The decision to sign many football veterans from the  European scene I think can never be a long term plan to improve the quality of football in the Saudi League because most of these players barely have few more years to play professional football before retiring from the the beautiful round leather game. But I think the Saudi League is signing these players for another reason and that's to get global audience and popularity. At the moment, I think they've gotten what they really want when it comes to advertising the league to the world because at the moment, almost every part of the world now discusses about the Saudi League thanks the the presence of football superstars in the league.
Now that they've gotten what they want in terms of global recognition, I think it's now high time they start developing young talents in the country in other to remain popular in world football.
Club football is simply the best competitive games. Players of the current era of football doesn't play for awards or major titles, though some brilliant ones actually focuses on that but those random players focused on earning big salaries from clubs, one of the reason they're focused on moving to SPL clubs and playing significant roles just for the improvement and popularity of the league. Saudi Pro League clubs will not stop until they've succeeded in bringing in more promising players from European football. This is just the beginning as I'm certain they will continue to push for more signings in upcoming summer.

Saudi Arabian clubs have spent a lot of money to bring in several star  players from Europe. And they benefited greatly from it. First of all, the world knows about the Saudi Pro League. Saudi  Arabia has been  promoted. And secondly, the overall performance  of the clubs in Saudi Arabia has also improved tremendously. Saudi Pro  League has now become much more  competitive and exciting. And if this continues, if Saudi  clubs continue to  add more talented players  from Europe to the Saudi League, then I'd say the Saudi Pro League will become more exciting than Ligue 1 in the next few years.
Yes, this is the reason why Saudi Arabian clubs currently dare to spend large amounts of money to bring in talented players from Europe just to make Saudi pro league football bigger and known throughout the world and can also be promoted to the Champions League.
This effort will continue until they actually get tickets to the Champions League so that several clubs in the Saudi League will continue to get players from Europe and no matter how much money they have to spend to get these players, this club's goal is definitely to expand the reach of Saudi football. pro league.
I never speculated that the Saudi Pro League would be able to compete with the big leagues in Europe because it was too early, even though it could be the biggest league, that doesn't mean it could surpass the European leagues that have been around for a long time.

I have said on many occasions that what the Saudi Pro League is doing is part of a project run by the Saudi Kingdom which is based on the PIF company. The funds disbursed to bring in top European players are money that has been allocated from the Kingdom and also PIF as the company that has acquired Al Nassr, Al Hilal, Al Ittihad, Al-Ahli. These four clubs are only owned by one person, namely Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Even so, PIF only acquired 75% of the shares. Maybe the scenario is that these clubs can appear competitive without the intervention of the government or the PIF company. because, those who run the club are the 25% share holders.

Oh yes, Newcastle was one of those acquired by PIF.
Overall, I agree with what you said. However, to reach the level of competing with European teams, for example Lique 1, there will still need to be a process. After all, only 4 teams are really strong in this competition. the rest is an ordinary team even though those who manage it are also part of the Royal family. The point is, what they planned in their project went according to plan. the rest, we'll just see how it develops.

Here you can find a German source that says the following:

Quote
UEFA stellt klar: Keine Champions League mit Saudi-Klubs

The translation is: "UEFA clarifies: No Champions League with Saudi clubs"

Quote:
Quote
"An der Champions League, der Europa League und der Conference League können nur europäische Klubs teilnehmen."

The translation is: "In the Champions League, Europa League and the Conference League, only European cubs can participate."

I think there is nothing more to say about this. They don't know why and how the rumors got spread without ever informing them about this idea and regardless of the idea it won't happen.

What the Saudi Pro League is doing might not be the best long-term plan, I'm beginning to think. Bringing in famous players like Ronaldo and Neymar makes news and increases popularity, but what about long-term success? It's possible that relying only on star power, especially from experienced players, might not be enough to improve the team's general quality

We should think about the future, right? Your league's ability to grow and get better depends on its young, skilled players. One problem is that it's hard to get these young players to choose the SPL over well-known European teams. It's to advance their careers, win titles, and get noticed in the major levels. For the SPL to be successful in drawing this important group, they'll need to come up with something equally appealing

I think that is going to change though. Because it is rumoured that the Saudi Professional League is in talks with UEFA about including them in the Champions League competition. So if they actually get included in the Champions League competition, I think a lot more young players are going to be interested in going to the Saudi league. Especially when they see that they are offering a lot more money. But as I said, it is only a rumour. And I still don't know whether it will actually happen, and even if it does when it will happen.

I have heard two rumors regarding it this year.

1. UEFA has been rumored considering including the winner of SPL into the UCL as per saudi pro league's requestion the UEFA. I personally rejected this idea caused by it will be only destroy the reputation of FIFA.
2. UEFA has invited al nassr to participate in the UCL through invitation due to the popularity of the club.

It seems that people are beginning to hold the opinion that the news about the UEFA giving an opportunity for the Saudi club to participate is nothing but fake news. There's no need to trust it anymore. People are losing their brain.

These are just rumors and far from reality. Saudi Arabia is not in Europe and they are plating in Asia. Also, teams like Al Nassr and Al Hilal or other Saudi teams are playing in the AFC Champions League. I think it's not even fair to have a team like Nassr in UEFA just because they spend lots of money on famous players. This way any team can be in UEFA by spending money.

The only realistic option for the future is a new competition, but we also have that in the form of the FIFA Club World Cup. If we take all the competitions into account that already exist, I doubt that the UEFA will see the need for a new format because everything is in place. But I get why the Saudi League would like to get a spot in the European Champions League because that is where the global audience is. Or the global audience that contributes the largest share to football as a commercial product. There are also a lot of fans in Asia and other places, but Europe is the hotspot for football.

But let's be real, such news is just a fantasy. Keep dreaming.
This is like a total joke, and folks are starting to wonder if you can just "become" a European Club by throwing in enough money.

The Saudi league isn't too bad. It's on the rise with better and better standards. Sure, they're putting resources into getting the best players, and there's quality for sure, but there's no chance Saudi Arabia is getting into UEFA.

There are also a lot of fans in Asia and other places, but Europe is the hotspot for football.
Indeed, to get more attraction, teams have to play in a famous and competitive league like Champions League. Playing in UEFA is not related in being in Europe only or have at least a part of its territory on it, otherwise Turkey and Russia wouldn't play there since most of their territories are in Asia. The other example is Australia playing with Asian countries in order to qualify to World Cup although they are the biggest country in the continent that belong to them. Another counter example is Israel teams playing in all European competitions up to Champions League while they are totally in Asia. Saudi teams could have arrangement to play in European competitions if both parties agree but I think they shouldn't overestimate their power.
I think developing a super league with the best teams from each continent to face each other will be a good idea. I know there is an actual version about that but I find it unattractive the way it is done right now.

Yes but the UEFA also knows what allowing those clubs to join European competitions would probably undermine their own goals for the future. People from Asia already watch the European Champions League, but Europeans hardly watch the Asian Champions League. But there are competitions between all the continents, aren't there?

And with all due respect, but who wants the European teams to put more of their energy into games against Asian teams when the real highlights take place between European clubs? I would be disappointed if these players have to travel to Argentina to play against some club from there, come home injured and miss the real big games most of us love so much. I think it is good the way it is.

I wonder if the trend will continue if Ronaldo finishes his career t leaves the club accordingly? I, for one, am considering it. Moreover, rumours have recently surfaced again that the Saudi Arabian club may be allowed to play in the Champions League. Only if earlier it sounded from the mouth of the Saudi league itself, now it sounds from the side of UEFA that they may invite Al Nassr.
The undisputed GOAT is in Saudi Arabia and have completed milestones of goals and he's aiming to break more football records in Saudi Pro League. Cristiano Ronaldo is experienced and basically knows what everyone expects from him and he ensure he delivers his team interms of difficulties. He might playing Football until he clocks 40 years of age because he's still very agile as any player that are in their late 20s. Ronaldo competitive stats is far better than those young players that are in their prime, some of them don't even go an inch close to his level.

But the question is, if Ronaldo leaves and or retires later, whether the Saudi Pro League will still have a good trend like now, or like when Ronaldo is still playing. Because yes, it seems to be quite a consideration too because after all, the Saudi Pro League became big at this time because of Ronaldo playing here. But yes, I may also be a little doubtful about the Saudi Pro League later when Ronaldo is no longer here, it seems that the trend of the Saudi Pro League will also slowly decline and maybe become dim, who knows.

The truth is that the Saudi Arabian club's side is still at its high development level and at that, there is a need for them to look away from the rewards and concentrate more on the brand building for now,  this is most important to the clubs most especially since most of the players that moved from the European club side to the Saudi Arabia clubs side like Christina Renaldo have already build a name for themselves and also made a lot of awards but now want to contribute to the Saudi Arabia clubs side to gain traction in the international football ground.

So for such we have to give them. At least the next couple of years to come,  to be aboe to meet up with other International leagues before the venture into chasinyall the awards and making any possible attempt to take over the market from already-established leagues.

Still, we don't know which Saudi team sent him the offer but this player is definitely an effective player for Manchester United and I think they won't let him leave easily.

But Bruno Fernandes has dispelled the news about his transfer to the Saudi Arabia league. He said that although he is not pleased with the performance of Manchester United he is happy and has no intention of leaving the club. There have been a lot of rumours concerning some United players mainly due to the transfer of some ownership stake to Sir Jim Ratcliffe. There is a feeling that the new leadership will bring in some changes in the club. The 29-year-old Portuguese midfielder's contract will run till 2026 and he is a very important player to Erik ten Hag that was why he was made the captain after Harry Maguire was removed. I know Saudi Arabia has the money to attract the player to the Middle East but I am not sure that Bruno Fernandes will want to end his career so soon. Manchester United will not want to let him leave unless his performance starts reducing. He might see out his contract with the Red Devils and may consider moving when he is above 30 years.

Why do you think that some club (not necessarily Al-Nasr) cannot play in the European Champions League using the wild card system? After the pile of crap that FIFA and UEFA did, do you think that they are incapable of coming up with something good? I think Al-Nasr's participation in the European Champions League would obviously be a more interesting and significant event than any Victoria or Red Star. Moreover, due to the change in the format of the Champions League, it would be painless for everyone since the number of places for European clubs would not decrease.

If Ronaldo leaves or retires I think it will be over. We have to see from the start what their target is to bring in lots of star players, yeah the target is for promotion such as hosting the World Cup and Property projects, when all has been achieved then this trend will end anyway. In the football business, the activities carried out by Saudi Pro League clubs are not profitable expenses are greater than income, one example is the Chinese Super League when the target is not achieved, the trend will end.

No need to worry, it is estimated that we can watch matches in this League until 2030 so we still have 7 years to enjoy every match,

After the Saudi Pro League became a trend with the transfer of Ronaldo, many teams in this league did not hesitate to spend money on star players. Even if Ronaldo retires, clubs will still be willing to spend money on star players, so the hype in this league will not end easily anymore.

Many people thought that this league was unwatchable even when Ronaldo was transferred, but I see that many people now follow this league regularly and there is interest in many teams, not just Ronaldo's team, Al-Nassr. I think as long as the money is spent, and it will be spent, the teams in the Saudi Pro League will continue to create interest in this league.

It wasn't a surprise when they brought in some of the top players from Europe to join the SPL, it was their plan to boost the League's popularity and it worked. Especially now that there are rumors that one of the clubs from the SPL has asked to join and be part of the Champions League, Al Nassr. Although it is just a rumor, but from here we can see they are successful with their buzz recruiting many players who previously played for big clubs in Europe.
If it does happen (Al Nassr will play in the Champions League), it will be a huge success for the SPL.

I have now spent some time researching where this rumor comes from that the UEFA intends to invite Al-Nassr into the Champions League for the season 24/25. I can't find an official source that either cites any official channel from the UEFA or is itself considered highly trustworthy.

Can anyone post a link here where the UEFA or one of their officials has announced that Al-Nassr will be invited or confirmed that the rumor is true and that there are considerations to extend the Champions League by this club?
That's what I emphasized in what I said earlier "even if it's just a rumor" which I also did not find an official source for this rumor to be followed up. But my point here is that when there are rumors like that circulating, then I can conclude that their league has become popular, even to the point of such rumors. Regardless of who first made the news or anything else, it is of interest to us, me especially. The reason is, I'm thinking what if this really happens? Yes, although realistically I also don't think that far.

It could also be a strategy by the Saudi Professional League if you think about it. Just spread the rumor and then see what the repercussions are from the association or also what the response if from the fans from Europe and from elsewhere. Once the rumor is out, it was guaranteed that some media will spread it and some people will share it and once that happens, the UEFA is forced to respond even if they don't want to because so many people will ask them whether there is some substance to that rumor.

Summer is by the corner and Saudi Pro League clubs are preparing gigantic bids to offer for European players, I'm certain most players will grabbed this golden opportunity and make proper good use of it.nPlayers moving to Saudi Pro League are in for just one thing and that's making good money from football. Erik Ten Hag knows the players he wants and he's keen on signing more players in this January transfer window. Bruno Fernandez is going nowhere, he's the key man in Manchester and the club needs him now the most. I think Bruno Fernandez have no plans to move to SPL currently.

Bruno Fernandes has given a response about the rumor. He never said it was valid news, he said it was a rumor and didn't want to pay attention the rumor. I think we can conclude that Bruno Fernandes has no plan to leave Man United, he is happy in Man United. We know that Bruno Fernandes has a big role, he is Man United captain and his role is irreplaceable. With this condition, there is no reason that Bruno Fernandes should move to Saudi League. I can say it is fake news, dude!!
