I was very lucky to see this post. There are several places near my home where BTC can be exchanged for US dollars. There were none last year. I think this is the process of the encryption industry that happened around me.

That's just a sign that Bitcoin is becoming more adopted into the society and we do hope the adoption rate continues to increase because it's surely going to affect the grow of Bitcoin ecosystem as a whole.
And if the growth continues to increase with experiencing any decline in a couple of years Bitcoin will become accepted globally and might even become popular than the Dollar.

I would love to see them being consistent in doing so. So far none of these members have followed up the threads to give us a statistic of how their business has progressed since accepting bitcoin, how they have managed the profit/loss of choosing a volatile currency as payment. All this is important information so other members can be encouraged to start doing the same on their end.

Choosing a stable coin is not a easy choice, USDT, BUSD, USDC are scary to me because I worry they may lose their peg.

Only if you want to keep it long term. But what's wrong with having it as another solution for those who don't own bitcoin, I guess you're still safe having payment options other than just bitcoin. On some of the services they also accept stablecoin and I think that will help their business reach those customers who don't own bitcoin. Anyway you might sell it soon or might be able to buy bitcoin with that stablecoin instead of depositing your fiat, but those are just a few of my thoughts.

I agree having more payment options will make your business more attractive, but given that your customer base is mostly women then it's likely that your acceleration of success on adoption will be a bit slow.

I need to know who is going to be responsible for the fee. Are you going to task the customers for them to pay for the fee or the fee is going to be deducted from your pay? Bitcoin acceptance is good and this will promote the use of Bitcoin to people that have never heard of it before. The market is down and volatility is reduced, so this is the best time to do this so that when the price of BTC increase you will be in profits.

I have been motivated by every person here who has in one way or another promoted bitcoin in their locality. This year, there’s been more bitcointalk members teaching bitcoin outside the forum and accepting bitcoin payment in their businesses. I’m happy I am ending the year trying something new and unique in my business.

We are a beauty, cosmetic and personal care shop ( pedicure and manicure, lashes extension, facials, micro blading) in Nigeria.

To be honest, I was hesitant to do this because I thought it wouldn’t work in my profession. But there’s no downside to trying, so I did. After browsing the internet for a good bitcoin sign, I settle for this one. The sign is on my Secretary/cashier’s desk next to the card that has my bank account details. Placing the two together was deliberate because I put a discount on bitcoin making payments in bitcoin cheaper to attract people. The only challenge I face right now is 99% of our customers are female, and most do not have any prior knowledge of bitcoin or cryptocurrency, the ones who do either heard about bitcoin from their partner or social media campaigns but they haven’t given it much thought. It’s popular among the male folk here, I am yet to have a customer pay in bitcoin but it’s good enough to start the conversation. I placed a 10% discount for those who pay in bitcoin and that I think that move prompt my clients to begin asking how they can do so. I’ve had clients ask me to explain to them how Bitcoin works which I am always glad to do. Even my neighbor is curious and is likely to join the crypto fam soon. Though I haven’t had a bitcoin sales, this new addition to my business has added value and a closeness to my relationship with my clients.

You gave me a full taste of freedom, the government of my region prohibits the use of any form of digital currency. For the government, the stability of the economic order is the most important thing, but for me, I can only trade digital currency on the exchange. Congratulations on your bold steps to accepting bitcoin as a means of payment for services rendered. I have long wanting this time to come whereby individuals and participants of this platform would start taking this step in accepting bitcoin for their services. If we all can do this within our reach in our various locality, I strongly believe it would spread like wide fire and however, it would also result to others around us  who have been rejecting this proposal to wanting to knowing more about bitcoin and as well accepting it for their service.
I see some people talking bad about these activities of bitcoin promotion and adoption, but forget that we all are in the same course and it takes bold steps to getting someone onboard this platform to accepting bitcoin. If only they have been able to talk to a single individual then they would know what it takes to talk sense into someone to showing them the opportunities a particular system offers.

I thank you for such a nice business idea. Hearing that you opened a beauty soap parlor in your country and introduced a bitcoin payment system there really increased the love for you and bitcoin. But even if your business doesn't receive any bitcoin payments temporarily, when every customer hears about bitcoin from here and knows its use, your business will become more attractive. Because most of the women come here and if you can make them know about Bitcoin well then your business will definitely be successful. If you can educate every person in bitcoin education then at some point you will get a lot of bitcoin payment here.

Yes it’s been a year, time flies. We didn’t do one last Christmas, we are planning something different that’s specific to helping school children with their education. Fantastic idea I love it. It’s always rush hour, my clients like noon appointments and we always seem to have our hands full literally. I really love the prepaid bookings idea. One of my clients came to the shop with  her girlfriend who is a p2p trader today. To cut the long story short, I have a new client who is willing to pay in bitcoins and has promised to introduce her circle as well.

That's cool, now she has that parlor. I really hope that there will be no problem with this along the way. Also, it is quite risky for me, since it not yet acceptable in my country and we have some issues about it but I just hope she will not have it. All in all, it only shows that if we try to take  a risk there's no impossible, be unique and clear in your plans and dreams.

Gradually the awareness of bitcoin is pushing and am happy that some people are beginning to adopt it in their different works of life. I love the fact the majority of forum members are helping in the spread of bitcoin to their locality in one way or the other. I would say that this is a good way to start since our major aim is to create awareness of crypto around the globe.

This forum is indeed the best place to spread awareness about using bitcoin and various other crypto platforms. There will be many people who start adopting bitcoin in their businesses. But it also depends on how their country treats adoption and provides related regulations on the use of bitcoins. In the eastern region of course it is an area that supports bitcoin, but in my country in Asia Indonesia, bitcoin can only be used as a commodity tool and nothing more.
Not expecting much from a legal means of payment with bitcoins, I just made a few investments and trades as that's all that's allowed.


Regarding the OP's adoption of his business, I just wanted to see how they accept bitcoins and what payment methods are used. Because so far I have never seen documentation of payments made. It should be if anyone starts paying with bitcoin then it should be documented from the beginning of the payment until the payment process is complete, it will prove that the small adoption in OP's business becomes an actual adoption in the acceptance of bitcoin.

Yeah, I did that whenever I travelled/worked in countries with hyperinflation long term (and I actually kinda did a few heh). It's not like I even really need the service a lot but it's nice to support local economies especially when you're embedded there for a while, kinda builds trust too.

Congratulations Princess of Africa,  I am glad to see that you have always had a constant drive towards bitcoin adoption and usage within your locality, as a person from some region like yours I quite understand how it feels to have an alternative payment system independent from the banks.
Just a quick question on whether your hair-dressing saloon is a registered business and it is, then how do you pay your tax on Bitcoin payments?
As you mentioned in a comment on this thread of how you are planning another charity program to take care of some school students, and I want to encourage you to keep up with the good job you and all the rest of the other guys who are involved in all these charity programs outside the forum and impacting your immediate community positively through the use and help of Bitcoin.

It was really great to see that some business owners tried to risk more and convince others that Bitcoin is not only an investment that is mostly known about it but also can be a form of currency that is meant to be. As OP bring to that situation accepting BTC for her shop it gives a huge impact on the market as well and gives the chance for crypto users to spend their BTC.

I like to see people try it, but for now, there are not that many successful attempts to do it.
Usually, when people try to do it in the US, it cuts off pretty fast.

This is one of the good decisions you made, and I congratulate you and it is also one of the things that spread the usages features of Bitcoin to any business that can use it. This is actually a good move. It may not be noticeable at the beginning but don't think about it as long as the important thing is that Bitcoin is one of your payment options at your beaty salon.

Do not understand how much if most of your customers are not yet aware of bitcoin, I am sure that the time will come when there will be some of them who will ask out of curiosity about bitcoin. And this will be the beginning for them to believe in Bitcoin at that would be depend on how will you going to explain to your customers about it.
