I read a few articles yesterday on the World Cup in Qatar just to get in the mood for the start of the race today, and while I knew Qatar was a Muslim country, some restrictions that they have like covered clothes (for both genders), zero display of public affection, and alcohol restriction really make me wonder how the atmosphere will be this year (oh, and since criticizing the government is apparently also a crime there, we might not find out the true impressions until after the World Cup). How are people supposed to cheer, to hug when the team they support scores? And I think taking a T-shirt off is also not uncommon, yet this time illegal...

Still, a part of the stuff I read were the allegations of Qatar bribing Ecuador to lose the match, and yet the score is 0-2 with Ecuador winning. Not bad so far, at least the match-fixing allegation didn't get confirmed.

You are right, at least the match-fixing allegations have not been confirmed. I'm also curious to see how the tournament develops and whether the fans in Qatar (but also all over the world) will really get into the typical "World Cup spirit". Due to the large amount of criticism before the tournament and the sometimes bizarre rules of the host country, that won't be easy, I guess. But we will see.

In addition, it's pretty obvious that the Qatar team has so far been clearly outclassed by Ecuador. A little surprising, as the Qatar team was highly praised in the run-up to the World Cup.

I had this first game as 1-2 as I thought Qatar since the host country should have been at least able to score a goal but I am happy that I did not go for a draw which I almost was sure for a draw with goals because of all the news that were circulating before the start of this World Cup.

I am happy that Ecuador won,this clearly puts a lot of pressure in Netherlands to win their game against Senegal or if they don't they risk to surprise us in a really bad way while quite a lot of people believe they will go far in this World Cup.

Ecuador will be tested against Senegal, but this win puts Qatar on three loses strike, since pressure is on Netherlands and Senegal not to lose points, because then win over Ecuador is a must

Can't say that I had big expectations about Qatar, but I expected something better than they showed today. Especially in the first half, it looked like they don't know what they're doing in World Cup. And it's strange, considering that they had longest preparation, compared with other teams. Meanwhile Ecuador didn't showed nothing amazing today. They scored 2 goals and it was enough for them.

I wonder why don't the fifa bracket let you select the 3rd and 4th place, not even as a tie breaker. It is still an official world cup game, after all

My take from the match today.
Ecuador's captain Valencia is a fantastic player. He could have a hat-trick but unfortunately first one was an off-side. The semi referee system played a good role to the match. Ecuador's defense is cooperatively strong. They have not conceded goals for the last 11 plus playing hours now.

Qatar does not have a good defense and their forwards have no ability to score too. An average team in my opinion.

After losing by 2 - 0, isn't it confirmed now? There will always be a group who try to create hype. It's was their idea. I don't think there were any fixing at all. It's a big event and we are at 2022.

I think that when you are logged in through the browser in a desktop and not in a mobile app you just click "Dashboard" and then in the left you click "Tournaments" and there is where you will find all the tournaments that you are part of and all the pools that you have joined.

For the mobile app when you open it in the top you have all the tournaments you are taking part of,of course here they are with abbreviations like EPL for English Premier League and so on,it is easy.

England vs Iran, I think it's question not about England will win or no, but how many goals they will score. USA - Wales, it's a bit strange that USA is a bit favoured by bookmakers, I think a bit different. Though, don't reall know what to expect from USA.
And Senegal - Netherlands. It's sad that Mane won't play in World Cup, otherwise it would be very interesting game. Now I'm confident about Nethlerlands win.

I also think that England will win but unfortunately it is not going to be that easy as how many goals they score,this game may as well end as 2-0 but most probably there will be more goals,in the world cup appearances that Iran has made they have left me thinking that they are not as bad as we all think about them.

For the USA I agree with the bookmakers,they have made a lot of investments in their MLS,they have bought star players which have help the national players perform better so I expect a win from them tonight,when I compare the two national soccer leagues to me the MLS is stronger than Wales,if Wales had not Bale that would not be up to question if the USA would win.

For England and the Netherlands, I expect two easy wins for the favourites. But you're right, the USA - Wales game is an absolute mystery box. Both teams can win ofc, but it can also be a boring draw. I am quite interested to see how the majority of the participants in our betting game have placed their picks.

It is a pity that there has been another major farce about the captains' one-love binds today. Criticism of the world cup seems to be unrelenting.

I didn't see the game but two goals conceded from Iran is quite a bitter pill for England even with 6 goals scored. Overall I'm happy with the result as this game is in my multi bet today and now it's the Netherlands' turn to confirm their favorite status.

Am I wrong, or so far, supposedly terrible weather conditions do not manifest themselves in any way and do not prevent the players from showing their best game in any way?

Nobody expected England to score 6, not even their most trusted supporters, that is just not the way England plays big competitions. It all went their way today and they couldn't have asked for better start after all the disappointments in Nations League.

Netherlands just finished their job with 2:0 win, even if it looks clean on the paper it was anything but easy for them. It was very tight game and Senegal had some good chances. I am prediction Qatar to loose from both of these teams and then Senegal and Ecuador will decide who goes trough.

I just hoped those parties with the initial allegations of matches fixation can finally bury their miserable heads in shame, but their several wrong conceptions and general controversies about every other aspect that surrounds football and it's socialization that are barred way too late and it's almost like a premeditated actions given how close those new restrictions were put in place despite the heavy advertisement.

agree on this, I am in Footium group with mostly Brits in, and nobody predicted 6:2, from mere 200 entries, two 5:1 and all others more reasonable 3,4:0, with few going for draws
but this is on Iran as well, they are really bad, and USA would be a good test (Wales also seems lousy tonight)

so far, not being good at predictions, expecting more from underdogs, if they cannot show anything on first round, in different climate, they will just slide in other rounds, guessing most zero point squads in WC's lately this time

Cool Bale!  41 Goals with his national team and this is the most important goal of all... a deserved goal ( not precisely because of this football match, because of his career) for one of the best players of this 21st century.
