Unstoppable wallet  ^{for Android}was elevated to 0.49.2. From the comparison with 0.49.0 one can conclude that this seems to be the patch update featuring mostly a backend-driven rework of the swap engine ^{which moved USwap to  API v2} rather than new user-facing features, plus small bug fixes relevant to Zano and Tron.

The latest App version is 0.49.3, and it was released on July 24. There were a total of 9 main highlights in the 0.49 update that the unstoppable wallet published. Apart from the addition of swap providers, I don't see any significant update. Additional support for Zcash is good one though. Sometimes they're stuck on syncing.

If you look at the relevant  commits, you'll notice that essentially 0.49.3 is the small patch release focused on improving Zano send-error UX (distinguishing "node unreachable" from generic errors), plus underlying zanokit/tronkit updates. So, I didn't see the reason to update my wallet on the day when 0.49.3 was released ^{as I'm not interested in Zano or Tron}. Still staying on 0.49.2.


UPD. The latest now is 0.49.4 with added support for Zcash Ironwood.  

Unstoppable is on steroids.

Unstoppable was elevated to v0.50.0. ^{marked as pre-release}

The noticable feature is the new chain support for THORChain and MayaChain, plus a few new swap providers, so you can use more routes to swap coins. Swaps themselves got clearer too, now showing execution time estimates and better output info before you confirm trade. Zano users get confidential assets and aliases, while Monero gets coin control, node autoselect, 25 word legacy seed import, and proper account support.

I don't know if this happens to other users: if I don't access my wallet for a while (say, 2–3 days), it prompts me to create a new one or restore the existing wallet. Strangely, my wallet profile is actually still saved on the device, yet I can't log in. It’s a bit annoying because I have to delete multiple profiles after restoring the same wallet backup several times.

I have a created a test wallet in Unstoppable Wallet. It doesn't contain any coins. I open it rarely because I don't use the wallet. I have never experienced what you reported. My test wallet loads normally whenever I open the software on my phone. Syncing is another question. Could it be because of some security or privacy features you enabled/ticked in the wallet? Did you make many custom changes in the settings? The same question for the settings in your phone and OS. Have you played around with that a lot?

Same as above, I don't have such an issue. I open the app, it asks for the PIN and that's pretty much it. Do you by any chance have the duress mode ON? I have not tried it but that's the only thing that I would assume would potentially trigger something like that. You would have that if you either downloaded the app from F-droid as opposed to the app store, or have bought the premium subscription.

Could you provide some screenshots of what you're seeing? You said your wallet profile is actually still saved on the device, how do you know that? If you're seeing it on the wallet, and then you select it, what happens? the app crashes?

It's common for some wallets that support BIP39 Passphrase to always ask for your passphrase every time you access the app again, but this doesn't seem to be the case here, as each new session is asking you to restore a wallet or profile from scratch. This is not normal, as exposing your seed phrase for so long could compromise it. I recommend reporting this on their github.

I haven't face anything like this, I faced syncing error but that was another matter, anyway I find this there is similar kind of problem which was reported on GitHub "Encrypted data" gets randomly corrupted #4447" and as well here Keystore implementation in app has multiple bugs.

Reinstalling is said to be enough as a solution here. Have you ever done that? Obviously, seeds should be backed up before reinstalling.

I'm just wondering if this is related to local storage permissions (I thought the wallet didn't allow reading saved profiles), but I haven't found any such setting so far, neither in the phone settings nor in the UW app itself.
Synchronization always runs smoothly, except for Zcash and XMR (as usual).

The "haunted portfolio" and "Lucky Guess" profiles were essentially restored from the same seed+pass backup. They are all active and require re-syncing when switching, but this doesn't cause the app to crash.

I was almost about to ask you what you are talking about when I took another look at the settings in Unstoppable Wallet. You are right. I can't activate anything under the "Defense System" section on my end including "Robbery Protection." I would have to subscribe to premium features and pay either $25 monthly, or $199 annually. That's pretty messed up and I didn't know Unstoppable Wallet had that.

I haven't given Unstoppable Wallet any permissions on my phone and it works without asking for any. You didn't answer my questions from the previous post regarding your local software and OS settings. Maybe you have messed around with those and it's affecting normal use of the wallet.

So let me get this right, when you open the wallet after some period of inactivity, you have to restore your wallet, and when you do and then go to "Manage wallets", you can actually see the previous wallets as you're showing us on the screenshot?

If you don't have any defense feature as I have mentioned above and you're not actively using some software to delete the cache, then I don't believe this behavior is normal at all. You may want to report it on their GitHub  repository (choose iOS or Android): https://github.com/horizontalsystems

If he decides to report it to the developers, they are going to have questions for him. Probably even more more than what I asked, but something tells me that he isn't willing to answer anything and reveal much about his setup.

A feature that is free for one part of their userbase is a paid, premium feature for others. They are making Play Store users pay for an option that is free on F-droid. This makes me not want to recommend the wallet to anyone.

If I had to guess I would say it's because of how small the userbase is. If F-droid had a large userbase, they wouldn't be doing that. If I'm not mistaken, some features like sending to blacklisted/suspicious addresses use external and (I would imagine also expensive) APIs such as ChainAnlysis. It's probably not sustainable for them to offer it to everyone for free.

Btw, they announced (a few hours after your reply  ) that ALL premium features (as opposed to before) will be enabled for F-droid users for two months[1].

That's their problem. Why are they even scanning and trying to find out who and where I am sending my coins? Such a feature shouldn't be there. It's none of their business. As long as the network accepts my transaction and it's in accordance with the blockchain's rules, that's all that matters. I am not interested in ChainAnlysis's or the Panda Conservation Program's opinion on my transaction and the new recipient.

0.50  release for Unstoppable   for both Android and iOS apps  is now stable.

 As it was already mentioned in pre-release the wallet now supports two new blockchains, THORChain and MayaChain, and the swap feature works with several new providers , so you'll have more ways to trade coins with clearer time estimates and better info on what you're getting.

 Zano got confidential assets and alias support.

 Monero got the big batch of upgrades like coin control, automatic node selection, old-style 25-word seed import, and account support. On top of that, the coin info screens look better with new buy/sell buttons.

 Basically new release brought more coins to swap, better privacy coin support, and a cleaner overall feel.

Looks like it is worth to update.
UPD. new 0.5.1 release for Android.

Unstoppable Wallet made one change (I don't know when) that I don't really like. When you wanted to swap coins in the past, it allowed you to select which provider to use. They were listed by name. I remember that ThorChain and MayaChain were on that list. That's gone now. You can now change the swap route, but the software doesn't list the swap providers. Take a look at the screenshot below. You can filter the providers by best rate or swap speed but you don't know which one you are using.

Compared to Unstoppable Wallet, Cake Wallet still shows the names of the swap partners. I would like to see them as well.

Exactly. I was actually planning to write a report on their Github repo today, because the issue resurfaced after I hadn't opened the app for nearly a week. Then, I stumbled upon the solution recently by accident.

Here’s the sequence of events: I opened the wallet, and it prompted me for the wallet PIN; as I suspected, it then asked to restore the wallet. I left it like that for a while before force closing it from the list of active tasks. Later, when I started writing a reply here and decided to take some screenshots of the UI, I reopened the app. Suddenly, I managed to log into one of the profiles and could see the list of active wallet profiles without having to perform a restoration.

It might be an issue with my device failing to update its state after the re-sync process, or perhaps the sync needs to run for a few minutes before reopen the app.

Unstoppable Wallet has had many updates in that two-month period. Update your wallet. Perhaps there is a bug that affected older versions of the software for certain phone models and it got fixed in the meantime. I don't think you are gaining anything from using an outdated version.

In my experience, and I might be wrong, Unstoppable Wallet only starts syncing after you log in to your profile. The way you described it, you didn't do that. You just entered your PIN and left it alone at the screen where you need to select your profile. I don't think the wallet syncs there at all. You can try to replicate it. Do the same things you did previously but also open one of your profiles. You will see that the wallet starts to sync after the profile opens. If it were already in sync after PIN entry, it wouldn't need to sync again after you loaded a profile.
