Are there any football players or players that caught your attention?

Mohammed Kudus from Ghana who is currently strengthening Ajax Amsterdam.
Azzedine Ounahi from Morocco who is still a player for Angers.
Josko Gvardiol, Croatian centre-back who plays for RB Leipzig.

Those are the three players that caught my attention the most during the 2022 World Cup. They played pretty well in their respective positions and they had a great role in their respective teams while in Qatar.

For the attacker position, Kylan Mbappe is still the favorite player. Apart from winning the achievement of being the top scorer at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Mbappe is the most difficult player to protect against opposing defenders.

There were also saves that marked the final match. We can say that his save in the 120th minute was perhaps the breaking moment of the match. He also made great saves in penalty shootouts. There is even a very curious fact, in the 2002 World Cup they chose Oliver Kahn as best player of the cup, not only best goalkeeper, but best player, and in the final he conceded 2 goals with a huge fail. Ronaldo was the 2nd best player of that Cup.
People contested this award quite a bit, and I am sure that if they chose the best player after the final match, the result would be different, with Ronaldo first and Oliver second.

It is very difficult to define the best goalkeeper because of the method.
After all, is the best goalkeeper the one with the best numbers? The one who takes his team the furthest? Who makes the most difficult saves?

Mbappe shows how dominant he was even with the presence of Messi and other big players in Argentina and teams that they defeated on the world cup.

And in the final, although he scored one goal by himself the other two came from penalty kicks. I thought that although he received the golden boot, there was nothing special in his performance this time. For comparison, I would rate Julián Álvarez ahead of him.

Yeah, it's a problem with golden boot reward because it is not awarded to the best offensive player, but to a player that scores the most goals during the World Cup. There probably are better offensive players than Mbappe, but rules are rules.

We could also argue that Argentinian goalkeeper didn't deserve a golden glove. Look at this comparison between Martinez and Livakovic:

This was the only victory FIFA decided the Golden Globes deserved for Martinez.

Croatia is an underdog team in this world cup, the most important Croatia's player e.g. Luca Modric is currently 37 years old. The next world cup, Modric will already become 41 years old, I really doubt Modric will still have a good performance like this season. If Modric didn't play, I expect Croatia team would be weak.

That was probably the best save I've seen in the World Cup and much more it was in the Finals, that accounts to how they won the World Cup. If Kolo Muani had scored that one and haven't been saved by Martinez, it would have been over for them considering the time is gonna run out in matter of minutes but they pushed it until the penalty kicks.

I didn't say that France goalie should have won the award. Livakovic is Croatia national team's goalie. While I agree that Martinez led his team to become the World Cup winner, but I still think that Livakovic had more great saves than Martinez. I know that FIFA often takes into consideration only the last game so I'm not surprised that they gave the reward to Martinez.

Benzema is a crucial player who make Real Madrid won by comeback, this is why Benzema is won the Ballon d'Or. I think most people agree if Benzema deserved to get it because there's not many complaints or personal attack to Benzema. It's different with Ballon d'or 2020 where it's really clear Lewandowski is the winner, but the judge is unfair to choose Messi. Messi's performance is good, but it's not that good compared to Lewandowski.

Morocco's player has played a very strong tournament. And against all the strong countries, Morocco really played to win. Morocco's gesture was beautiful when they eliminated Spain in the dressing room towards Nouri, a young player who suffered from a heart problem and will probably never walk or talk again. You don't see other teams doing that very often. Morocco's team spirit has also ensured that they have come this far. Kudus hasn't been able to show enough because Ghana as a country just wasn't strong enough to get through. I haven't spotted many real talents, but Gvardiol from Croatia has made an impression and Morocco also had 2 midfielders very strong. A nice transfer awaits them.

For me this player from Morocco Sofyan Amrabat was one of the best player in the tournament. He reminds me of Patrick Vieira. He would easily compete with Fabinho in the Midfield if Liverpool signed should him. Although rumors had it that Tottenham Hotspur were interested in him, I hear he prefers to move to Liverpool. That is a great choice by him.

And these two goals were important for France to avoid certain defeat. Kylian Mbappe took two penalties and completed his hat-trick. Kylian Mbappe's performance with the big team has not been the best in this tournament. I think there were many players who performed better than him in this World Cup.

Mbappe may not have played very well but without his 2nd goal the World Cup game might not go far. And such an exciting situation would not have arisen. A player can not do well in everyday. Maybe the same thing happened with Mbappe. But overall, many talented players have emerged in this World Cup.

Have any of you watched the games when Croatia played against Japan, Brazil and Morocco? I won't go into which game is more important, but Livakovic impact in those three games was crucial.

There were many star football players in this tournament. Some of them played their last tournament. But I focused more on young football players instead of them. For example, Pedri and Gavi had a good tournament. They have gained very important experience here. Gavi is 18 years old. Pedri is 20 years old. They have many years ahead of them. If they keep playing like this, they can turn into very big stars like Xavi and Iniesta.


The latest name to be linked with a move to Bavaria is Croatian international Dominik Livakovic. According to Sky Sports in Germany, Die Roten has initiated talks with Livakovic’s representatives to explore a transfer in January. The Croatian shot-stopper has a contract until 2024 with Dinamo Zagreb.

Also, Croatia's goalkeeper Livakovic had a very good tournament. There have been reports that Bayern Munich are interested in him. I don't think Dinamo Zagreb can keep him in their squad any longer.

But France's substitutes played superbly in the second half, allowing Kylian Mbappe to get the ball. And Argentina were also somewhat erratic towards the end of the second half, choosing to play more defensively than offensively, allowing France to increase their attack volume. But yes, Kylian Mbappe's goals made for a memorable World Cup final match that will not be easily forgotten.

There's no guarantees that the named teams will be participating or be included in the qualification in the next World Cup. Even the defending champions aren't that sure that they can lead the competition because it's been also said that this will be Messi's last World Cup too, so that will mean that their team's power will much be affected. Although, that not yet sure but that is already likely that it is his last indeed.
