What is the crypto projects in top 20 that will fail to retain their position in the next bull market? There is a saying that in every bull market new projects will take over the top 20, do you think another project can rob the positions that Avalanche, Matic, Polkadot and Solana tomorrow?

Hard to say though since these projects are also growing but for sure other coins will replace them and do better. This is a competition as well and those who are doing their best to provide quality projects and services usually stays on top, I see some coins experiencing a big drop right now and if they cannot survive the drop, for sure they will be replaced by other good project.

Solana is the coin that has the most chance of getting out of the top 20 during the bull market later, and you just have to pay attention to coins that have problems in their development, they will easily get out of the top list, and also changes in trend will be very strong reasons for the coins that are currently available being replaced in the top position, can be prolonged or only be temporary, the point is that nothing is eternal in crypto.

I think sol will lost its position but I think most certainly that the coins that's gonna be losing their rank in the next bullrun definitely are the ones that somewhat stuck in term of market capitalization and hardly could grow, it was like that in the past where some of the coins just got stuck can't grow more and then that's the start of their downhill journey into some mediocre coins, but btc and eth will stay in their current rank.

undoubtedly matic will never lost top 20 rank in short time,
but uni,shib,avax and leo these coins can be lost their position very soon,
in the bull run some coins will reach in top 20 rank it's very possible because of lots of hype projects.

I can’t say which cryptocurrencies can leave the top 20 list in the next bullrun, but I believe that new cryptocurrencies can get into this list. Of course, the struggle for a place in the top 20 list will be strong, but we have already observed that new cryptocurrencies often come, but there are not so many of them. At the same time, we must take into account the fact that we cannot know the names of the new top 20 cryptocurrencies, as this will be hidden for as long as possible so that we do not know and cannot prepare.

DOT, SOL, and MATIC seem quite strong because their market caps are quite large and they have big communities.
I agree that these coins are unlikely to lose their positions in the next bullrun, except if there are big bad issues to happen on them.
However, since they have very strong fundamentals, I am sure they will survive at the top 20.

How about Doge and XRP?
SHIB and Doge are the same, they are meme coins. If no hype on meme coins anymore, they may drop their positions.
While XRP, this coin still didn't fix the problem with SEC. If there is bad news related to the case with SEC, it may gradually drop its position.

I would be amazed if more than 3 of the current top20 coins succeeded to keep their positions. The nature of crypto as small, emerging, and high risk market makes it hard for any project to maintain its advancement and that is due to many reasons, one of them is the competition between many entities that target the same domain, like the smart contract platforms, there are tens of projects in this domain and many are useless or just a clone of other projects. The other reason is the market cycle which enforce unprepared or unexperienced projects owners to shut down, therefore I expect many of the top20 will not be there when the next bull market starts.

I can’t say which cryptocurrencies can leave the top 20 list in the next bullrun, but I believe that new cryptocurrencies can get into this list. Of course, the struggle for a place in the top 20 list will be strong, but we have already observed that new cryptocurrencies often come, but there are not so many of them. At the same time, we must take into account the fact that we cannot know the names of the new top 20 cryptocurrencies, as this will be hidden for as long as possible so that we do not know and cannot prepare.

There's always one or a couple of projects who could really make it to the top rankings when bull run approaches which is  something a very standard thing to happen.This is why on the current ranking that we are seeing, we cant really still make out assurance that it would really be on the same name if another bull run would hit up but of course it would be excluding Bitcoin itself which is something that cant really be avoided
nor really that easily be changed up or be overtaken by a certain altcoin.This is why its really a matter of risk taking if you've decided up some low cap or ranking coins to be purchased on.
There are honestly some hidden gems out of those low rankings but choosing which one would be the toughest challenge.

If you mention the top 20, it is including BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, BUSD, BNB, ADA, MATIC, DOT. Do you think these coins will be out of the top 20 in the next bullrun season? IMO, surely there will be more than 3 of those coins to survive in the top 20. I believe BTC, ETH, and stable coins stay at least, no reason for these coins to drop out. These coins have different concepts, they also don't compete each other. In addition, I am sure the developers/teams of the top 20 coins are experienced enough. They won't get many investors and won't get big market caps if they don't have a good experience. People won't trust unexperienced developers/teams.

I always trust bitcoin, ethereum and bnb to retain their top 20 positions for sure, guaranteed (and if you want to consider stable ones then them too) but all others are open hunting season. Anything from avax to doge to litecoin, anything there could go out of top 20 for sure and there is no reason why it shouldn't or couldn't go out.

It's going to be a tough period for people to live in this fear empire where we do not know if it will go down or not, but we have to just realize that it's not that easy to keep something at top 20, it requires constant hype and interest towards it and if there is nothing exciting then the community will stop caring about it and buying more of it.

Yeah, that usually happens, in 2017's bull run, there are a lot of projects, very good one that is in the top 10-20. But during the bear market, some of them went -90% and was not able to recover in time and when we reach the bull run in 2022, they are either dead or just didn't get the support of their investors just like years ago.

So again, it's cyclical, it's hard to maintain position in top because the market is very competitive, only good projects like the obvious, BTC and ETH could remain, while the rest, their could be a lot of changed in the positions. And yeah, if there is project that offers another alternative to the crypto that you mentioned, they could be relegated down below and replace by new one in the future.

In and after each bear market, ranks change a lot. More potential top altcoins fall down or get rekted like Solana, Terra

Binance BNB ranked 16th in 2018 and Binance USD ranked at a same position in 2021. Now BNB is at 4th and BUSD is at 6th.

CMC has undergone a lot of modifications since 2013 up till the present day (2022). Many coins that are now unknown to me were once in the top 20 CMC. Now, where are they? Lose value or disappear into thin air?

The historical snapshot you provided, it appears that the top coins on CMC are changed annually. This indicates that towards next year, we'll witness altcoins that have topped another, but one thing stands out in all of this: Bitcoin still reigns supreme as the king of cryptocurrencies (number one)

yep, at least these three coins are really belongs from big community and such fundamentally strong i believe btw i'm confused about solana, it’s actually can never to keep top rank position for it’s excessive fall.

If the position of the coin in CMC changes, then it's value do also change. Either it drop or it increases. So a concern like this can still be related on the coins that he hold inside his portfolio. Coins who are on the top 5 or even the top 10 are for sure will remain in their positions but those who will likely change are the coins who are on the 11th spot up to the 20th.

Maybe some of the coins above the top 20th spot are going to enter when the bull run comes but anyway, you are right that it's not about the ranking that matters because some who climb the ranks are only the coins who are being hyped up and these coins doesn't eve have any strong fundamentals or solid use cases.

SOL might still be on a big trouble so I think in the next bull run SOL will be replaced by another project, its hard to say which one but every bull run there’s always a new coin/token that enters the top 20 spot so probably some project have to give up their spot for the new bette projects. CMC updates though even on a bear market, it will always depend on the market valuation based on the selling price.

usually coin that gonna gets replaced in their position are the ones that has reached their full potential that they could hardly attain new all time high, that's where the new coin comes in and usually accompanied with really fast growth, and the cycle continues in every bullruns.
matic in this case is relatively new coins unlike sol that have bad fortune of being invested by companies that are in the brink of bankruptcy I think matic will be safe for even other bullruns to come.

Have to keep the current developments concerning crypto in general in mind.
Circle, Blackrock, GS lobby a lot. It will pay off for them and I think it makes sense to follow
the money.
I expect Aptos and Sui to emerge, and Meta(Facebook) to make a comeback and achieve their Metaverse mainstream goals sooner or later.
Imo all associated cryptos will do very well, thats why I bet on APT, FLOW, ROSE, MATIC. Still holding a bag of SOL too.

For the fact that,  any project that is operating in the top 20 on coin market capitalization will build an enabling ecosystem that will not allow them to miss out of the bull run unless those projects that already have a pre planned dump mechanism. Top 20 ranking is mostly dominated by coins with sustainable ecosystem but that does not eliminate the chances of dump, Luna coin did is and Solana is doing same right now.

Don't think so, coins that have reached their full potential will not want to lose the market trust of investors, so, at that, there will make a sustainable plan that will help them not to get replaced by new coins no matter how high potential those coins are, there may be a possible drawback for some coins but the market is involved in a lot of crisis in the later part of last year, and that has helped the top coins to prepare for the journey ahead since 2024 halving is around the corner.

From the top 20, sooner or later, all PoW cryptocurrencies will leave, except Bitcoin. This has been going on for quite some time. If you remember 2013, then the top 20 consisted of only PoW coins, but now the trend has changed and all large projects choose PoS model or switch to it.

Lol look at those new project that you are calling to be changing the market , are they successfull in long term? or just for short term?
I may trust new project but for short term only and not for Holding , I have seen them growing and falling so my trust will remain for long time running coins like Bitcoin and of course Ethereum and Binance , also considering Ripple even there are lot of problem facing.

Probably they only climb up the ranks because of hypes but once it dies down, their ranks can also fall again and the old top crypto can go back on their previous positions but there are top coins too who can go bad or can turn into a scam same with luna where they can lose their positions permanently.

and isn't the work of some manipulator and whales? to  push those coins and suddenly dumped after a while?

I am not sure but sometimes this comes to my mind as it has been in the market for years now.

Coins that are above them are now going to move in their position. New coins that are sincere (non hyped) may take some time to climb the top ranks but it's worth it because they can sustain their positions. I think cmc ranking can change at anytime depending on the coins performance, and doesn't only change right after every bull run.

sincerity of the project is depend on the support of the community , there are several good project that i use to know but dies now or stagnant because of lack from support of the market and investors .
