The problem is that Brazil have a reputation to uphold as the world know them for their beautiful style of football and productivity of world class players but of recent that Brazil national is filled with merely guys that can't make an impact in terms of making things happen and this led Ronaldinho to say that this actually Brazil squad is one of if not even the worst ever as the player no longer have that Brazilian love and zeal for football and instead play for just money and other things.

In my opinion this a generalized problem because not only Brazilian players are not as good they used to be, it happens with many other teams: 20 years ago we had strikers like Ronaldo, Batistuta, Vieri, Henry, Klose, Raul, etc, now I don't see that type of quality. Sure, we have Vinicius, Alvarez, Mbappé, Haaland, but for me they are not the same. Many of today's international players are just very average. The good thing is that other international teams improved a lot, especially some Asian teams but at the same time others got worse, for example Nigeria, Ghana, Mexico, Camerun, they all used to have so many good players...

I think this generation of Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo shifted the focus away from the classic center forward, players like Romário, Batistuta, and many others. Team formations started prioritizing wingers, trying to replicate clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid, which were built around the stars of this generation. A similar thing happened in the past with the Brazilian national team that won the 2002 World Cup,after that, many teams began copying that tactical setup. Nowadays, that kind of system doesn’t really favor a traditional center forward, like you’d see in a typical 4-4-2 or 3-5-2.

The CBF surely is part of the problem but let's also take a look at the players, how bad are they compared to the past? I was looking at the team that lost 4-1 against Argentina, the right back was Wesley Franca, they used to have Cafù, Maicon and Dani Alves for example. The left back? Guilherme Arana, before there were guys like Roberto Carlos and Marcelo. Midfielders? Joelinton and André, they both play in the Premier League but 15 years ago they wouldn't be called even for a friendly match. And what about the strikers? Rodrygo, Cunha, Raphinha and Vinicius: Raphinha is probably playing his best season ever, Rodrygo and Vinicius if we put them together they have 72 caps and scored 13 goals, how bad is that?

Cricket is only popular in 4-5 countries in South Asia. It is somewhat popular in the middle-east as well, but is almost solely being played by the expats. Native Arabs hardly ever play cricket (although Kuwait managed to send a team to the cricket competition at the 2014 Asian Games). I would say that in almost 90% of the Asian countries (including China) football is the most popular sport. But Asians in general are short and not very athletic, and this explains their poor performance in international soccer.

What you say about living off past reflections make total sense. On that last match Brazil played against Argentina and lost by 4 x 1, I remember watching Vini Jr. telling an argentinian player that they won 5 world cups, as if it made the fiasco on that game more acceptable for brazilian players.

However, in which world cup Vini Jr. or any other current brazilian player played and won? The team is boasting a status they don't deserve and never actually had. All the merits of brazilian national team remains over the previous generations of soccer players.

That is why sometimes it's better to say nothing. I agree that playing in La Paz is an absurd challenge! After all, 4,150 meters above sea level is no joke. FIFA even tried to ban games in such high places in the past, but Bolivia managed to keep Hernando Siles because it is a symbol for them... like a "postcard" of their football...

But thinking about it, these difficulties also help the South American teams, right? Going from the altitude of La Paz to the heat of Barranquilla in just a few days requires a monstrous physical and mental preparation, which may even be one of the reasons why we see CONMEBOL teams getting further in World Cups lately.

But I also agree that there needs to be a limit because the players are not machines and the intention here is to strengthen the local teams and not give them an unfair advantage over the visitors! Pretty bad to see this develop in the Brazilian federation, when one guy starts to live in that position and worst when he also make dumb or bad decisions. As far as i see all his movements regarding the national team were pretty bad, with national coaches who not were at the altitude of a team like Brazil.

No that is not how this will play out. I can't have an opinion on what is going to happen in 100 years or 150 years from now, but in the foreseeable future Asian football won't challenge the top teams from South America and Europe.

Even if we assume that the Asian region improves their facilities and raises greater players than they do now, what would happen is that the best clubs from Europe would sign them. What incentive would strong Asian talents have to risk their career staying in Asia hoping that it is going to be the next big thing.

Look at the overwhelming population in terms of quantity and yet their participation in European football in terms of the number of players is negligible. Heung-min Son is called an Asian exception for a reason because there aren't many. I don't know why suddenly there should be dozens of him in the major Asian nations building globally competitive football teams.

Exactly this. The tragedy here is not just Rodrigues received 100% of the vote but also how he obtained it: he locked down the state federations with over 300% pay increases. It’s political machinery. The whole framework of the CBF is a fortitude meant to oppose change.
