I think it counts if it leads to you locking bets because you and your mates have discussed the sport. But if it's just a simple discussion then it's just another get together or just one of those conversations that you may have with your friends.

I'm not familiar with team sports bettor because I will assume that anyone who gambled on sports betting rely on his own set of analysis of the game and so he bet on it with his proper knowledge and experience.

And on the second definition it seems to me that you are following a so called experts that give tips on every sports game. I think that the best thing to do is to trust yourself for betting events that you are sure that maybe this result will happen.It is different when you are not sure about what to bet,in this case it is advisable to check many sources like those Telegram channels where some self proclaimed experts give you their analysis on why they think that this outcome for that event is most likely to happen.

Well I am really into both lone and team sports betting but I am most of the time enjoying team sports such as with NBA Leauge. But I do also bet with boxing and UFC fights. I enjoy them both to be honest but I just play the same sports as with NBA so maybe that is why. When it comes on winning bets in sportsbetting, I guess it is harder to predict a winning bet on lone sports such as with UFC and boxing because anything could happen in an instant. There are no underdogs and such 'coz fighter perform differently on every match. I also detested group forecast and analysis because of contradicting and divergent views among the group members which often lead to non conclusion and taking a  final decision, I decided to be a lone sport bettor specifically in soccer bet that is my area of specialisation, whatever bet I picked is at my own risk and I only consult other source for more analysis if the need be, I have earning some profits as a lone bettor though I had some bad days too however I well satisfied with decision of betting alone without any external interference.

I think with this you can be considered a lone bettor because you only used the information to either confirm what you have and probably made some adjustments to it. Even if you have used the prediction shared from someone, I think it doesn't make someone a team bettor. IMO I think op didn't really classify a team bettor very well because I think the world team means together and contributing to the success of the whole in different ways, large or small doesn't matter. So if someone is not contributing to analyse made on Facebook, twitter etc how does that now make such person a team bettor. Throughout my experience betting in sports betting, I always try to do research first even though I already know the team that will compete in general. however, there is something we need to know before making a bet. first of all, I will do an analysis of several teams that I will include in the betting list. there is some information that I need to know in the update, both from the absence of players, the strategy set by the two teams, home and away matches, everything is a reference for my personal considerations.

Until you agree with what they suggest. Everything will be a suggestion cast your bet because you also think, you may win. And this is not just because they suggest but you have also compared the advantages of each team.

In sports forums, you will always see people comparing statistics and speculating who will win and how they will win as possibilities. Once you're hooked on what they are saying, you might just bet based on their suggestion.

I think I belong to both of the categories as I also get some knowledge from outside sources other than my own research. In all honesty, having to know different opinions of a community can somehow give you a grasp of your decision to gamble on a certain team. For example, after doing my research on Team A, I discovered that there are some opinions and other information that are being shared against Team A, which I may believe or ignore.

Of course, the decision still lies on me on whether I should believe it or not but the information being spread by others is sometimes valuable. Most of the time, the research that I did is lacking and I get expert advice on some people depending on their extent of knowledge.

For what I know there are many examples of gamblers which are successful by developing their own method to bet at certain sports and to benefit from the different bets casinos offers, however I do not remember the existence a team of sport bettors which shared information among each other and became profitable, now team play has existed in other casino games and players have become profitable that way, a famous case was the MIT blackjack team which made huge profits, but I do not remember a similar team when it comes to sports bets.

Even though you have to study and analyze yourself, you can actually add knowledge and insight that can help you become more proficient in predicting and determining which one is better to place a bet in the future.

Yes, you can always be a member of the group of the sportsbettors specifically for the sports you are interested with.
But it doesn't mean, you will always follow their suggestions because you are only getting their insights on certain event.
This is the same as reading the predictions of some sports sites, which I also do before I bet on certain sports.
Though I already have one in my mind, but reading others' opinions will give you outside perspective from yours.

Lone, definitely lone. I do not even check the odds before I make my assumption about the game and that is much better results so far for me. I look at what games there are this week, on 5 big leagues, and then I pick my games and the teams and I go and wager on them, sometimes I parlay them, sometimes I do individual bets and all but I know which games and which teams I am going to bet on without even knowing the odds.

I think that's not the definite meaning of a lone sports bettor - at least on how do I looked it from my own view.

I like to bet alone. But if my defeating rate get higher, then i try to look at the group betting. I realize that there are some mistakes in my strategy. I have gap with the strategy of the winner. Gambling strategy won't be same with others so one can be confused with his betting after losing too constantly. When the ratio comes on continuously, you should consult others. Group Betting has some benefits when I am betting with the same stress with my acquaintance, I can stay in the high position in the direction of confidence. Like many things in life that revolve around finances and money, those who go with the crowd might get lucky but often times they just end up getting burned. While you should definitely take elements, copy and try to figure out the strategy in use by the most successful people - you really need to make your own path to be the most successful. To base my bet, I end up being quite influenced by the opinion of other people, whether on sports analysis sites, in Telegram groups and even opinions and other bets made by bettors here at bitcointalk.

However, I always bet individually making my own choice.

Groups related on betting or other thing especially when dealing some money from different people is somehow sometimes associated with scam. So I guess this will never give any benefits to a gambler since if the group they join will ask some money and say they will collecting money so that they can bet a huge amount on their predictions then that's how they get scam. Under your definition, I do not think anyone is properly a lone bettor. You eventually are not immune to the noise and the news that are out there unless you do not talk to anyone, listen to any news nor have any world contact. I agree. If you are a lone bettor you should always check things first before betting, there are many factors in sports especially during tournaments. Like who are going to play for team A, or who are not going to play for team B. Who are not playing because of injuries. Who are not playing because of sickness. These are the kind of factors that affect your betting, while you can check these things on your own there will be some people, same bettor on the same sports or game that you might want to also check beforehand.

Well for me I'm kind of like an analyzer bettor, I check stats, standings, players, history, etc. before I bet.

I would fall in the category of the lone sport bettor. I always try to interpret the odds myself and do my own research on teams I’m betting on and against. Occasionally, I do let myself be swayed by the opinions of other people placing the same bet. I do take tips from other people but I generally don’t let myself be be dependent on other people’s pointers and advice.
Most of these predictions people find online on these various platforms are in most times misleading and purposefully false.

Looking for groups doesnt always mean that you would really be relying into their choices or picks because you arent that dumb on not to make decisions for yourself specially on your betting decisions.
You wouldnt really be just that make out that kind of decision.If you do find that your current betting results or outcome are really that good then there's no sense for you to find for some groups.

This is me, I don’t rely to anyone with regards to my betting decision because in gambling you should know what you are doing and relying to others are not ok most of the time. Analyzing the whole team and players is ideal even if you are not a serious bettor, this can still save you from losing your money. Betting is fun if you do it on your own, its a good achievement if you won based on your own analysis, the happiness is different.

Lone bettor on football and group bettor on Basketball, Tennis, Cricket, horse racing. In the latter I go with the popular maxim that , "two or more good heads are better than one". In the former, I am driven by the saying that, "experience is the best teacher". I have won and lost on both sides but that doesn't mean that one is better than other. Betting alone for me is no fun, sometimes you have to share your predictions and odds interpretation with the sport community that you're in, it has nothing against you btw.
It's quite fun to share to others your standings and how well or bad your predictions are. The same goes with the other bettors.
However, choosing to be a lone bettor is fine also as long as your bets and interpretations with the odds are effective.

I think there will be no blame game from what @OP is telling.  You are free at your own will to follow the betting suggestion of the group you are following.  So blaming them while they do not force their idea to you is not good IMO.

If they bet more than you do, sure they will make more money than you.  Or if they maliciously create that group to intentionally mislead bettor then sure they will earn more money than you.  And definitely they will earn money from you because they are the one who has the skill to perfectly analyze the sports outcome so they can bet anywhere they wanted and get a good result.

Lone or not, checking things first before doing anything is always a must so that we will avoid getting in dangers. If we are in a team, it does not mean that we will now fully depend on them. No that's wrong but as a team, each of you has your own contribution which helps making decision more easier and surer.

Knowing who will play is easy to tell but what is hard is knowing if there will be a player that will get injured or sick but in some games, there are a cashout option available. I guess we can just stop the game early in case unexpected events happened. If not then all we gotta do is pray that the match is still going to be on our favour.

Because it's much more fun to group together and bet on popular tournaments. I think those who are team bettors need additional costs as a way for them to participate and or become members of certain bettors, but if that only happens to a group of friends then they will also do it in different ways. Because I think not all bettors do it with in-depth analysis, because there are also those who only bet based on the available odds.
So I think things like this have many factors because each of them has a different purpose or purpose.

But if it's about whether I'm a single bettor or a team bettor, then I'll answer it as a single bettor. Because for me single bettors are still interesting to do, because we also do everything in our own way and don't just follow other people.
