why people are always interested in altcoins

as we know, many people suggest investing in bitcoin because the risk is not too high.
but if we look at the market there are lots of people buying altcoins, and to be honest I also like to buy altcoins but there aren't many of them, and it's still my biggest investment in bitcoin. and to be honest even though investing in altcoins is risky but I always want to buy and the reason is because of the high pumping..
and I want to ask everyone what is your  for buying altcoins, is the reason the same as mine?

I guess maybe they think that altcoin is a get rich scheme, I mean you can literally buy a lot hold and then wait till some entity pumps it hard. Or better yet like what happen to Doge, sooner or later there will be one influencer that will ride on that popularity.

And so if bitcoin can give us like x10, altcoins for some investors will yield more than that.

So it's their obvious choice to get quick money, instead of solid investment like Bitcoin.

According to altcoin price movements, it is more significant when there is a percentage increase in price than bitcoin, even though the price movement mechanism is generally technical, tends to follow bitcoin movements.

People buy altcoins because they’re a lot cheaper than bitcoin & even though it’s a lot more risky to buy & hold centralised alts, they can bring bigger returns than bitcoin. It’s not something that I am particularly comfortable doing but some people risk it all in alts.

I find that avid altcoin investors are very interested in fiat profits which is different to a lot of bitcoin only investors. Many of the latter believe bitcoin could become very important in the world of finance, maybe a means of moving money for global trade or even the world reserve currency in years to come. I don’t think for example, Shib investors think that’s possible with their token.

Well in comparison to traditional financial assets, like gold, stock markets or investment fonds, an investment into Bitcoin is still very very risky because price movements of 10% up or down are happening pretty regularly with Bitcoin. Within the crypto space though i think it is a safe thing to say, that Bitcoin is the safest and most stable crypto project out there to invest in. This means that during a bull market Bitcoin usually is not pumping that hard in comparison to most altcoins, but this also means that it is losing way less in value than Altcoins during a bear market. Bitcoin is now down to like 35% of it's ATH while many altcoin projects are still down 99% or even more.
So altcoins have still moonshot potential but of course also a way way higher risk.

Altcoins' volume isn't as big as bitcoins, and when some noticeable change happen in the price and in its volume, people will think that there's something happening in the coin that they tend to invest in it before they get left behind by the train. Afterwards, FOMO will kick in, price will increase rapidly, and bam, those who sit on the coin for too long will reap the rewards and get the benefits the most. At least, that's what I think what pushes people to invest on altcoins. If people tell you that they invested in an altcoins because of the 'technology' then they're plainly bullshitting you.

Simple reasons, altcoins are much cheaper and the profits will be much greater if you'll be lucky enough to ride the wave and to be patient waiting for it. Same as bitcoin, altcoins are also good for holding long-term but let's say like 5 years before you start on thinking if you'll sell some part of it or you will continue to hold as you got some feeling that it will still increase up to 10x in the coming future. Just a disclaimer, not all altcoins are profitable.

On this, I've a friend who has invested so much in this industry but has stylishly left Bitcoin out despite my emphasis to him that Bitcoin was a must have. In his conception – Bitcoin doesn't give me much profit as altcoins do. He's right. The major thing that makes a lot of people invest in Bitcoin is because it's the most guaranteed coin not to scam or disappear into thin air. If you talk of ROI, just give it to credible alts (one has to be extremely lucky to get such anyway). Take for instance, invest the same cash it will cost you to buy 1 BTC into an alt like BNB or Shiba. By the time Bitcoin moves $5k, go figure out what any of those Alts will be.

Personally, I don't rely on massive pumps when investing in altcoins. I look for the unique features and benefits they guarantee to holders, while also checking their backgrounds, history, who is partnering with them, what are their plans for the future. If we invest in an altcoin solely for its speculative purpose, we will be gambling, so I don't consider it an investment anymore. A minimum or predictability and expectations are needed when making an investment, even inside crypto market, which is well known for its volatile nature.

In my experience and what i see, there are many reasons people buy altcoins.
Diversifying their portfolio and they don't want to miss the high pump opportunity that is happening to some altcoins.

Then there are also newbie who are just trying to get to know cryptocurrencies and they try to invest or trade with altcoins that are still affordable.
Beginners sometimes do a lot to practice before they try to invest or trade with Bitcoins.

I think it is quite controversial topic. After all we are talking about something that could bring in a lot of trouble to people if they keep doing it, and that is why I believe that we are not going to see so much of it praised here, because only like one out of a thousand projects end up with a profit if you want to invest into altcoins. Look at how many coins and tokens out there, over tens of thousands of them, and look at how many actually made money for the investors.

This is why many people prefer bitcoin, because we know that one will go up, maybe not 100x, but it will go up. So, either you pick something that will go up a little, or you pick something that may go 100x or bust. That's a big risk and nobody could suggest it.

Possible huge profit I think reason why many people priority investing in altcoin than bitcoin, I don't sure with manipulation or hype with altcoin but low budget and huge profit earn this main reason why altcoin is priority for investing. Don't forget with altcoin have huge risk, actually huge return will having huge risk due many time altcoin price drop drastically.

Talking about long term investing in altcoin have huge potential profit after seeing many altcoin price drop under $1 last several years and today have been reached above $50 until $100. Aren't these people aware that BTC has the potential to pump up to $100k, $500k or even $1m? There are several threads about this before, so why will they believe on something which are risky and not guaranteed? Hmm. He is right that manipulations can happen most of the times in altcoins and tokens especially if that was a small coin or also a centralized one.

There are people who are after these manipulations thinking they can be rich instantly so they invest but those manipulators are much more wiser than them. This why many of those who invest on a pump and dump coins have lost a lot of money. If there is a good coin for long term then that would only be Bitcoin not altcoin.

Actually, we have the same reasons, it is about the chance to get bigger profits.  
Everybody knows that altcoins are more volatile than Bitcoin. That's why it can increase more significantly than Bitcoin when there are pumps. But investing in altcoins is riskier, many altcoins are just hyped coins and have no strong fundamentals. Those weak coins can disappear or can drop their values severely at any time. So, be careful to choose altcoins to invest in!!
