Ittihad goal in getting Benzema was to increase the popularity of the team and the big names of the SPL, but since the start of the season until now Benzema has not given a strong performance, just like an ordinary player.

Ittihad already got what they wanted because Benzema actually helped their club to be more famous in Europe. Benzema could not help Al Ittihad to defend Saudi Professional League title and it is a failure for the club and player. In marketing, at least Al Ittihad got more acceptable return than on field and in the league.

Indeed, Benzema contract with Ittihad will end in 2026 so currently Ittihad also doesn't want to lose money and would rather loan this player to another team and see how he performs in europe and if when he is in europe Benzema is able to appear attractive, I think what I think is correct that Benzema is just not comfortable being in the SPL.

Benzema might return to Europe but he also face with his salary request that will nearly impossible be accepted by big clubs in Europe especially at his old age. Benzema can find a club in Europe but only if he accepts very lower salary and Al Ittihad is ready to let him go with low transfer fee too.

Benzema is facing exact issues of Cristiano Ronaldo in January 2023 because big clubs don't want to break their balances in finance and dress room.
