Well! real fighters are willing to risk their title to prove to everyone how strong he is by beating every stronger fighter one after another and some of them will gonna given chance to have twice or thrice matches to be able to have a chance to win against him. But once again he will gonna prove to everyone once more like what happened to Fury when he fought Wilder thrice. If this match will be approved and they will gonna have a close match, I'm sure they will gonna given chance to fight again since it will be a blockbuster hit in the boxing world since both fighters are popular.

Looking at the last fight of Loma, I think he is not in his prime anymore. The early 30s to mid-30s are the most common for most boxers to lose their primes. I believe Haney will be the stronger and faster guy and he will win against this version of Loma. As a huge fan of Loma since the start of his pro career, I hate to see him lose. Maybe Haney cannot make the weight and just move up. Cheesy

Time flies so fast. I remember when Lomachenko first came to America with his manager and IIRC his dad and Usyk were there too, in order to entertain the best offers they could get in their forthcoming professional debuts. Lomachenko was so ambitious but very cool. He wants his first professional fight to be a world title fight right away. He does not want to waste his years on tune-ups against nobodies. He wants to turn pro with a legacy to achieve. Now he is on the sunset of his career but he built a hell of a legacy. Second fastest to become a world champion in only his 3rd fight and if I am right he is also the fastest to become a 3-division champion in 12 fights. I don't know if he holds the record as the fastest to become a 2 division champion, he made it in 7 but maybe a Japanese is holding this record.

Hate to say it, but yeah! Devin Haney has the advantage in all aspects in this match. He's young and hungry, while Loma has been slowing down and were most likely gonna see him more obvious being not on his prime anymore.
Just like Linares said, this is going to be a 60/40 in favour for Haney, as he is more quicker, faster, and has more punching power than Loma. Though Loma had a fantastic finish against Linares. But, who knows, Loma will improve somehow from his recent fights.

I'm not sure about the punching power category though, Haney is pillow fisted, while Loma has some power behind his punch. And if I'm not mistaken, both has face Linares before, Jorge Linares losing to them.

Yeah, he could have inside track of the two and could predict based on his experienced fighting them, but still very hard to predict even if Loma has a bad showing in his last game and we can't simply say that he is not in his prime anymore.

Nicely said there bro and i definitely agree with you that Loma has lost a step since his prime, maybe to age and that last fight of his was the testament that indeed he is not in his prime anymore. But as a fan of Loma, i give him the benefit of the doubt that his performance last outing might have to do with ring rust as he was out of the ring for almost a year due to war in Ukraine.

The thing with Haney is that he is not a knockout artist like Teofimo Lopez and this might give Loma the advantage as i think he will not hesitate to engage because even if he will be hit with a power shot, he can take it and we all know that Loma is also KO artist aside from being a technical one.

This is going to be an exciting one and BTW, 3 already have voted and its all for Loma hehe.

If Loma will be quicker and smarter than Haney, then will be able to catch him clean and probably hurt him. Haney has only 51.72% KO rate, but he does well in other areas like he can frustrate his opponent until it will be easy for him to score. He is not so focused to win by KO, he likes to take it slow and wear down his opponent if possible, so Loma has to take care of Haney early if he wants to end with a big win.

I think this is already made verbally, as long as Haney won against Kambosos and then Loma against the young Ortiz.

So by principle this is already set up by Top Rank, both fighters are under their umbrella so it make sense that Arum will have to make this fight, fans wanted it, and all in house money for him. Probably we will just have to wait for the official venue and date but I will say that 99% this fight is made already.

And yes, this is going to be a great match games, style makes fight as we say, so it will be another test for Loma's ability to overcome a very technical boxer such as Devin Haney.

Agree, this is a set-up which i think will benefit the boxers and the fans as well. This fight is 99 percent a go because they are under the Top Rank promotions and i could say that Bob Arum is just selecting a date and venue that could maximize the revenue of the proposed fight.

Poll has already been added and based on the comments here, we could expect an even result from the voting.

Surely a win-win situation for Bob Arum because either way, he is the one who will organize the future fights of the undisputed champion because both boxers are from his stable and we already had the same speculation about this bout few months ago where both of the said boxers still have their own respective fight to overcome before facing each other. Now, it's almost certain that these two will share a ring, few more details and it's good to go.

I voted already mate, thanks for putting up the poll and so far Loma is a huge favorite amongst boxing fans here.

And yeah, probably this could be in New York, or any places that both of this boxers have a lot of fans. Easy win for Bob Arum and probably the split will be like 55/45 here who ever they think is the A-side. Haney has a lot of leverage now since he has the belt, but for sure Loma can also bring fans to watch his highly anticipated fight.

Loma will give Haney a hard fight to win but Haney being a younger fighter will likely win by decision just as he did with the last few fights he did. Haney being a young fighter still is not as good as Loma in his prime. 50/50 I think.

Different outcome if Loma can knock Haney but if the fight ends in 12 rounds, it will be Haney's victory.

i am also thinking that the odds may not be far from each other. haney is 10 years younger than loma. however, we can't say loma is old as he is only 34 yrs old, which is still considered prime in this sports. if this will go the distance, haney may win via UD. as his stamina can be a great factor in the last rounds. but remember, both of them have had their last fight only this october this year. so both are quite active.

Yes, this will be a tough shot for Lomachenko to get the odds on his favor because he is not that agile anymore compared to his younger years where he was dominating his opponent easily as at that time his movements were really hard to read. Judging his performance from his recent return in the ring, it is hard to say yet that he is already past his prime, maybe in this bout we will see more of Loma's return.

Surprised to see about the poll too, seems other users are not that sure as well who got the upper hand.

While it's so good to agree on you mate, we still can't say that as we don't know what the future holds. I'm on Haney's side too because the kid gave a good impression on me ever since he surfaced from being an ordinary challenger to a champion and until he became the undisputed champion in the lightweight division, but that is not yet enough for me to speculate the same thing because Loma is still a veteran boxer who got a vast IQ inside the ring. But yes, in terms of upper hand, that goes to Haney.

~snip~

Better days of Loma have passed and he is small against Haney who also has the speed to match Loma. Loma has a slim chance of winning against a younger and more powerful puncher Haney that will be what other observers in boxing I suppose.

Loma isn't in his prime anymore. At 34, it's probably downhill for his boxing prowess already, but he hasn't completely lost it yet. He still got it, although he's up against somebody who could indeed match his speed and also has the size, reach, and height advantage. This is definitely challenging for him. But I think Haney doesn't have the aggression that would make Loma worry. Besides, Loma also got the footwork that helps him score those points. After all, this fight will probably go the distance and end up in UD.

You might not see this fight come to materialize unless there is good money for Loma to gain because this is close to a certain loss for him.

There will probably be good money for Loma. Also, one of the usual stumbling blocks that prevent boxing matches from happening is the competition among promoters. Fortunately, that isn't a problem anymore as far as this fight is concerned. They're both under Bob Arum's Top Rank. So that saves a lot of negotiations.

Ok let's here it straight again from Arum,

Quote
Arum believes the fight will be announced in the coming weeks.

"That fight is essentially made. We're looking for the site and the date and that'll be announced shortly," Arum told Sky Sports. "I had lunch with Bill Haney, Devin's father and Devin joined us and they're all ready.

https://www.boxingscene.com/arum-on-haney-vs-lomachenko-fight-essentially-made--171517

Probably it's the date that they are discussing in the background, there are no hindrance whatsoever, both boxers are already on board on this fight and we fight fans are very excited to see this fight.

Others says that Loma is getting old specially in his last fight wherein we didn't see the hi tech in that fight.

On the other hand, Haney is fresh from back to back wins against Kambosos and has all the belts.

So the making of a great fight is already laid out, it's just the boxers that we need to wait and give us a good showing maybe before the first quarter of this year.

That's quite relieving to know that this fight is already 90% good to go and that they are only struggling to find the right schedule and place to set-up the fight. I understand that part because organizers needed an exact place and time to maximize the profits that will be generated in the fight, and that's no other big events that will happen on the same day too because the people will be divided.

Hopefully this fight will be arranged as soon as possible because we've been wanting this fight for more than a year already as both boxers are known for their impressive technicalities. I just hope that Loma is not that out of his prime yet so that we will witness a much entertaining fight.

That's the beauty of this fight, one has an advantage over the other, not a total mismatch that bettors would always pray that the result will be an upset lol.

They say that you are only good as your last performance but I think its not the scenario with Devin Haney because IMO, the style of Kambosos is tailored-fit for Haney to look good in the ring, and no matter how many times they fought the result will be the same.

For Loma's last fight, though we think he lost some steps in there but probably ring rust was also a factor as he was fighting a war in his country for months until he decided to fight again in the ring and his performance was way beyond our expectation but for me this would not be my basis if i'm going to bet on this fight as Loma will prepare hard for this fight as this is the biggest for him because a win is a career record, a unified title.

Yes, this is what we all have been expecting because both are under Arum and it seems that both are also satisfied on how Arum has brought them to the limelight and in their careers in boxing. So for now it's a win-win for us because there is no stumbling block whatsoever, unlike other megafight that supposed to happened but now in limbo (Crawford-Spence).

Boxers are good in their last fight, so Loma seems to be out of tune against a young Ortiz, but for sure he has shaken the cobwebs already and ring rust and is eager to comeback in the ring against Haney for all the belts in the line. And Haney looks great, so this is a going to be a chess match, we will see if Loma is still on his prime or not, or this is Haney's last fight at 135 lbs because he wanted to move up to 140 lbs already.

This is what makes this fight interesting both just come out great from their recent fights, I still consider Loma in his prime he is still fast and still can that

Loma thing
did it against Ortiz who is young and undefeated and no doubt Haney always in great shape, this is going to be a battle of technicians and the one that will come out the winner is the one with a better strategy.
