Will we see another surprise today? For example in the Netherlands vs Japan match? Honestly I can't underestimate Japan and I predict they will at least score a goal.

Japan's recent form is better than that of their opponent ^{[e.g., in the last six friendly games, they've won all (two of those were against Brazil and England)]} and to rub salt into the wound, the Netherlands is suffering from more injuries, so I expect either a draw ^{[over 2.5]} or another surprise win for Japan.

I think a surprise will happen for sure Japan is a really good team and i think both teams are even, Japan dosent have some big names but they are fast and good with the ball. It's very poor start for Turkey but it's a perfect match for Australia as in the other matches, Australian players will not have such high goal scoring ability. This match is simply a match for Australia so their players scored goals in most of chances they had. With Turkey and Montella, I don't know why they did not use Kenan Yildiz at the match start, because he is a very good attacking player.

If Yildiz had started in this match, Turkey would have had diversifying attacking power from both Arda Guller and Kenan Yildiz, then Australian players would have gotten more challenge and possibly made defensive mistakes.

With this bad start, Montella and Turkey will have next two stressful matches especially a next match. They will have to aim at winning a next match if they don't want to face with high risk of going home too early in this World Cup.

That's why they normally say football is absolutely ruthless. Turkey controlled the game entirely. They were pushing forward and created chances but Australia were very lucky with their deadly counterattack. The outcome of this match shocked the majority. Turkey need to beat Paraguay if not they'll be in serious problem. I normally underrate USA but seeing how they won their first match, I don't think they'll be a soft opponent for any team in that group. I commend Australia for this good start. They know how to play smart and safe and apply pressure at the right time. We were wrong for underestimating them. Australia made it to the round of sixteen in the last World Cup surviving against Denmark and Tunisia in the group stage. Maybe they can do it again this year.

I quite agree with you that Morocco is the best team in Africa for the time being but they aren't the African champions, because Senegal was the country that won the 2025/2026 African Cup of Nations tournament, even as Morocco aren't the African champions, I don't expect Brazil to comfortably win them because Brazil's performance has deteriorated they no longer perform like the Brazil that has five World Cup to their name, so I wasn't surprised they couldn't defeat Morocco in their first match of the 2026 World Cup final tournament.

Morocco is a great team. Brazil probably underestimated this team. Brazil's performance in this match surprised me a lot. From the beginning of the match we saw the dominance of the Moroccan players. Brazil should have dominated this match and won. But they could not create such a strong chance. I am sure the brazilian fans are also very upset. Brazil is considered one of the contenders for this world cup. But with such a performance they will  not be able to reach the semi-finals. Turkey still have a good chance, and i don't think this defeat will affect their overall objective. I agree with you, i think they underestimated their opponent and it ended up backfiring on them. There's nothing special about them, because they've been playing for the Brazilian national team for quite some time as partners, even though they're sworn enemies in La Liga. They're both professionals and know not to bring their club rivalries to the national team. Vini and Raphinha play for their countries, so there's no reason not to work together.
Btw, I bet on Morocco to win and was happy when they scored, but unfortunately Vinicius equalized.

Morocco played well, and we mustn’t forget that Morocco was a semifinalist in the previous World Cup. This draw has created a fierce competition in this group to advance, as the door is still open. Morocco performed very well and better than any prediction because they did not call many players who were their main players in World Cup 2022. Like a 18-year old midfielder Bouaddi, who could predict that he can play too well like he did against Brazilian midfielders. In contrast, Brazil with their tradition and a lot of expectation of winning a World Cup trophy, actually under performed and created a lot of disappointment for their fans.

At least eventually Brazilian players managed to avoid a defeat but it came from a magnificent goal from Vinicius Junior. Almost no goalkeeper can make a save with that too powerful and accurate shot, especially it was made in a very close distance.

The fifa world Cup is definitely not a place or tournament where players will want to bring their club issues or rivalries into, fifa has strict rules that must be obeyed and followed by all players who want to maintain a good record with their clubs, because if any player comes misbehaving and gets sanctioned by fifa, don't be surprised that such a player might even end up losing their position on the club they feel gives them power, because for as much as I know, fifa is way more respected than any of this football clubs in and around the world.

And for the Morocco and Brazil game, I was going to bet on Morocco to win that match but upon seeing the odd on Brazil, I doubted Morocco would have any chance, I didn't bet any more but decided to simply watch the match, and I am happy that the game ended in a draw instead  Brazil winning.

Football is well-loved and fascinating globally, not just by the youth but also by the elderly. It is one of the oldest sports that has gained global attention.

Honestly, I don't know the issue with Brazil; I guess that are just being unlucky sometimes, but sometimes too, overwhelmed by better teams. Though the Brazil we used to know has gone, yet these guys there now could still perform better than what we recently know them for in tournaments.

Notwithstanding, the last friendlies shows some significant improvement in the squad, so it's proper to say they are to be watch out for as well. But for me, even if they reach higher stages, they will surely still have Spain and France to contend with.

The Netherlands are considered the favorites for the upcoming match by the bookmakers, as their squad is packed with high-level players featuring for leading European clubs. However, I wouldn't underestimate Japan. They have made significant progress in recent years, and with their roster full of players from Europe's top leagues, the Asian side is definitely not to be taken lightly. On top of that, they come into this on the back of a six-match winning streak in friendlies, keeping five clean sheets along the way.
I expect a tight, hard-fought match with chances for both teams. It's tough to separate them, so a draw is highly likely.

I think Spain and France are the favorites right now. But looking at Morocco's performance against Brazil, we can say they played well. Morocco might even become the group winner in this stage. But the points could still be very close with Brazil. 
Aside from all that, honestly, I hope for better play from Brazil.

What surprised me even more was how Switzerland let the win slip away in stoppage time, that is truly frustrating.

Switzerland was extremely unlucky due to their poor defense which failed to shore up the back line in the final minutes by forcing them to settle for a draw against Qatar. If Switzerland hadn’t lost focus at the back they should have been able to anticipate the attack that led to the goal. The Swiss national team actually dominated the match. And they actually controlled a much higher percentage of ball possession than Qatar. Swiss national team also had many big chances through the numerous threats they created. But their attacking line seemed unable to capitalize on those opportunities to score a goal. The one goal they scored came from a penalty kick converted by Embolo. I personally think the Swiss national team needs to rethink their strategy to make their attack more effective as it currently seems suboptimal. They need to recognize some of their shortcomings in that match so they don’t put in another disappointing performance.
