We are waiting on the last 3 teams to take the remaining spots in the round of 16. Currently there is still a tie in the Australia-Egypt match.

I thought Australia might surprise us by a win. I can't say they have much of a goal expectation statistically but still they are able to keep their chance.

I expect Argentina and Colombia to win their matches in regular time as well.

Australia was a surprising team, managing to hold Egypt to a draw, I had previously predicted Egypt would win because they had a better striker than Australia, In reality, that wasn't the case, Egypt had difficulty breaking through Australia's defense, A penalty shootout is likely to determine the winner.

Other matches:
Argentina should win easily, unless the Cape Verde goalkeeper is on fire again, then Argentina won't score many goals.

Ghana looks set to put up a fight, although we know Colombia is the favorite, most people will bet on Colombia, as Ghana is known for its magic.

Salah isn’t in his prime no more and last season didn’t see some of his best so, I didn’t expect anything exceptional from him. Besides, being the best Egypt have got to offer, there would be a defense line build about him to ensure he underperforms.
Egypt had a good game though, them not being able to strengthen their lead with another goal made it a lot easier for Australia to get back in with a goal and get a draw. It would go into the penalties eventually and hope Egypt makes it out.

I’m not sure if Egypt will lose or not. But the Egyptian players are actually much more experienced and have slightly better quality than the Australian players. It’s just that when it comes to mental toughness in taking penalties, I’m not sure whether the Egyptian or Australian team has the edge.

The mentality is needed here and sometimes not all players will be able to cope with the pressure of 1 on 1.

The Cape Verde goalkeeper is the main player for Argentina to watch out on in this their game, if he’s in total form, it’ll be very hard for Argentina to penetrate through them. Argentina is the better team and anyhow they put a stumbling block to the net, Argentina will find a way to make it to the next round regardless.

Ghana looks set to put up a fight, although we know Colombia is the favorite, most people will bet on Colombia, as Ghana is known for its magic.

Ghana’s magic could come through here for them also but in reality, Colombia is the better team and has the more chances of making it further in this competition. Ghana hasn’t been that spectacular to me in this World Cup but they’ve conceded always manage to make it through, let’s see if they can this time around also.

Luckily for Egypt, they won 2:4 on penalty shootout. They're lucky that they won if not they would have been in pains because scoring that early goal and not being able to win at full-time was really a big flop for the Egyptians. African teams are not doing well in this round, if am not mistaken, none of them won a match at fulltime in this round of 32, even Morocco that first qualified for the round of 16 has to pass through a penalty shootout as well. Egypt will meet Argentina in the round of 16 because it is obvious that Argentina will win Cape Verde tonight so there is still problem ahead for Egypt.
