I have seen Argentinians getting very cocky on Twitter/X. It makes me wonder whether they will actually be able to pull all this off and take the world cup again home...

I have some family in argentina, and it seems all the nation is looking forward to what could happen...
I remember that during the last world cup, when Argentina actually managed to become champions of the world, the world country almost paralyzed because of the amount of people who got to celebrate the night before, a lot of people had to work with a very serious hangover.

England will be a massive test for them, but that doesn't mean Argentina won't be able to show their grit against them as well.

Swiss were better in this game and were attacking all the time and i think they deserved to win it. That second yellow card for me is crazy and i dont understand how var can looking into yellow card because its against the rules. Fifa keeps on pushing Argentina to the final or maybe to win. Argentina is the defending champion, and they are having good performance, but still the media is creating some strange things about them or trying to relate them to a few things that are pointing out this World Cup is all set to give them easily. It's surely not happening they are playing well.

The way Switzerland was playing against Argentina today was really crazy, even when Argentina was winning 1 null I had this feeling and sense that Switzerland will equalized the game and may even likely win Argentina because of how their pattern of game was and they equalized the game around late 60 minutes to 70 minutes and I think if not for the Red card Argentina would not have been able to win because the morale of Switzerland was low after the 90 minute of the game and I would like to watch defending champions in the finals if possible.

Now I can see that you are part of the problem we are facing in this 2026 world cup. If you can tell me that the decision of the referee is final without checking the errors they have made since the beginning of this competition, then it shows that you are supporting the injustice that have been happening. i’m sure that if argentina had experienced that play where the ball hit the camera and the subsequent goal in their own match, we’d have been forced to debate it for days on end. once the match is over, no one has a chance to change anything, and debating it here doesn’t do anyone any good.

Switzerland is an easy group huh? Forget that FIFA ranking because in this world cup we have seen how those that are ranked lowered beat the high opponent that they face. Don't you know that it was a matter of luck that Argentina use to escape loosing that match. If it was not because of the red card that Switzerland received, I don't think Argentina was going to eliminate Switzerland yesterday. It would likely have been Argentina that got eliminated.In the first half, Embolo received a red card. Before that, Switzerland was in control of the match. It was only after Embolo was sent off that Argentina had the chance to take control of the game and eventually won in extra time.Embolo was really very foolish to receive that red card. If people blame him, I will never go against it because what he did was very wrong. First instance can be a mistake which is normal, but when a mistake is centered mainly on one team then eye brows will be raised. We have seen players from other teams getting booked or even sent off for a particular foul but when it involves players from this very team it's been waved off, a potential red card was waved off and not even a yellow card. We have seen goals chopped off because of a foul committed in the build up to the goal. It's even funnier that in this very match, a goal was disallowed because of a foul that happened in the build up but when this same Argentina made same foul to the build of their goal, it stood instead of being chopped off as it happened minutes ago to the other team. When you analyse all these incidents, you wouldn't blame people talking about them being favoured by the football organisation body.

Argentina is one lucky team. Switzerland dominated the game until the extra time, where they lost. TBH, Switzerland lost that game when Breel Embolo faked the foul. That was pure diving. After some deliberation, I bet on a draw. This morning, it seemed like the right choice... But now I'm thinking, "Maybe this is just my cognitive bias? Maybe I just don't want Argentina to win the World Cup again? My brain craves spectacle, drama, a surprise winner, and a crying Messi?"

Maybe it’s your cognitive bias but, that’s should be a won bet. Both teams struggle to win games. Argentina struggled to win Egypt and did come from behind to do that following some contested referees decision while, England’s win was more of the same against Norway. The goal from Bellingham remains a contested one due to the scenario where the ball pulled out by the goalkeeper was obstructed by the over head wire and the result was the move that gave England their equalizer and subsequently won.

At this stage, it’s more about being cautious and that’s what would make the draw a very likely result.

The Spain vs France game is one game I really anticipate to watch, Spain have won their last 2 ties between the 2 teams but I think this time around France have a edge to win this game. France have the best team In this World Cup, they are strong favorites to win the World Cup, so for me I think they will be beating Spain to book their place in the final for the third time in a row.
