If we were to believe this words of Bob Arum, this fight will be the biggest fight in the lower division next and i personally believed that this would happen as Haney needed this fight with Loma to get the respect of the hard core fans but also a risky one for him as he has everything to lose to the master technician Lomachenco.

In the other boxing matches, I usually consider about the reach advantage about the boxers, but Lomachenko is an exception. There's huge reach difference between Lomachenko and Haney, Lomachenko reach is 166 cm while Haney reach is 180 cm. But Lomachenko have fought many boxers that has 180 cm reach e.g. Commey, Nakatani, and Campbell, Lomachenko doesn't have any problem with it.

With a high technical, a lot stamina and quick movement by Lomachenko, he would win against Haney.

Let us assume the fight is about to happen, I think Devin Haney has the advantage here.  I saw it when the two talked in the post-fight interview and see how huge Devin Haney is.  Even Lomachenco joke around if Haney is a lightweight. 

If Loma shows the same move in his last fight, I think there is no chance he can win against Devin Haney because his performance is quite disappointing compared to his best performance.  So I think Devin Haney will be the one with the advantage here and Loma might be the underdog.

Yes, I think it was the first time that we have seen Loma very vulnerable or at least his performance is not what it used to be in his last fight.

How I wished they confirmed it, it's going to be a battle of two technical fighters who rely on the beauty and science of boxing, it's hard for me to analyze who has the advantage in this matchup, both fighters can beat just anybody on their best night I'm sure for the legacy they want to face each other, unlike Ryan Garcia, both fighters, are not cherry picking their fights so if Bob Arum deals with both camps they will definitely take this fight, this is to give their fans and the boxing community a match they deserve.

I think this is already made verbally, as long as Haney won against Kambosos and then Loma against the young Ortiz.

So by principle this is already set up by Top Rank, both fighters are under their umbrella so it make sense that Arum will have to make this fight, fans wanted it, and all in house money for him. Probably we will just have to wait for the official venue and date but I will say that 99% this fight is made already.

Agree, maybe Loma just have another off night but yet in his worst day (not counting a injury), he can still win fights. So mostly ring rust has caught up with him but it doesn't mean he is losing his prime years. I think he is still in the peak of his career. And this is what he dream of, winning a unified title because his first attempt was a failure as he was injured against Teo Lopez that time. So this is want we fans wanted to see and both fighters have good ring IQ and the winner will probably the one who makes the best adjustment in the fight.

There's no official announcement yet but the good news is that both camps are ready to make this fight happen. Let's keep this thread as the official thread until that big fight will happen. In terms of advantage, it's hard to guess because they are both great boxers, maybe Haney has the advantage but only a slight advantage, not a big deal though.

This is a fight where there's no clear favorite, but judging on their respective record, you can tell that Haney has the better one, which makes him the favorite on this fight. These two will not back out if the negotiation push through, and both fighters are not afraid to carve their legacy they don't have such thing as a tune fight or a cherry-picked, its hard to guess or predict between two technically gifted fighters will go down on who has a better fight plan and implement the fight plan well, an injured free Loma always comes out the better fighter his fight against Lopez is a fluke because he has a broken arm, and Haney is always dangerous he is a master of his craft, its going to be a hard pick for the betting public if this fight happen.

Now, this is a good match. I'd like Lomachenko to win. I'm a big fan of him, but I think Devin Haney has the right tools to really challenge the boxing maestro. Loma will probably have a hard time getting inside Haney with the latter's significant reach advantage, but he has to. That's his only way to score. He needs to come closer to land those punches.

Haney, however, is not only good in maintaining that distance, he is also a good counter puncher. Any attempt for Loma to come in, there will definitely be a punch waiting. But I think Loma still has that speed and footwork. He can probably handle Haney well.

I think it's important that the boxing schedule between Devin and Vasyl Lomachenko is important and needs to be announced soon, the official betting schedule, I saw on TV the sports section, as Devin's father comments on the announcement for his son to fight Lomachenko in the ring in the future, announced soon he said.

Better days of Loma have passed and he is small against Haney who also has the speed to match Loma. Loma has a slim chance of winning against a younger and more powerful puncher Haney that will be what other observers in boxing I suppose.

You might not see this fight come to materialize unless there is good money for Loma to gain because this is close to a certain loss for him.

Oh, I see. I personally have also thought that Devin Haney will face Shakur Stevenson instead of Lomachenko while the undisputed champion is not yet due for a mandatory fight. I've read a couple of article that is also saying the very same thing and that Haney wanted a much more interesting fight, a boxer that still in his prime years to be exact, that's why Shakur Stevenson's name has surfaced.

Considering both Haney and Loma's recent fight, I think it's Haney who will have the upper hand once this bout will be announced with its final details. The latter is still good no doubt, both of them are impressive when it comes to technicalities but Loma is somehow showing some signs that will get him into troubles in this fight, although, at the back of my mind is saying that maybe Loma is still adjusting. I guess, we will know it soon in this bout.

^^ Shakur will have his time, yes he is in his prime but this is a different weight class for him. Let the old dogs like Loma achieved what he has looking for in this division, get all the belts. And I think this is more interesting than a Shakur fight because Stevenson is somewhat a defensive fighter as well. So it will be somewhat boring to see both Haney and Shakur I reckon.

I will still give Loma a chance to win, yes, Haney might be in his prime and tall and long, but we have seen Loma fight this kind of fighters before and won thru his skills. So I will go with Loma probably in a decision.

I would agree to that. Haney has been very excellent from his old performances, and those I’ve seen from Lomachenco is quite nothing compared to Haney. But I don’t want to jump to conclusion as there might be twists and surprises when the real fight happens. Of course, I believe Lomachenco has his own hidden potentials too, and he’s not gonna make it this far if he is just an ordinary underdog boxer. So let’s see when the real match happens.
