Ronaldo and Mendes puts their team in firm control compared to their first match against DR Congo last week. Ronaldo joins Messi in scoring in 6 consecutive world cup editions. These 2 players have made the game look as if it's easy but when they will retire, we will definitely miss them both. I'm currently watching the game and for a moment Uzbekistan scored but according to the replay that was a foul and the goal is chopped off but in my opinion, I would have preferred the referee to allow the goal, the ball was passed to Cancelo and he put himself in that position to be charged. In my biased opinion, I would have loved that goal to stand so that Portugal will be more serious, lol.

Edit - I forgot that Messi didn't score any goal in 2010 world cup, so basically, it's only Ronaldo that has scored in 6 world cups.

Honestly, I'm not confident enough to pick a winner yet. Every World Cup looks predictable before it starts, and then something unexpected happens. Argentina, Brazil, France and Spain all look strong, but injuries, form and a bit of luck can change everything.

It is fair to say that Argentina is playing really well and so is France, from what we have seen so far.

When it comes to Brazil, their first match was disappointing and if they can change things around completely like Spain did in their next match, I will change my opinion. I would also add England to this list as favorites.

Portugal still have a very good chance of advancing from the group and even from first place. they definitely need to beat Uzbekistan today and preferably with a good goal difference. Messi is a superb player and his performance in the ongoing world cup tournament continue to clear any doubts. Messi is a valuable player that is always instrumental in any game he plays in. He's a player that can be heavily relied upon and despite the defense of the opposing side knowing just how dangerous he can be, it still doesn't hinder him from making an impact in the game. His presence alone probably increases the morale of the team. That's how good he is.
While I  don't really like comparing him to Ronaldo as both players are amazing and play good football, Messi is a genius in the world of football.

Ronaldo really answered the critics with two goals in the first half and made a huge difference for Portugal. Portugal finally playing really well and are by a class better then Uzbekistan and i think they will score 2-3 more goals at least if they keep attacking like this. Uzbekistan will surely lose so they will be eliminated and Portugal with this win will reach the knockout rounds so this win pushes them one step closer to their goal.

The first early goal he scored definitely has taken off a lot of pressure from his shoulders, this Portugal side is actually a good side if they can put their minds down and play as a team. I was hoping for the same thing. And that hope finally came true. Portugal played to their full potential in this match. And I’m glad Cristiano Ronaldo managed to score two truly impressive goals in the end at this World Cup. Bruno Fernandes’ assist was also incredible. He really is a player who shines when placed in the right position.
And it seems that whenever João Félix is brought in early, the team always has better luck. Even though Félix didn’t record an assist, his presence seemed to throw the opponent’s defense off a bit. This kid really should be played more often. He often brings good luck to the team and to CR7 as well.

That year was Messi uninteresting year in the world Cup for playing all the Argentina match and not seeing any goal to call his own. However Portugal has done something nice on this second match, Ronaldo was too silent on the first match but today Uzbekistan is hearing from him, two goals is from Ronaldo and Mendes with his one goal so Portugal was on three goals for the first half, so what I want to see is if Ronaldo will become among those with three goals in one match as Messi so that they would have the same hard trick, is possible for him because this is the beginning of there second half.
