I've done something similar doing sports betting predictions based on opinions in groups, facebook, twitter, telegram or similar everything they analyze and predict is ridiculous and misleading, I consider their predictions regarding sports betting to be misleading and to the detriment of sports bettors.

Risking money for sports betting is very satisfying with good results and success for sports betting with self-analysis, I often do that with an average of 70% of my bets on straight sports and I succeed.
If you ask the reason for how to do it, of course the reason is commonly done by many sports bettors, in short, strong teams, players, field conditions, coaches and many others that can be analyzed so that the bets you place are successful.

I think I am both a lone and team sports bettor. I am a lone bettor when I have all the time to analyze, interpret and predict games. Sometimes I might be opportune to be free from work or family engagement which would give me all the time to carryout extensive study.
I don't believe that someone can be an expert in gambling because some games are unpredictable. But sometimes, when I don't have the privilege of conducting my research, I can rely on the predictions of few friends or some so-called skillful gamblers in my area. In some cases I might go to a gambling house and hear the analysis of some persons which might make me to accept their idea and stake based on their predictions.

You don't need to rely on others, but do not be too confident, still learn to listen at least hear people's opinion so you can put them under consideration to formulate your final decision for a bet.

If our expert in sports betting makes a mistake which can always happen, we all loose our bet and that can be dangerous. I will prefer a group where all our opinions are considered, before the wager on a game is made. Team effort, not the effort of one person duplicated by other team members.

What if I am not a member of any betting group but I still use some information provided by some individuals? That's obviously not my "own study and analysis" so does it still count as a lone bettor?

We also have some threads in here like the NBA betting and sometimes I follow other shared bets. That doesn't necessarily make them my leader so does that count as team bettor too?

I think with this you can be considered a lone bettor because you only used the information to either confirm what you have and probably made some adjustments to it. Even if you have used the prediction shared from someone, I think it doesn't make someone a team bettor. IMO I think op didn't really classify a team bettor very well because I think the world team means together and contributing to the success of the whole in different ways, large or small doesn't matter. So if someone is not contributing to analyse made on Facebook, twitter etc how does that now make such person a team bettor. I think from what I observe from my locality regarding betting, a team bettor are friends or people who always gather together to make predictions for each other or one another, suggesting games to wager on.

As a single sports bettor, I think it's more fun because we can get a lot of experience about the sport we play, to be honest, for example in football matches I often bet on that sport, I get a lot of insight by being a single bettor compared to bettors on behalf of the team and their insights provided by the team

Throughout my experience betting in sports betting, I always try to do research first even though I already know the team that will compete in general. however, there is something we need to know before making a bet. first of all, I will do an analysis of several teams that I will include in the betting list. there is some information that I need to know in the update, both from the absence of players, the strategy set by the two teams, home and away matches, everything is a reference for my personal considerations.

I am not affiliated with any betting community, be it Facebook group, telegram or anything except, in our own community, which is bitcointalk.  so, you can say that I am a single bettor. but it is possible, that we also often have discussions in our community. there are many of our members here who are quite reliable when it comes to predictions, one can consider it by comparing the analysis. then, you can make a bet.

by the way, if you are a serious gambler for sports betting especially football. single bet, is the most ideal option to get profit with a higher probability of winning than other options such as parlay and others.

I prefer betting based on my own analysis since I only place bets on sports and teams I know well about. It's good to have discussions and consider others' opinions or analyses about sports betting, but I would rather place a bet based on my own analysis than trust my bet based on others' opinions. I think it's fun and exciting that way.

I am not sure if this can be considered as a lone bettor but I think what defines lone bettor more is when you solo flight or go on your own, either if it's about the capital or knowledge in betting but as you said, there is nothing wrong if you need a helping hand from others. I even think that it's more fun and helps you socialize with other people.

Another advantage of being in a team is that it can allow you to win bigger. You guys can also wager more this way and if you fall on the top spots you will get another prize for it. If there are people who like to have a company there are also people who like to solo. These people will stick only on the games that they are more familiar with.

Sometimes those group bettors or community are not that accurate and can give wrong result,moreover it is sport the possible outcome is not based on whoever predicted, sometimes it is based on luck. For a solid amount of time I think I've been a lone sports bettor. I did not rely on any form of call or signal group and all my bets are made solely by yours truly. I experienced acceptable success through that, but when I got introduced to signal channela and groups it made all the difference. I find that collaborative efforts and insight allowed me to make more intelligent predictions I would otherwise wouldn't have done if I am the only one thinking for my bets. At the end of the day it's to each their own because of course, it's your money your rules. Until you agree with what they suggest. Everything will be a suggestion cast your bet because you also think, you may win. And this is not just because they suggest but you have also compared the advantages of each team.

In sports forums, you will always see people comparing statistics and speculating who will win and how they will win as possibilities. Once you're hooked on what they are saying, you might just bet based on their suggestion.

Surprisingly sports picks channels are increasing. Believe it or not, if people send thier BTC on projects doing ICO. You'd be surprised also how many people follow those channels like the casino streamers.

I think I belong to both of the categories as I also get some knowledge from outside sources other than my own research. In all honesty, having to know different opinions of a community can somehow give you a grasp of your decision to gamble on a certain team. For example, after doing my research on Team A, I discovered that there are some opinions and other information that are being shared against Team A, which I may believe or ignore.

Of course, the decision still lies on me on whether I should believe it or not but the information being spread by others is sometimes valuable. Most of the time, the research that I did is lacking and I get expert advice on some people depending on their extent of knowledge.

Like so many posters in this thread I'm both. It depends on the mood, the type of bet, the sport that I'm betting on... Sometimes I have a gut feeling about something or I follow a team and I know they can do well without asking anyone. Sometimes I'm not that sure and need to consult statistics and predictions.

Most peole are expected to be like that unless they're experts in the field and bet on their own all the time.

I like being balone when it comes to placing a bet as a gambler because going by a collective betting in gambling could be so risky and not too good ideally because you don't have full potential access to the decision and winnings, there may be also instances whereby one can got sidelined along the way if you don't trust the cliques of gamblers you're dealing with, i can only got an idea from them but not to bet together.

For what I know there are many examples of gamblers which are successful by developing their own method to bet at certain sports and to benefit from the different bets casinos offers, however I do not remember the existence a team of sport bettors which shared information among each other and became profitable, now team play has existed in other casino games and players have become profitable that way, a famous case was the MIT blackjack team which made huge profits, but I do not remember a similar team when it comes to sports bets.
