It would only make sense if they were making money out of it in some manner, I don't see them making money directly about these Argentina directly, unless there are high ranking FIFA staffers involved with the betting market in some way.

Perhaps, they realize the could sell more merchandise or get some favors by administration of some bookies by helping Argentina to get as far as possible, so the administration of those bookies can make a lot of money on their own market. One thing I've always known and always try as much as possible to come to terms with is the fact that there is no where corruption doesn't exists so long as its humans who are heading the affairs in such a place, there is no firm, not platform, no group, no administration or whatever, that doesn't have corrupt individuals who will always greedily put theirselve first before anything else, believe like this helps to not be overly surprised when the unusual is seen to be happening anywhere, in any place or any tournament as we are currently seeing in the world Cup.

That has been obvious since the previous administration was caught red-handed with corruption cases which involved selling votes in order for certain countries to the hosts for the World Cup, that was the case of South Africa, Russia and Qatar.

It is not a secret they are after money, the world cup itself is just a profitable big business for them, we just need to wonder how far within illegalities they are willing to go in order to pocket even more money than their huge FIFA salaries can get them.

I agree with you, as long as there are human beings involved, there is a chance for the system to be corrupted, we just tolerate some level of corruption and normalize it. Hopefully, what we seeing during this world cup does not get normalized in the future of Football.

There is a huge money making circle involved here that influences those involved with FIFA. There is massive public support for the big teams and a psychological competition is created between those teams which directly affects the product market and casinos where billions of dollars of business are involved. FIFA is blamed for questioning the Argentina-Egypt match and this is doubtful because scoring 3 goals after 78 minutes of the match will be a superhuman event for Argentina and will be a witness to the pages of history.

People involved with FIFA do business with big and popular teams and the income of this organization is high because FIFA is directly involved in the policies that promote the products of famous and expensive companies in the world. This is not just World Cup football, it is the feelings of millions of people with which the marketing and business of many companies' products is involved and if the big teams are excluded, the attraction to this tournament will decrease, so FIFA works for some popular teams which I did not believe before but I believe now.

I have literally seen a lot of people implying there is some kind of preference for Argentina by the FIFA, hence the hate against both Argentina and the management of the FIFA.
I did not mean to imply all Ronaldo Fans were campaigning negatively against Argentina, but certainly some of them are, perhaps instead of Ronaldo fans, they are just haters towards Messi. It would be more appropriate to call them like that.

Sure, I can understand all the disappointment coming from the people of Egypt, specially since this is not the first instance of Argentina seemingly getting a special treatment by referees during this world cup.

But it is clear as day that they keep getting away with many mistakes and it's always Argentina. I know there are many other mistakes from other teams, but the biggest mistakes in the biggest moments is with Argentina and in a way they can change the game and win. Football changed a lot recent years from water breaks, more substitutions in each match, increasing from 3 substitutions to 5 substitutions, and the use of VAR. Many things changed and I really don't like them and I remember that time breaks for cooling down, water drinking was firstly applied in World Cup 2014 in Brazil. The reason for that is temperatures there were very high during that tournament and I agree with that but if in other situations, if temperatures are not too high, water breaks are not actually necessary but can change the match a lot.

A team that are attacking, controlling the match and creating a lot of pressure on opponent will lose effects that possibly force their opponent making mistakes in defense, then after water break they will have to almost restart from scratch.

Yes, I also didn't expect Morocco to lose so easily to Francis. Because at first, I was really sure that Morocco had great potential to win when facing Francis. But it turned out all those assumptions were wrong and Morocco was actually made to move. So that's why I think it's right now to say that Francis is a very strong candidate to be able to enter the final round and possibly win it.

Because basically they have a really great and solid team, so I think currently the other teams that are currently surviving, probably only a small part can match Francis. Even Spain, I think it will definitely have a hard time if they face Francis. What is wrong in that? What else the broadcasters should do? Show the players while they take drinks? In cricket, we have advertisement breaks every 4-5 minutes and no one complains about it. Like any other sports body, FIFA also need to generate profits, so that they can organize tournaments such as this one. They need money for grass-roots development as well. Each of the participating teams in this tournament gets a fee of $12.5 million each (that is the minimum amount, and includes a $10 million participation fee and another $2.5 million in preparation expenses).

I'm assuming the "other players" you're referring to that scores with penalty is Messi since you mentioned Argentina right? Maybe I'm wrong, but if it's Messi you're referring to, then you're completely wrong. Messi has the record of the most penalty miss in the world cup. They both have played 2 penalties each, Messi missed both while Mbappe missed one and scored one. So when talking about the "other players" scoring with penalties, Mbappe should be among too.

I'd predicted that the highest the African countries could go is either the quarter or semi-final, and that Morocco is the only African country that could get there even if others would try. This has played out, as they would not be able to do more than their capabilities. Europe owns the world's football, and that might not change any time soon, as it's in their blood. It was more or less like these guys were just tired of the whole competition and wanted to go home. They did not want to continue again so decided to just give out their chances like we saw.
