Well this World Cup has already proven that the inclusion of weaker football nations has added value in my opinion. I am not a fan of defensive football at all, but it is not only defensive. In some games these smaller teams have had their chances for the lucky punch and it is also a good test to see how troublesome it can be to score against them. Teams like Cape Verde know they can't win in the usual way, but if they give big nations like Spain a hard fight, they can still finish with a draw and if luck is on their side, maybe score a lucky shot from outside the box or anything else like that.

Yea, the battle is tensed there, unlike some groups where the scores are already settled, and we already know those who have gone ahead to the next stage and those likely to go home from there.
