So pity that I was at work and missed Serbia - Cameroon game. I tried to catch goals at least, watching on my phone and it was crazy game.
South Korea - Ghana wasn't worse. South Korea made great comeback in few minutes - who could have thought that they will dominate in the 2nd floor. It's a bit sad that they lost, now their chances to reach next round is minimal.

Portugal vs Uruguay about to kick off in 20 minutes. I’m keen to watch this game, could be really good. Cavani, Nunez & Valverde starting for the South American’s. Ronaldo, Bruno & Silva start for Portugal, some real world class talent on show in this game. Try to watch it if you can guys.

Feeling disappointed about Uruguay. Another game without goals, deserved Portugal win. Now they will have decisive game against Ghana and it gives instant flashbacks to most legendary 2010 WC game. Should be interesting. Anyway, in next round winner of tihs game will get Brazil, so, not much chances.

I feel that Brazil performed really well today. They controlled the game from start to finish and have created a lot of dangerous opportunities.

They could have scored a few more goals and have once again confirmed their role as the main favorites in the tournament.

Casemiro's goal was top notch BTW, check it if you haven't seen it.

Brazil game was somewhat similar like against Serbia. They controlled game, had some good moments, but it was difficult to expect that they will score many goals against Switzerland - one of the best defense in tournament.

Portugal vs Uruguay about to kick off in 20 minutes. I’m keen to watch this game, could be really good. Cavani, Nunez & Valverde starting for the South American’s. Ronaldo, Bruno & Silva start for Portugal, some real world class talent on show in this game. Try to watch it if you can guys.

I am amazed at the Uruguay ability to not score goals considering the names they have like Nunez and Cavani which are some great strikers that have done great wherever they have been playing,also Suarez played the first game without scoring a goal,their last game is against Ghana and they need a win in order to have a slim chance but most probably they are out of the World Cup since the group stages,Ghana just need a draw and they will be fine,even Portugal had trouble winning against Ghana.

I am happy for Portugal though,despite the drama going on in Manchester United the coach of Portugal said Ronaldo is the best player ever and he is showing maturity with the national team and by watching how they are playing they can go far in this World Cup.

It looks like VAR is bringing some better results that without it we would not have otherwise,a lot of VAR disallowed goals shows that this technology is working well totally different to our belief that we do not see any difference by implementing it.

Portugal secured the knockouts, but I have to admit they don't excite me.
They are compact and don't give much to the opposition but from what they've shown so far, I don't think they'll last there for long.

They have big problems in defense as we saw yesterday two times they were saved luckily by their goalkeeper because Uruguay players came two times face to face with the goalkeeper and they missed their chances which translates in them out of the tournament most likely.Portugal has a really strong attack and this is what so far has given them the 6 points and head of the group,I don't know if they will go far or not far but unless they improve their defending they do not stand a chances against big teams like Argentina,Brazil,Spain and France who look the better teams of the tournament so far.

Interesting day today in World Cup as it's all or nothing for so many teams.

Group A is crazy! As 3 of 4 teams still have chance to qualify but Netherlands is facing Qatar so most likely they will get those 3 points and then the battle remains for 2nd place between Senegal and Ecuador. Personally, I think Ecuador has a better football and they should win.

Group B is also crazy! 3 of total 4 teams can qualify here as well. England has the first chance , no doubt about it and Iran and USA will fight for 2nd place. Now , from USA group that qualified for World Cup , Canada is out , Costa Rica is out , most likely Mexico is out and USA remains the last chance for Central and North America to have a representative in the next phase so I will have to go with USA to qualify.

Slissy: stamping your mark on the pool, well done. I'm not having a good group stage in the pool so I've gone for some drastic results to see if I can catch up.

If I didn't have money riding on it, I'd definitely have enjoyed the game much more, the disallowed goal from Vinicius was really a product of the team playing a style and philosophy they're comfortable with. I know Messi had a great game also but this Brazil team, if they continue like this, far and away the winner-elect.

Enjoy the last world cup with this format, in 2026, there will only be 2 group games per team, so I feel like we'll see a lot of teams winning the first game camping out for a draw, while loser of first will need to win the next game. Could prove to be fun too but also some risk many teams will actually play for certain results in the 2nd game that suit both teams.

I think the mistake was starting Suarez, I actually like him a lot but feel like he's dampened the attack a little. I totally forgot about the Ghana handball, that now definitely makes me think this is a betting opportunity for WC's second red card.

I would be extremely surprised if Uruguay go past the group stages judging by the two games they have played.In the first one especially against Korea if I remember correctly they ended it without a true dangerous shot on goal and that for me says a lot.Ghana in the two games they have played they put their spirit into it by giving 100% of their capability and if they do the same in the last game against Uruguay I think they will qualify further and for me this will be a much deserved qualification for the African team.

It's the same with me, I lost in the Portugal vs Uruguay match, this was really beyond my expectations, against Uruguay I thought Uruguay would play pressing, but instead it was the other way around, instead it was Portugal that pressed Uruguay from the first to the last minute. what made me lose the bet yesterday, it's really difficult to predict the countries that are participating in this year's World Cup, it's as if they are going to play the bet making a lot of people lose the bet..

For me Argentina has the best team of many because Brazil is less or better. I don't know most of their team players except the ones we all know but no one is excluded even their European team can surprise us all by winning. Argentina won the World Cup, and I think that's solely because Messi deserved it, I mean what's left to win in his career,

The  Uruguayan star players "break it" in their teams but with the national team... a lot of drama in Uruguay it seems that they always have to be down on the scoreboard to react...

 Giorgian has to go from the start against Ghana, and Valverde!  the tactical disposition keeps him at a level of efficiency that is not acceptable for Uruguay, let's hope he "wakes up" with a good game against Ghana.

I think Ronaljo did not lie when just before the start of the World Cup (or after the first round - I don’t remember exactly) he said that he would be happy to score 0 goals but that Portugal would win. So I don't think there is any problem here.
In the first round, Portugal disappointed me a lot, after that game I watched Brazil - Serbia and was shocked how much better both teams look than Portugal. But yesterday's game instilled a certain optimism in me - they began to play more dangerously and energetically, and only a couple of times during the match "lost control" of the game. Therefore, if you look at the trend, then I am satisfied.

So big congratulations to Senegal,the first African team to make it further,I was not at all expecting such a bad play from Ecuador and Senegal took full advantage of their penalty and kept playing really well and got a well deserved qualifier.I think now the big event of tonight is without a doubt Iran vs USA and not only in sport level but also in political level,the bookies are heavily favoring the USA but I don't know what to expect from this game,I doubt Iran will surrender that easy as they are also in for a further qualification if they manage to get a draw at least against USA.

Word going round says Southgates team could be having four changes to bring in Foden and Marcus Rashford among them which tells you the seriousness the manager has given this game to qualify for the round of 16. Having to start Raheem in the first game was a gamble and it paid off, but form of a player should also be considered and hope Foden proves himself tonight with at least a goal. But the way the USA is playing, we can certainly expect a few more goals in the second half. I honestly didn't expect such a dominant performance. Maybe one more even before half time?
