So definitely expect a late KO or TKO in case Loma wins this fight.

That's true, as Loma might have a difficult time beating Haney if he can't land any significant punches, given that Haney is a very quick and younger boxer with high stamina. However, Loma has already demonstrated great technique against Rigo, and we may see some of that in this fight since Rigo and Haney have a somewhat similar boxing style.

However, Loma has already demonstrated great technique against Rigo, and we may see some of that in this fight since Rigo and Haney have a somewhat similar boxing style.

Lomachenko is not an ordinary boxer, and I'm sure Haney has not faced a boxer like Lomachenko. Some might think that Lomachenko is already old, but that could be true. Nevertheless, he is still fighting and has won his previous fights, so Haney should respect Lomachenko's boxing skills. Otherwise, he might be surprised to find that he is no longer undefeated.

We really can't underestimate Loma just based on his last performance against Ortiz. And to be fair with Ortiz, he praises the kid, meaning he acknowledge that he might be a good boxer that's why he really can't take off that fight and see the usual techniques of him, just darting it and out and confuse his opponent and then he touch them with power punch. And this is no excuse, but I guess we all know that at the back of his mind, the war is still on-going in his native Ukraine.

But I think in this fight it will be different Loma, an upgraded version of him because he simply wants to become a champion and whoever is in front of us, he has to do his best and win even if it is against a young and undefeated boxer in Haney.

A boxer can be different against different opponents, as they create a strategy and adjust based on their opponent's style. Lomachenko is a great boxer and was very popular, but unfortunately he lost to Lopez due to an injury. This time there should be no excuses as he is 100% healthy and will be facing a 100% fighter.

Lomachenko can express out loud anything he desires that he is an overhauled upgraded of him when he faces Haney in the squared ring. He is free to train as much as he likes. But the question remains whether his body is ready for it. He will do his best, but is what he does now better than what he did in the past? He is not any quicker than he was several years ago, in my opinion. The genuine test here is to Devin Haney. Is it attainable for him to prevail in his match with Lomachenko and continue his journey toward greatness?

His not known to have face hands though, he is very technical on how he dismantles his opponent, and that is his trademark.

And for the argument that he is old and no longer in his prime based on his last fight with Ortiz and he is 35 years old?

How about Terrence Crawford who is also 35 years old and people saying that he is in his prime and going to beat Spence? So that age argument doesn't make sense. Maybe we can throw that into the equation, but in the end, it's still the skills that will win the fight or lose one.

I'm not going to rule the age as a basis but I'm going to base Loma's recent fights, we can clearly see that he wasn't the same Loma we've know anymore and even if we say that he was just adjusting at that time and had a ring rust, that is still debatable because Loma wasn't away for a year and there's no difference to the other boxers who are fighting once per year. I agree that Devin Haney will be an acid test to Lomachenko.

Can't compare to the 35 years old Crawford and 35 years old Loma, one has remained strong and tough and the other one has changed, not for the better though.

I had watched Mayweather's fights, and like you said, he's boring to watch as hell. Like he is more defensive than offensive. You don't see him throwing punches more often, but he is waiting for his opponent to lose his patience, throw punches, and slowly countering him until such time that he can knocked that opponent down.

On the other hand, it's boring, but that made him undefeated in professional boxing (disregard those troll fights where he will fight celebrities). Even the 8-time division champion Pacquiao lost against him (controversial though). How "Tank" Davis fights in the ring is way better than Mayweather even though he mentored him for almost a decade now. Davis got the defensive skills of Mayweather, but at the same time, he's an explosive fighter and throws a lot more, and stronger punches.

Haney and Mayweather's way of fighting is almost the same that's why the fight between Haney and Kambosos Jr. (first fight) became one of the most boring fights I've ever watched to the point that I slept while watching the fight.
In particular, I don't like this when they fight in a technical way, it makes me annoyed, because I see that they don't want to hurt each other and although the fight falls into a purely technical and intelligence sphere, I don't like it, and that makes it look boring, and obviously it is, when I establish a type of analogy with boxing in the Olympics that happens, and it is something that bothers me, I don't know if you Remember the case of the Japanese? that they gave him as the winner and he came out in wheelchairs while the opponent was normal, with normal tiredness but he was much better and for me he fought well, that's what I don't like, and that's how there are boxers.

Many people call Loma a technical fighter, but is he boring? The answer is a big NO. Loma has been entertaining to watch as he slowly dismantles his opponents. He may not be a good starter, but you can see how good he is once he spots the weakness of his opponents. Sometimes, he can even win via knockout. So, against Haney, I wouldn't be surprised if he wins by KO.

He is not boring, he has wins wherein he knockout his opponent, so I don't see that as boring. And his technical are a must watch for boxing fans, he completely dismantles his opponents not just physically, but mentally as well that's why he was called No Mas Chenko because his opponent are quitting because they can't cope up with his technique.

On the other hand, Haney is being compared to Floyd and that's why he is said to be boring. But then again, he plays defense and counter and just why others doesn't want that style or there could be fans that can appreciate that.

We cannot make that judgment now. Let's just wait for the outcome of the fight as this will be the biggest test of Lomachenko. Some boxers have struggled, but they always improve by correcting their mistakes. Lomachenko may not be as quick as he was before, but his confidence is still there, as he has been winning fights already after the Lopez loss.

He didn't say that it was his excuse though against Lopez, he just admitted that he had that injury prior to the fight and didn't tell the public about it. Maybe he doesn't want the fight to be cancelled and the blame on him or he thinks that he can beat Lopez that time.

Regardless, he has move on and recovered already and make a huge comeback and now fighting for the belt.

For sure he will have his strategy and have game plan against Haney. But I do think that he will adjust on the fly and see what Devin can offer him, in short it might be a chess match in the beginning as both of this fighters have high level IQ.

That's a possibility, but we shouldn't hope it stays that way until the end of the fight. A chess match fight could result in a boring performance from both fighters. If one doesn't take the risk of attacking, then it won't be entertaining to watch. The only way boxing is entertaining is when both fighters are aggressive, or the aggressor is winning the fight.

I think Loma should initiate the contact or the fight here, the judges are not going to favor him in close rounds, because Devin Haney has the belt. So it could be a chess match, but Loma being the aggressor and really try to see what Haney is going to do.

Maybe some feints to see what will be the reaction of Haney and then uses his strategy and his style of Hi-Tech that we all know off.

But for sure, not easy fight for either and for us fight fans, I don't think we will see this fight as boring, we might as well enjoy when we can.

Well, everything is possible in this fight as they are both technical enough to have a slow start or even a slow fight and talking about some possibilities, just like Loma's chances, Haney might not be much of an entertaining boxer to watch but he always get what he wanted in every given fight as he slowly tears his opponent down. In other words, this will be interesting to watch as both of them excels in their own technical ways.

The problem is that Haney is too huge for Loma.  And Haney's defensive tactics might be effective against Loma.  The difference in reach might dictate how the fight will go.  Haney having 14 cm. reach advantage plus his defensive stance may keep Loma at bay which may prevent Loma from exercising his strategy.  Aside from that Loma isn't that young anymore and his latest performance isn't that impressive too.

Despite the disadvantage, I still look forward Loma to winning the match.  Who knows we might see the best of Lomachenco in this fight.

Who knows, maybe most people are mistaken about the advantage they see in Haney for this fight. Loma has been a warrior and has never lost a fight where he was clearly dominated. He's here to prove that, despite his age, he's not out of his prime yet and still has what it takes to win.

So Loma being an underdog in this fight should be seen as an opportunity as we might not be able to see this kind of odds again.

Based on his last performance, we might say that he is out of his prime already. But he is a great fighter, so maybe he still have something, maybe he can go back and bring his former self and win against a young fighter and the champion in Haney, so yeah we will see.

What separates Loma though from the rest of the boxers is his training method which is very different from the trainings that we used to know. And most likely the reason why he has able to stay on up. Just one blemish is that his lost to Lopez (although he has earlier lost to Salido), but we know that he was injured that time. So we still can't discount that he is still that great, he just needed a opponent that will bring the best out of him.

While I agree on your statement, I hope you didn't forget that Lomachenko isn't an undefeated boxer as he already experienced two defeats in his career. First was against Orlando Salido on a vacated WBO belt at 126 and then second was against Teofimo Lopez that resulted into a loss of 3 unified belts at 135.

Anyway, I also believe that Loma's career is not yet done and we might see a surprising act where he will show to us again the performance of a healthy Lomachenko.

Yes, although he has age alot, Loma is not yet done in boxing, after his surgery on his shoulder and after that defeat from Lopez, he bounce back and still show his skills against Nakatani and Richard Comney, so he still has a lot of gas in his tank. I think the problem with Loma on his last fight might be lack of preparation or his mental state is not that stable because he is still thinking about the war in his native country.

And I think that will be the biggest factor for Loma here, he should be focus 100% of the fight and not get distracted on what his going on behind. I know it's hard to do that, but if Usyk can overcome that, I think Loma too and just concentrate on this fight because this is the biggest for him as he wanted to be a unified champion.
