To be honest, I think that the price of the tickers are reasonable enough for you to witness the greatest NBA team in the world. It is already considered rare to see your favorite NBA players compete with some of the best. But in this case, you get to see all of the allstars combined playing in one night. Again, this is an opportunity of a lifetime where I would definitely purchase a ticket to watch it. I just hope that they do not further increase the price and they release it with available stocks.

In reality, however, I would be able to purchase the cheapest ticket as $400 for the next ticket is way too high for my budget as a student.

Technically speaking, there is no draw yet, it will be held next year, it just that the team USA was just assigned to play in the Philippines either in MoA or Araneta Col. So team USA vs Philippines is not sure yet but it is not impossible to happen if and only if PH team will dominate the game and got a chance to world's bests including USA.

About the ticket fees, well, expects it will be higher since this is a world cup than those typical PBA match, but not so expensive. Or the association will probably face a slap from the public.

They have tried it before when NBA stars visited the country but their management didn't allow a serious game; it was more of an exhibition and also, if both teams would get serious, for sure PH would be at the disadvantage for height and skills ofcourse, everyone knows that so there's no need for a betting game on this one.

Yeah, I do agree it's quite expensive and for sure those who have a lot of money to spare can watch this game live and have the privilege to interact with the NBA players.

But we all know how Filipino is, they probably save money just to be able to watch their favorite NBA players, there could be die hard fans around that is willing to pay that much money. How I wish I will get lucky to save that kind of amount without my wife getting mad at spending it on tickets for that expensive day. 
Big fan of NBA players especially the young stars now but it's a lot of money.
I hope there will be events where they give free tickets to subscribers or maybe a game like what they do for concerts of known singers, artists, and bands.
Usually, radio stations do have this kind of promotion and they really give it because my friend experienced it before winning a Linkin Park special ticket.

I have never travelled to the Philippines, so you may be right about the average salary. But then, FIBA won't be happy if the gate collection gets reduced. The world cup happens only once every 4 years or so, and they want to maximize the revenue. Also, this time the world cup is being co-hosted by 3 different countries - in addition to Philippines, there are matches scheduled in Japan (Okinawa City) and Indonesia as well. So you can't have lower prices for ticket in one country and a different pricing for another.

I thought that the Upper Box will be less way cheaper since general admission wasn't that of a thing since it's just around 2k PHP. I think it's worth the Upper Box for the semis and the finals since it's still evident that the team USA will still be on that feat, they'll make it to the semis or quarterfinals.

This ticket is too expensive for me cause I can't afford such hard earned money but in future I might be able to do do these types of tours cause it's my dream to fulfill such destinations that could be a joy for me.
Basketball is a great game but not all people are fans unlike me that I am a keen fan of playing basketball. There are many big players that will be able to make name but still basketball cannot dethrone Cricket and Also Football.

Not because the Philippines selected Team USA as their preferred team to play the group phase here in the country, but it doesn't mean Gilas will face Team USA.

If it is not possible to do that, then the best thing to do will be to close this thread once the current discussion is over. But then there is still 9 months to go for the tournament. 500$ is an average salary for a professional worker not the minimum wager. Minimum wahe earner only earns half of your assumptions not included all the tax charges onmthe salary. The lowest tier for 45$ is still insanely high(not considering the value of the game) for normal Filipino worker which is most common baskerball fans here. Besides the lowest tier view is just like watching dots from above and you are mostly just watching on the screen to see the close up action.

The only good on availing that low tier seat is the crowd experience since most of the people purchasing that seat are those very cheerful and excited to watch the games.

Not sure about some popular arenas here in PH, but referring to Smart Araneta, Upper Boxes do have a good view. The one you see on live stream or TV is way different when you are on a Live Game as a Live Audience. Been in Smart Araneta several times already and the usual tier we always choose is lower tiers (Upper box Section). I will disagree that the view on that tier is like watching dots. It's very clear and has a good view.

Anyways, did FIBA already mentioned the possible venues for the games that will be held here in PH?
