Division 1 spot: initial bid 5 mBTC (double fee), following bids have to be 0.5mBTC higher than previous one

Auction closes on Saturday 8PM GMT, if someone bids in the last hour, auction prolongs for another hour. If there are no bidders, we will promote the highest placed club from the lower division. They will need to pay regular fee for that division.

Not sure that I needed to write this post, but ok, let's go. I hate to see what's happenening in recent days. Not going to defend someone or support accusation - everyone already made their opinion after reading what was posted. I just want to have fun while playing without going into all this drama. It sucks that this drama reached BSFL, but if there was case of cheating, I feel very disappointed. Sorry for chaotic thoughts

Buying 1st Division club looks like very attractive offer, but no, I'll stay in Division 2 and will try to earn my deserved spot myself somehow.

It is a tempting opportunity to get back into division 3 at a fair price if you ask me. The team is fully focused at the moment, so some handouts will not cause any complacency in the ranks. I'll have to discuss with the board if we got some extra revenue to buy in or go big for division 1.

This might read like a cliche, but this is one of the threads where I actually like to post. It's different for many reasons; it must even be one of those few threads where you start reading from where your last post was—at least I do—which is a very rare thing on this forum except for my beloved local board.

I'm going to make this post as community-driven as possible, and I don't mean the Bitcointalk community, no, I mean the BSFL, because I've read some things I never thought I'd see around these parts, let alone in this fantastic thread. So, taking advantage of the fact that the waters have calmed down, or at least seem to, I'm only interested in this specific niche topic.
I think many here, as always happens or simply because they do the right thing, say nothing—and I'm not just talking about the hot topic at hand, but about sharing ideas, differences... a post during the season BSFL.

Those tables up there came up because I wondered how many people are going to answer that poll; I suppose the quorum for the consultation didn't even reach half, but I don't care what it was, since the issue was fixed through other means.

Speaking of that, I couldn't care less if there was collusion in this league or not. The reason is very simple: I had trust and, better yet, entertainment. I like the whole business of the questions, the results, etc. I don't have to explain that to the BSFL community, but I do to the Bitcointalk community, which gives context to the idea for outsiders.

Now, you have to wonder what's up with those nicks that never participate. For example, there's Da Silva—now it shows, or at least the information coming from the sportbets group gets updated, but out of nowhere he suddenly wants to sell his spot. OK.

What's going on with these accounts showing up out of nowhere, where nobody knows who they are within the community, and now this happens? I didn't care before, but now trust is broken, or at least starting to crack.

Why not purge the whole league and demand that all users belong to the community and have an active participation on the forum? For instance: yassinmanai, imarios... Look, mentioning them is not an accusation of anything, it's just based on participation numbers-post. (Let's suppose we tell them to go to hell, then they appear?   )

Then, with everything that has happened, one has to wonder about those head-to-head matches between these players where penalties were involved (I have no proof of anything here, nor am I saying that anything happened, but remember what they said about trust: it disappears, then you look back at past seasons.)

And what about users who modify their answers to favor or harm others, simply because they're communicating with each other? Well, that's not really an accusation; it's impossible to prove. And fortunately, we're sometimes competing for a couple of dollars, but other times it can be hundreds, and we see that the prizes can be in the thousands.

Someone might say, "Man, what a mess you're stirring up." No, don't put the blame on me; I didn't open that can of worms, nor was I the garbage sitting at the bottom of it. Those might sound like harsh words, but it's just an expression.

Da Silva wants to leave? OK, do your homework: open a Bitcointalk account and that's it. If he doesn't, he should leave the way he came in. As for the other three who are no longer here—and this isn't kicking a man while he's down—we should do the exact same thing that was done with Slissy.

I hope you take this suggestion, or more ideas, into account.

This is exactly what I wanted to avoid. We're spinning in circles and constantly wasting time and energy on things we really do not want to be doing.
The only rule of BSFL is 'don't be a dick'. That's it. You don't have to write here, ffs, vd309 basically does not and he won half of the leagues. Should we be kicking him out as well?

Now that I need to defend myself again - so be it.

BSFL started with Sportsbet - you all remember. Sportsbet wanted to add people from their Clubhouse - which we did.
Most of them opened BTT accounts and got banned for various reasons - so their BTT accounts are no longer active. Some of them still play BSFL because they like it.
Some Bitcointalk regulars who got banned in the meantime also play - so naturally, they cannot post in the thread as well.

There is no reason whatsoever to 'purge' the community - especially after even theymos himself admitted that the CLS case cannot be proven without a doubt.

So far we had 1 possible multiaccount accusation in 10 BSFL seasons. I'd say not that terrible to warrant drastic measures, or to cast doubt to the legitimacy of the results.

It's up to you fellas what you do next. We were building this as a community project for years, the expectations are that you act as a community as well and not start jumping on each other's backs as soon as there might be a small reason to do it.

Let's all understand that this is just a game on a forum, where everybody is welcome as long as some basic rules are followed.
Naturally, now that we grew to full 4 Divisions the rules for new registrations will be stricter - but we have to respect the members that led us to where we are - and it includes the Clubhouse crew.

Da_Silva's club has been sold to crowolf - he did not participate in BSFL so far but is playing Fantasy and NFL pools for a while (and is a friend of mine).

I have been watching some more tennis this season trying to brush up on some of the sports I'm not so used to but it appears in questions a lot of the time. I've tried and failed with formula 1, the sport seems to go right over my head no matter how hard I try, which has not been much however 
I'll focus on tennis and football now and add some of the sports that appear occasionally during the season.

A short message for the BSFL community:
I think I got involved in this initiative right from the start. At the time, I offered to help a little with the organization, which, despite some initial reluctance, was accepted, and I still think it's proving useful today.

In my opinion, the entire BSFL community deserves congratulations! No matter what has happened over the years.

Although I'm not currently participating in the competition (I think I participated in the first season...), I still find what you've been doing incredible. For me, it's inspiring, both the organization's users and the participants.

To all of you, please don't think you were deceived, betrayed, or wronged. You all always acted based on the information you had and what you believed.

Remember one very simple thing: there have already been scandals in sports that are used by the BSFL in its questions.
Who doesn't remember when Juventus was relegated?
The scandal involving Lance Armstrong, which shook the entire sports world?
What about the case of Daniel Köllerer in 2011, who was banned from tennis forever?
That's without even mentioning the scandals that have already occurred in almost every country, in some kind of sport.

But we also know of cases, of strong suspicions, that in the end are neither proven nor result in convictions. In practice, anything goes.

What I want to say is that, despite all the efforts made by the organization and other participants, incidents of this kind can happen anywhere.

In short, to keep this message brief, continue what you've been doing! My confidence in BSFL hasn't been affected; everything was done based on what they were capable of. You will continue doing everything in your power to ensure everything continues to go well.

I think we should all take a breath and say that this is normal, things always will happen, some unexpected, some difficult, but the spirit of the league and competition remains. Enjoy everybody the extra week break we have,,, I am right, right? We have 1 extra week to wait?
