I guess there was a good reason France was a strong favourite before the game with odds of x1.25.
They are leading 2-0, and Morocco do not have much to say. France is clearly on a different level. Both Mbappe and Dambele added one goal each to their names.

Like it or not, I think France is objectively the strongest team in the bunch. Whoever they will play against in the semi-final, whether it will be Belgium or Spain, they will be the favourite.
But the beauty of football is that a team that's stronger on paper doesn't always win.

Anyhow, markets are pointing to France as having nearly 40% chances of winning the trophy. This of course will change where other quarter-fials are completed.

I never expected that Morocco will sit dip in this match and wait for chance to counter. I don't really like this tactics , they are just adding more pressure on themselves. They didn't play like this in 2022.  Even the counter attack they are waiting for isn't working. They are unable to create good chances in this first half. No shot on target. France are doing well, they are possessing and creating multiple chances. If they continue like , I am sure they find a possible way to score to Morocco. Mbappe missing that Penalty is shocking to me. I expected to hit the ball with force bearing in mind that Bono is good at catching penalties. I hope second half gets better.

if Morocco plays open football against France, they won't have a chance at all. In 2022 Morocco played more boldly because France was somewhat weaker. I think Morocco's only hope now is to hold out until penalties. although France probably understands this too and will try to settle the matter in regular time. especially since they have chances and create them very well.

Now they are 2-0 down still without any chances created. I am very sure that the Morocco coach will tell them to come out and play proper football. Some coach needs to be chained seriously, I see Morocco as team that can play against any top team in the world and can even get a win. Hadn't been the decided to play good football, they would have created multiple chances and probably scored France.

What a wonderful goal from Mbappe and Dembele, it was a beautiful strike. I didn't even expect mbappe to shoot that ball from that angle. Dembele just ran through the defense and shot the ball to the net, without the Moroccan players defending it.

They say there are no weak teams at this stage of the World Cup. So I guess it's fair to say Morocco is simply having a very bad day today. Unfortunately, Morocco didn't have a single shot on target. The French goalkeeper didn't make a single save. They could have played without a goalkeeper today. Morocco can't threaten France at all. It's a pity they play so bad.

Bounou is actually not too bad but the Moroccan defense is not that good to create a defensive scheme that makes him concede 2 goals in this match.

Morocco tried too hard for a draw by playing defensively in the hope they could get a good result in the penalty shootout but the French game was too fast for them to match just because of the focus on their defense.  On the other hand Mbappe failed to score in the penalty but he gave the answer by not repeating the mistake in the first half because with 1 goal the flow of the French ball was much more alive.

At the moment the situation is not favorable for Morocco but I do not feel too surprised by it because it looks quite normal because France is clearly far superior in all aspects.

Morocco just didnt want to attack,they were thinking they can try and keep the ball and defend the entire match but that didnt happen. In first half they got really lucky that they didnt concede a goal,but in the second half they couldnt holdout and Mbappe and Dembele just destroyed them with those goals and it was all over,it was just a question if there was gonna be more then 2. France is a good enough team, they played the final match in the last World Cup, but unfortunately they lost to Argentina on penalties. This time too, France has a chance to play the final match. France can play Spain in the semi-finals. Because Spain has a high chance of winning the match between Spain and Belgium. And France has a high chance of winning against Spain. On the other hand, even if Argentina wins against Switzerland, they will face Norway or England later, where it will be very difficult for Argentina to win. So it seems that this time the final match could be between France and England or France and Argentina.

Morocco didn't show anything today although they can be partly understood because playing against such a strong French team is very difficult. it's noteworthy that the final score was the same as in 2022 only then Morocco had more chances to score than today.

I can't quite decide whether Mbappé is following in Messi's footsteps or simply imitating him in every respect.
In the previous match, Messi missed a penalty but finished the game with a goal and an assist.
Mbappé experienced the exact same thing in this match.
Throughout the tournament, Messi scored 8 goals and missed 2 penalties.
The situation is the same for Mbappé.

The result of this match was identical to the scoreline from 2022.
If we are to experience déjà vu, the final will be France versus Argentina.

That was a really horrible penalty by Mbappe. I didn't have any doubt on him to score before he took it to be honest. But I just can't overlook Bono's great goalkeeping performance of course.

He has been making critical saves for Morocco and playing a big role in keeping them in the World Cup. I still don't think France would be eliminated in this round. But it might be that easy in the second half either.

He’s probably trying to avoid penalty goals just like Messi maybe   but I really doubt it , Mbappe loves  pen. Goals  .

The keeper tried truly with his saves but he eventually fumbled at the end.. All Morocco players were  average today, they were only able to possess.. breaking through France defence  was so difficult for them, and that literally awarded only few shots.

Sad to watch the last African nation leave the tournament.. we need at least one world cup

Worst match of this world cup so far. Where was the Morocco which played the previous games? It definitely wasn't the same team. They offered zero risk to France along the entire match. A very disappointing performance after everything they did on this world cup edition.

As usual, France remains as the last participant African national team on world cup, although if they win, it doesn't count as a winning for Africans. Pathetic...

France found the breakthrough in the second half and secured a 2–0 victory to book their place in the semifinals.
It was a comfortable win for France. They couldn't find the net in the first half, but once they scored after the break, they quickly added another goal to put the match beyond doubt.
In my opinion, Manu Koné was France's best player. Ousmane Dembélé was incredibly quick throughout the match and Kylian Mbappé also delivered another excellent performance.
France will now wait to find out their semifinal opponent, but I think they are now very close to reaching the World Cup final.

In today's match,Morocco could not compete with France, especially although Morocco had more ball possession than France but the number of attacks was much higher for France, especially France attacked 22 times while Morocco attacked only five times. While France attacked the target 9 times,Morocco attacked only once, which means that it can be said that Morocco could not compete in today's match. However, Morocco managed to play until the quarter finals, which is a lot of power for me and Morocco was defeated because the opponent was strong France.
