The jury might be corrupted and they might choose the ugliest chick for Miss Universe. Grin
The chances of this happening can be very high considering how easy it is to influence the decision of judges or Jury in this kind of competitions. Not in the Miss Universe, but I have heard cases of ladies win Beauty competitions by offering themselves for sexual pleasure to some of these jury in the competition, maybe not all of them, but to the most influential official that can make them winner's of the competition. These jury and judges can also be influenced by money and other benefits.
Though there is no proof of this but these things cannot be said to be completely impossible at the moment. But I wouldn't say that sexual pleasure is not the only thing, many people can be recommended in different ways. Since R'Bonney Gabriel is an American ‍she gets priority as it is happened in America. But all these discussions have no basis. So we have to welcome whoever occupies this position.
I do understand on why some people do really throwing out those accusations but it cant really be denied that those are indeed possibilities which it do raises up some question on how the heck it did happen
among all of those beauties which the least had been selected but well it is really that said that those are baseless accusations but those are possibilities which there's nothing we can do if they do really have that
choice since it would really be always that final and this is why there's nothing we can do but to accept it out.Having those assumptions about this and that are something to be very
common in every competition.

This is right. Most of the time, judges aren't really after the most beautiful candidate because that alone isn't enough to suffice being a Miss Universe. A lady with strong personality, wit, charm, advocacy, and intellect are the common attributes they are looking for in order to crown one. External factors such as voting, fandom, and the likes make a difference too. The presence and the genuinity of the woman before them are of importance too because after all, the Miss Universe is a platform for compassionate-driven women to showcase their advocacy and campaign to make the world a "better place"

With these being said, it will really be a tough job spotting who will be crowned especially if you're just going to bet with your gut feeling before the candidates can even showcase their talents and charisma on the stage.

I don't have a problem if the judges give some weight to other factors such as personality and charm as you have mentioned. But IMO, beauty should be the topmost metric. Afterall it is being dubbed as a contest to select the most beautiful woman in the world. But look at the winners for the last 5-6 editions. Some of them were outright ugly (don't want to list out all the names) and it is making a mockery of this contest. Previously in my country this event used to attract a lot of media attention. But nowadays hardly anyone cares, because the jury is so biased and give awards to undeserving candidates.

I agree, lets take a look at a different kind of contest like The Voice, we understand physical attractiveness and charm to be factors to decide the winner, as they are important too, but at the end the winner will still be a person with an amazing voice, if a contestant which was attractive and charming but which did not sang well won the contest it will make a joke out of it and then the whole contest will lose its reason to be, and it seems to me this is what is happening with Miss Universe.

I think the Miss Universe contest has been changing their rules and criteria over the years. Specially in the latest few years.

For example:

Since its inception, contestants have also been forbidden to be married or pregnant during the competition, and, in the case of winners, during their reign. Beginning in 2023, however, the Miss Universe Organization will allow married or pregnant women to compete in the pageant.

In recent years, all Miss Universe candidates have been required to be at least university degree holders or working professionals from the onset of their national pageants.

I don’t know who this year’s Miss Universe is, and definitely had no idea who it would be. However, after seeing the pageant’s new owner, I feel pretty safe in saying that next year’s winning won’t be a woman at all. I’d be willing to bet that next year’s winner will be a transvestite (is that still a word that’s acceptable to use?) male dressed as a woman. Is any platform letting you make that bet yet?

I don't doubt that could happen at some point, because in some regional and local competitions there are men participating among women. A big disrespect with women when organizers allow this anyway. However, it may take some years to be implemented in Miss Universe yet, because there are some ridiculous prohibitions to be extinguished first, like restricting age of models up to 28 years old. So, it would become even more bizarre if women above 28 years old couldn't compete, while men could. Unfortunatelly it's already a reality in sports betting, where there are men competing against women and having a huge advantage over them.

Well.. completely agree with this. Given the insane amounts of wokeness and political correctness injected in to this meaningless competition now, I can't rule out any such possibility. At the end, Miss Universe will also end up as a joke similar to Eurovision and we will have a winner similar to Conchita Wurst. Already transgenders are dominating some of the athletics competitions that are reserved for women. In order to ensure equality and to make a political statement, very soon they will be allowed in to competitions such as Miss Universe as well.

I am not sure how a "singer" has anything to do with wokeness. I mean does it really matter if you are male or female or trans or whatever you want to be called to win a singing contest? If you sing well, you win, and if you do not sing well, you lose. Shouldn't it be that simple? If you have a trans person joining miss universe, and that person is actually better looking then others, does it matter? They pick the most beautiful one and that means if a trans person is the best looking, they could end up winning too. That's not the trouble here though is it?

The trouble is justice, so if you think someone that is not the prettiest ends up winning for political reasons, then in that case it could happen in all-female competition too, trans do not change that, lack of justice is bad in every and all cases.

Ms. Universe focuses on women's advocacies and it's not about pretty faces or talented women. They usually select successful women and good communicators. Yes, there should be a gender equality nowadays and transgenders are accepted in the society but as a respect, they also have their own pageant which women also respect. This pageant is reserved for women with goals and promotes advocacies and they would serve as women's voices worldwide. The new owner might be transgender but they should know their limits when it comes to choosing the right candidates.

Hi guys, Miss universe 2023 will be tomorrow in my timezone. I'd like to ask if you know what bookies are offering the betting odds.

I have already searched from all the bookies I'm using but no betting odds are offered.
The event is over and R'Bonney Gabriel won the event, but you will not be able to see a betting odds that is judged without a criteria that is yet known to anyone as only a select few make those judgement and there are plenty of inside politics at play and no bookies will be able to give out a odds on that, if you found any which bookie was offering them, the same with Oscars but we have betting odds on that but everyone can review the movies and have an opinion.

Well.. completely agree with this.

It's not that we discriminate them but this competition was like a tradition already so they must stick with the rules. There are still competitions out there for shemales, transgender, gays or whatever term you called it. Their real gender is still a male so it's not a problem if they can participate on those competition who are built for males but as long as they will fix their selves first e.g dressing like a man and then having a hair cut like a man so that it won't look weird when the audience watch them.

Let's admit it that having them in an event will make the event look more entertaining. I won't hesitate betting on them because they are also strong as a regular male.

I haven’t seen the outfit of Miss Salvador but I guess it’s not surprising at all if she used bitcoin themed because El Salvador will always be known as the first country to adopt bitcoin as a payment system. Well, that boosts our excitement too as there might be chances that in the next miss universe pageant, contestants will also be using another crypto themed that will lead to mass awareness about crypto. Miss Universe betting might also be possible in the next pageant as I don’t find betting odds this year.

Miss El Salvador dons golden bitcoin outfit at beauty pageant

The thing that they've done on that costume does really increase out awareness of Bitcoins existence which i could say that it is really a great initiative for whomever
did consider on adding or showcasing that one. Good thing!

I don't have a problem if the judges give some weight to other factors such as personality and charm as you have mentioned. But IMO, beauty should be the topmost metric. Afterall it is being dubbed as a contest to select the most beautiful woman in the world.
True. That will lost the essence of the contest if the judges keep on favoring those undeserving ones. Honestly, Miss Universe today does not have the topmost beauty but maybe the judges had seen her with talent and wit that makes her chosen as Miss Universe. With this, a lot of allegations came out that this beauty pageant has been rigged but as expected, Miss USA denies all of that.

Is there any beauty competition that are exclusive only for females? It seems like it's all gone to the sideways though the title represents beauty but I couldn't agree to make mix both female and trans in a competition. There's something wrong about it if you'd ask and I bet they didn't see it or just they're turning a blind eye or as well they want to promote the LGBT for these competition?

We all know that both genders have different strength and style when in athletic event but they did mix some trans on it and you already know the difference/advantage when in competition.

I just had to look 'em up for myself cus I ain't gonna lie, haven't heard that peeps normally wagered against the contestants just so a winner could emergeat the end; I thought it was predetermined by the US councilman or something....no? Then I've been reading through alot if post (though, bit thoroughly) to see if anyone has a clue, but to no avail... how's the OP even sure that it's possible?
R'Bonney Gabriel had to go home with the title and whatsoever gets awarded to the winner of the contest... She pretty lucky this time around. I sure hope to see someone more explicit...., and could someone please show us to a site that gives an option like that? Much thanks

No, they should have their own pageant and leave this to true-born women, not discriminating against the LGBT in fact we have a pageant for gays and lesbians here in our country but they never mix that, there will be a lot of protests if they will allow that, I read that there's was a recommendation to do that but they never entertain that because it will put down the pageant's true essence and this could put an end to the Miss Universe pageant, I support LGBT but they should leave this one alone, actually its more colorful to watch LGBT pageant they are wittier in the question and answers.

Probably that would be the case as the new owner is a trans woman so expect that there will be new set of rules and the board will accept transgender as they are now widely accepted worldwide. However, if we stick to its title itself, Miss Universe should be a real woman with real beauty and charm, and not a transgender. Although the advocacy will still be the same, but the POV might be somehow different now.

I would really disagree if ever they would really be allowing some transgen to join up this prestigious competition, not to have some discrimination about these transgen but let alone for this place for pure women.

It would really be good looking if we do see those traditional women who would compete for the crown and not for some men who turns out to be a woman. They should need to think up twice or thrice or even
more because if they would really be finalizing on such decision then for sure it would really be rained up by lots of criticisms basing into that.
