Brazil, the clear favorite, won the match against Scotland very comfortably. I never would have thought before the game that Scotland would look so bad and disorganized. They were struggling so much just to get out of their own half that if Brazil had applied more pressure, it’s very likely we would have seen 6 or 7 goals in this match.

I would have expected South Korea to at least secure a draw in this match, but they couldn’t even manage that. I was shocked when I woke up this morning and checked the score to find out South Africa actually defeated South Korea. South Africa lost their first match in the opening game, drew their second and was at the verge of elimination. South Korea won their first match which was almost certain that they will qualify because a draw in this group was enough for them but they lost to Mexico. Not withstanding, this match was a match that a win wasn't so necessary, a draw will see them qualify at the least. They lost which automatically meant South will qualify. Football is really unpredictable, South Africa were written off after the two games but this last game they brought and kept them in the competition for the next stay.

Even the small nations that you think should be doing terrible, have players in big clubs doing great things that you lack to see. All those smaller teams? in this group all four teams were roughly equal in strength and only Mexico stood out as the host team and this ultimately helped them confidently secure first place. yes, South Africa looked not very impressive in the first two matches but they managed to pull themselves together in the final round and win the crucial match. I don't think this is the last unexpected progress from the group that we'll see at this tournament. many more surprises await us.

Well I can’t say much yet about Brazil, for me I’m still yet to be impressed by time, they only real test they had in the group ended in a draw. I still don’t see any thing yet to be impressed with Brazil. They are top of the group and are tied with the same point as Morocco but are ahead in goal difference.

Well I don’t think Neymar really have much to offer Brazil in this tournament, he has been injury prone recently and now good coach will want to build a team around an injury player.

Nevertheless, his appearance will always cause a lot for the opponents, they will still be scared of him. He still has qualities but injuries and fitness won’t let him exhibit them in a top level game.

For now his minutes has to be monitored so he won’t get injured again, at least thorough out the world  cup.

I agree with you Vinícius is putting his best trying for the Brazilian team, but i think you're wrong by saying without him Brazil won't perform very well in this current world. My dear one thing you need to know is a tree can never make a forest okay, if he wasn't called to be among the Brazilian team the coach will still find someone who will replace him, Vinícius alone can not carry ball all by himself dribble 10 players from other countries team and score goal. This South Korea game was the one that even shocked me the most and this was because I actually expected them to win but opposite was the case as South Africa was able to hold them off and even outplay them because at the day the team with the winning goal is the one with all the credit.

Very soon the first round will be rounding off and we will see a whole of things change and the competition will get more tough and alot of teams will be knocked out in this stage and I just hope the African teams can hold up more than this round.
