blame them, there is inflation everywhere and this could be the work of bad governance. Buy what you can for a price that you gives you peace or go for an alternative.

Businesses are also suffering from a higher cost of their products and this is why most of them will not grant your request but there’s nothing wrong to try it and if you are lucky enough, they might give you a good discount. Limiting your expenses and living within a budget are more ideal, you should not spend beyond your means especially on a situation like this. We’re also renting and our landlord already gave some consideration with regards our terms.

It is really just normal for a business on at least having some profit and they would be normally basing up on the price on which they had able to buy and make out some little bump in price for profits.
If you do look its reasonable or you are fully aware of goods price increase and services then i dont see for it to be that much needed for you to ask cheaper.
Im not saying its bad to ask for that one but it would really be that understandable if you were on their shoes.

There’s no wrong actually if you ask for a lower price, but never ask from small stall owners or entrepreneurs because obviously, they are also feeling the inflation that you are feeling too. It’s okay for those big time business owners but for the small ones, it’s their only means for survival so always be reasonable enough. Ask for cheaper prices sometimes, but never do it all the time.

You can always ask for a discount but better not to expect that your request will be granted because they are also suffering from the same crisis and doing that business might their only source to survive. The only way to fight inflation and this crisis is to create multiple source of income and live within your budget. Better not to buy any expensive things for now and just focus for your needs, worst recession is yet to come so be ready for that.

This might even put their business in peril and may even affect their funds for their business. It just isn't making any logic at all to bargain when everything is turning to shit. You can always try, but do not expect that people will be so welcoming of how you try to bargain when they themselves aren't doing well enough even if they are supplying the goods.

it must be so, everything must adjust to the circumstances, so as to at least reduce one's burden in terms of economy.
because in an economic situation like this everyone must support and understand each other.
but what you rent is a house or an apartment, and how much rent do you spend for a month.

I have two questions:
1) What country do you live in? (I don't expect an answer, but I feel the need to ask)
2) Did your landlord tell you to go fuck yourself?

The reason I inquired about where you live is because in certain countries--far, far away from where I live--haggling is part of the culture.  If anyone in the US just asked their landlord to lower their rent because they were trying to get a cheaper rate, it'd pretty much be impossible.  Renters usually sign a lease when they rent, and any negotiations have to be done before it's signed, not when the renter suddenly feels like they're being overcharged.

But hey, as they say, you do you.  When you live in a country where most things are purchased at big box retailers or online, it's not feasible to do anything but pinch pennies through budgeting and buying smart.

The fact in any case can not be as simple as that. I understand the current economic conditions which are indeed very difficult considering that inflation continues to occur but telling others to lower prices when conditions like this clearly cannot be done because we know they are also in business and of course they also have the same economic conditions as us and feel the effect of the current economic downturn so that something like you do just won't have any impact I don't think and it shouldn't be replicated either.

If I go to McDonalds and try to ask for a discount, they will first offer me an alternative (hamburger instead of bigmac), but then will simply say "next" and cancel my order. Try to bargain in supermarket. Even though store chain buy everything in bulk and giving you a discount wont make any significant different on their income, they wont give you a special price.

You know that your proposal can work in both directions? If you bargain everywhere, get ready that one day your boss will give a discount to his customer, but the difference in price will be reflected in your lower salary.

On the contrary, if in a situation where you are a supplier, a seller, when someone has the same bargaining behavior as you, how will you handle it? I'm not saying haggling is bad, but you have to understand that those same owners are going through the same crisis as we are. If we buy a loaf for 2 dollars, they will also buy a loaf for 2 dollars, if everyone is asking for a discount like you, the seller will lose a lot. The solution in this inflationary period in my opinion is nothing better than trying to work part-time, save a part, don't spend unnecessary things and if possible find yourself an investment.

There'd probably be places where bargaining is an option and highly accepted (like most of the stores here in my area), but it doesn't mean that ALL areas would accept it or is even suitable for it even.
People we buy products/services from are also impacted by the economic situation so I don't think bargaining could even get us somewhere really, especially in OP's cases where a lease is signed beforehand. At least, I've never heard of a lease where its content can be willy-nilly changed just like that.

It depends on the products and the services that you're asking to bargain for. It's not at all times that the merchant or businessman will grant your request for a bargain.
There's a consideration for the cost of operation and capital for those products and services that they're offering. But yeah, it won't hurt if you're going to ask for some discounts and if they grant it, that's good then if not, accept it.
