Request: New Local Board for Pakistan (Urdu)

I come here with my Local thread stats after a break of few months. As we were progressing quite impressively, i stopped posting updates here. This time we have managed to get over 500 posts for the month of October, which is a great achievement indeed. This report is prepared by our member Cheema02, who is one of the active and knowledgeable members of our local thread.

Now that we have only two months left in 2025, our wish for the local board is still pending:

Not loosing hope, hopefully one day we get our local board. We might be missing something that's why its not yet created, otherwise number it should have been already created.

Don't forget about us, we are waiting too. Although I highly doubt whether we'll ever get a local board or not, because of all the abuses, recent reputation cases and so on! I am kinda discouraged to be honest. I believe we still have a long way to go, before we can again expect our own local board.

Btw, what do you personally think? You should know better, because you been giving out the monthly reports!

Yup, Rikafip is doing a great job compiling the stats for each local thread, and we are also sending monthly progress about our local board, but it seems that this is not on the admin's priority to create a local board anytime soon, but still we keep our hopes alive as always.

You guys have so many active local users, whereas I fear we don't have half the numbers! I believe this is one of the major drawbacks we have! Not to mention you guys have multiple merit sources (which encourages local posts), where we have none! I'm guessing we might have to wait a few more years than you, to have a board of our own! Until then, we just have to keep the thread active and alive.

Btw, how many of these users actually, regularly posts in your local board/thread! Even though we have local members! Many have abandoned the thread, not posting there anymore!

Thanks for sharing it here, our stats are improving year by year but I did not realized its been 3 years now, after knowing about the time I feel like we are not going to get local board even this year but we should never lose hope that's what it is all about. Never Lose hope in BTC and never Lose hope in getting our local board.

We have an increasing number of participants, posts, and what other factor is needed I don't know, but so far I can only hope maybe after seeing his post theymos or whoever allocates local boards will be in a good mood and will say okay let's just give them their local board.

When was the last Local Board created? I guess it was the Nigerian Local board that was created a few years back, and since then, we haven't heard about any local board creation.

Although you people are doing a good job, I think there is no intention or priority to create another local board. This is my assumption but that is what I see as of now. Who knows, one day you may get a local board, but I don't see any hint by theymos or mods on creating any new local board.

I doubt that there were any signs or hints from theymos before he decided to create the Nigerian board, so I don't think that's a factor here.

Keep in mind that before the Nigerian local board was created no new boards had been added for 6–7 years, and it also seemed like no new boards would be added in the near future. Yet theymos decided to add a new one. It's true that the Nigerian numbers (before them getting their own local board) were better, but the Pakistani ones are in my opinion good enough.

Keep in mind that before the Nigerian local board was created no new boards had been added for 6–7 years, and it also seemed like no new boards would be added in the near future. Yet theymos decided to add a new one. It's true that the Nigerian numbers (before them getting their own local board) were better, but the Pakistani ones are in my opinion good enough.

theymos as an admin on this forum has access to all statistical data on this forum.
The activity of local members, the number of posts and active members, is certainly the main and most important criterion in deciding whether a local language will get its own local board.
The mere request to create a local board and wishes will not be enough if there are no concrete arguments for such a decision based on statistical data.
I wish the Pakistani members the best of luck in their request, but they can help themselves the most by increasing their activity on this forum.

If you take a look at yearly stats, you will see that Pakistani was ranked 9th last year, ahead many of the local boards, and what's also important, they were one of the few (among more active boards) that didn't have a significant decrease of activity compared to 2024, meaning they showed stability.

But I guess something is missing, since theymos is so reluctant to give them local board despite their numbers (which are imho very good cinsidering that all they have is 1 thread).

You already mention all about reasons only one person can give real time explanation he is waiting for right time because there are too many boards which fail to keep balance and its having not good impact on forum overall while few other things are also which are not discussed here.
I personally feel mostly members are not well aware about how to write Urdu on this forum which is primary and national language they are using Roman words which are also not good members needed to be having used Urdu as Bangladeshi using Bangla and many others doing Indians always have luxury to use many languages, and they are doing on their board but sadly on Pakistani board there is no Urdu posts which increase their chances for having their separate board.
Maybe many other Pakistani members will be not happy with my post but always want to talk few things about own mistakes which needed to be fixed before having talk about own board even I talk with irfan_Pak10 he was agreed about my concerns about few things I created thread against him about his merit service still he is positive and humble, but community needs many things to have their own board which they are not doing properly.

I am not sure if theymos is reluctant to give us the local board or, as others mentioned, maybe it's not his priority. Since the Nigerian local board was created so many years ago, I am not sure when our local board will be created, but we aren't losing hope during this waiting time.

Only theymos knows the real answer, but your number of posts and active members at the moment are similar to theirs before they got their local board back in December 2022. Now, they are by far the most active local board and their numbers since then exploded.

There must be some other factors, beside the pure numbers. Maybe post quality, or more high ranking active members?

Why do you think he wouldn't answer? I don't think he's so busy that he wouldn't have time to answer some important question for the functioning of this forum, and give an answer that many members are waiting for.
Of course it's a big responsibility to run such an important forum, with so much history and members, but theymos is still active on this forum and sometimes even answers publicly in threads on the forum.
When I sent him 1 question 2 years ago, my query was resolved within half an hour.
Obviously there are some other reasons, besides the local statistics of Pakistani members, why there is still no decision on this local board and apparently only 1 person knows the answer.
