That's actually a smart move Op i think you deserve some accolades.
Because if you decide to leave the bike to just keeping lying still in one place it might eventually start developing some faults and that will also affect its price if you eventually decide to sell off the bike. But since you sold it now it means the bike is still in a good sharp and probably was sold for some good amount of money.

Op you should also be aware that those Bitcoin that you've gotten yourself need to be kept safe so as to protect your investment. I will advice that you purchase a hardware wallet and keep your Bitcoin in it that will provide more security than using online wallet.

P.S Op don't be tempted to leave your Bitcoin in any exchange no matter how trust worthy you think they're. Remember; NOT YOUR KEY, NOT YOUR COIN.

actually, if you have strong belief that btc will recover very soon, this is a very good opportunity to buy bitcoin. however, you should know the risks on putting money on this market. the value of motorbikes will surely decline, so if the OP feels that it is better to sell off his motorbike to buy btc, why not? as long as he knows what market he is getting into. no one can assure him that btc will rise in the next few months but it is worth the risk if the market bounces again. weigh the pros and cons, and the final decision will be on him.

I don't really understand the price of motorbikes and if you don't use it anymore then I agree with your decision to sell it. If you believe that bitcoin will increase drastically in the future then why not as long as that money is not used for urgent needs in the near future I think it's worth it.

@OP you will probably see your investment grow over time, so it is better than keeping unused items whose value continues to decrease. But here with zero bitcoin experience you will be another concern if you don't first learn the security aspects of the asset, especially in the long term.

Motorcycle is a liability, especially owning two and none possibly generates any income for you but you rather spend on petrol, engine oil, maintenance and the rest.
If I was to be in your shoes, I would have sold the motorcycle long ago to buy the same said Bitcoin. Bear season is the right season to invest in bitcoin because the current bitcoin price is very cheap. If you think now is not the right time to invest, when is the right time? Do you want to buy bitcoins for $69k, or do you want to buy bitcoins for $16k? It's hard to understand what you are advising OP, I am also a bitcoin investor, I want bitcoin to drop even more, and I wish had a lot of money to buy bitcoin from now on because once this opportunity is gone, I will no longer have the opportunity to buy bitcoins at cheap prices.

From your title, I assumed you’re in the automobile business and accept bitcoin as payment. Reading the whole story now I realize that you’re selling a personal property to buy bitcoins. As in the OP, the bike is losing value everyday and is a liability. On the other hand the bitcoins you purchased are a long term asset. So I don’t think you are wrong. Now if you could tell us how you purchase the bitcoins, p2p or CEXs and what wallet you’re using for storage.

Well, if you are ready for all that, then I think you don't need to wait anymore but sell the bike immediately before it depreciates further, and the current bitcoin price is also very suitable to buy and hold. I don't know if you've heard of the recent demise of centralized exchanges, but my advice is: don't store bitcoins on exchanges, buy yourself a cold wallet or use a non-custodial wallet to hold bitcoins, don't use exchanges and custodial wallets.

Why the OP kept 2 motorcycles at all? Where they completely different (like one is a sport bike, and the other is enduro)? Or they were two of same class? If they were same, then it is reasonable to sell one. If they have different use case, they I would kept both. For me looks like a strange trade for the sake of investment. Why not sell then everything, but keep 1 fork, 1 spoon, 1 knife, 1 set of clothes, everything in 1.

P.S. What about the gear? Do you have two sets of gear also? Consider selling one.

When you already know that the price of motorbikes is getting cheaper and lower and you decide to sell it to take Bitcoin is the right choice. anyway, you still have 1 vehicle that can be used. All you need to do is prepare a secure wallet for the long term. I did it 3 years ago and it proved relevant to the point where the profits were in sight, in fact I was able to buy 2x what I was selling.
